I was trying to order take out and the phone was busy. By the time I arrived I told them their phone was off the hook or something cuz it was busy. This place sucks at service cuz I want to order in advance because I know how slow they are at getting the food together. But the food is okay. When I crave a Filipino TapSilog this is the place to go. I like their breakfast chow menu. But I wish they worked on faster service and the phone wasn’t off the hook.

The food is horrible. Ordered the sweet and sour Lauriat and the pancit that came with it was almost inedible. If I could give this place zero stars I would.

Although I can only speak to the drink item I decided to indulge in one evening our experience is still worth mentioning here on Unilocal. We ended up ordering two milk teas and were surprised at how long it took to receive them. It was later in the evening so there were only two other customers seated at tables. It seemed a bit odd but we weren’t in a rush so we didn’t sweat it. Once we got our drinks, I was able to finish my milk tea and somewhat enjoy it. However, I was disappointed that it wasn’t quite right. It wasn’t wrong per se because it tasted fine… it just wasn’t the type of milk tea I was expecting. I guess I am used to milk teas from Tapioca Expresses and what not. Oh well… at least now I know that Chowking’s drink won’t satisfy my milk tea craving but perhaps I can try their other treats such as their halo halo.

My sister bought me Lomi & it came in a small container. It’s not worth it for the price. I will never buy anything from them ever!!! Pricey & food is not good. I would not actually give them any star at all!!! They should be regulated by the Bureau of Food, if there’s such a thing.

Just stopped by for the halo halo with ube ice cream. Pretty pricey for 4.99 but it tastes like what you expect from chow king. The ube ice cream is the best part. Right next to seafood city, the lobby area appeared clean. Service was speedy. Haven’t tried the other options for food. Will update later.

If i’m not craving for the taho… Arrived around 10 am, ordered taho, wait was 25mins ok so i went grocery shopping first. Went back after an hour. Ordered taho and chicken meal, wait is 25 mins again for chicken this time OMG. Service is very poor, considering this is the only branch around northern SD. Manager is chewing gum while slowly, not effeciently tendering… poor poor poor

I only come here for the halo halo! Not much to say about anything else except the workers here are nice and the food comes out fast. It’s a small attachment to the grocery store. Come here and try their halo halo, it’s real good.

We are about two hours away from this Chow King location so we were excited to dine and take out for the kids. We waited patiently for our to go order, after thirty minutes, only to find out when I followed up that they’re about to cook my bihon order at the time I asked. Then when I got my refund receipt the man in clue(manager?) took it out of my hand and made me wait again. The Siopao Asado couldn’t be ready in 15 minutes and some order aren’t readily available. What happened to fast food? Good job Chow King! Total FAIL!!!

I actually enjoy chow king. Cheap food, fast service(sometimes), and nice employees. The only filipino fast food joint that serves breakfast ALL day! Ordered the tocino bangus($ 6.49) and a thai iced tea($ 2.49) under $ 10! Tocino and bangus was crisp, food was hot, no complaints!

Since there’s no more Jollibee in Mira Mesa, I’ve been looking for another Asian inspired fried chicken place. So I tried their chicken here. It’s not bad but I still miss Jollibee. ;( Be sure to look on their windows for special promos/deals. The ube shake and black jelly drink was way too sweet for my liking. I definitely will not be ordering those drinks again. I’d rather head over to Tea Station and spend more. I’d probably only go here for breakfast.

Come here often whenever I’m craving something sweet. Their Halo Halo is delicious. Their Taho is my favorite especially when it’s cold out. I usually ask for extra syrup, might be too sweet for most so if you’re not a fan of extra sweet then just take it how they give it. Their Black Gulaman sometimes has no flavor, but majority of the time it’s good. My son loves their breakfast; fried rice, longonisa &tocino. We’ve had their fried chicken as well, but for me it’s a little too salty. If you’re in the area, it’s worth stopping by depending what you’re trying to order. But if you’re looking for better food in San Diego I’d drive down to National City.

Never coming here again. Their breakfast is a total rip off. My bf ordered the Tapa and I got the Tocino and Bangus. They gave so little food especially the tapa. They were little pieces and looked like they scraped whatever was left in their pan. Tapa and tocino were too peppery. Eggs were overcooked and rice was tasteless. You are better off buying breakfast stuff to cook next door at seafood city and make at home or eat elsewhere. I don’t recommend coming here for breakfast. You’ll be disappointed.

I ordered one order of lumpia and the picture on the menu shows lumpia WAY bigger than the one I got. At least 3 – 4 inches each. I got a tiny 1″ pieces. What. The. Heck. Deceived. At least show pictures of what you ACTUALLY sell. Don’t waste your time here.

Came here after getting groceries from seafood city for a quick bite cause it’s just right there. Plus it reminded me of coming here after church back in them middle school days with my family and I actually liked their breakfast. And I haven’t been back here since until a few weeks ago. Ordered the garlic chicken and I was pretty disappointed when I opened my container. I was expecting something filling and whatnot but it wasn’t. Just a scoop of rice and some chicken pieces with an extra space of nothing in the box. The box was too big for the food that the food looked so sad, lost and empty haha. It was pretty sad. I was almost too disappointed that I didn’t want to eat it but I was really hungry. The chicken was also alright. Something I could’ve made. Shoot, I’d rather eat chicken stars from Carl’s jr.

I decided to check this place out after getting some groceries at Seafood City. The wait for my food was pretty slow considering it was almost 2pm when I decided to go. I ordered their garlic chicken combination that came with a soda and fried rice. It wasnt the best fried chicken I’ve ever had but it was still okay. I wouldn’t go out of my way to come here again, but if I was on my way in or out of Seafood City and didn’t want to wall over to Tea Station or even T-Pop next door, I would consider it.

Chowking is the fast-food spot where I go when craving Filipino breakfast. This location is in Mira Mesa next to Seafood City Supermarket. This restaurant is a blend of Filipino/Chinese cuisine where everything is made when you order. My usual order is the beef tapa with eggs and rice. and sometimes I get bangus(milkfish). The chewy tapa is marinated and flavored pretty well, mmmmmm! They also have a variety of other food depending on what you’re craving. There is also casual seating for those you prefer to dine in. The service here is fine and the food here is delicious! PROS: tasty breakfast, conveniently located by Seafood City for grocery shoppers, shakes CONS: pricey for the small portion, miss the old garlic fried rice. the new rice tastes different

The newly added Chinese Style fried chicken is my favorite on their menu. I really like how crispy and flavorful it is. The meal comes with 2 fried chicken and a cup of fried rice w/egg and sausage, it also comes with a sweet and sour tangy sauce to dip the fried chicken. I also like their Asado Siopao, they sell frozen ones too! Just heat the Siopao for 15 seconds in the microwave and it’s ready to be enjoyed. I had a few bad experiences ordering their drinks, Sago Gulaman and all of their other drinks w/boba is not so good and I wouldn’t recommend it. Maybe it’s just me, but every time I order, it always seem I get the old and hard boba… It’s not aldente and gummy as its suppose to be. Not sure if it’s old or it just wasn’t cooked right.

This was attached to a Filipino grocery store. Chowking is a fast food chain from the Philippines. It was a little before noon when we went so a lot of the«fast» food wasn’t ready. I had the beef wonton noodle soup. It was OK. Nothing special, just something to eat before my drive to LA. Tried a bit of halo halo too. Tons of ube ice cream, not much of the other stuff.

It was my first time here. I ordered their 2 piece with fried rice special for $ 4.49, which I thought was reasonably priced. They gave me a little buzzer instead of a number, which I thought was cool. The food was tasty and I needed something fast while running errands on my lunch. I wouldn’t come here regularly, but glad I tried it.

In my opinion, Chowking has the best Halo Halo, & I have tried plenty. It is loaded with red beans, yellow beans, coconut jelly, coconut string, red jelly, green jelly, flan, scoop of ube ice cream on the top, ube smeared on the cup, with just the right amount of ice & condensed milk. Management needs to put crispy rice flakes on the top & then it would be perfect.
