Kasey/Casey is the BEST hygienist/teeth cleaner/health provider for teeth EVER! I came to their office for the first time because my university’s dental plan had a PPO contract with them! I usually don’t go outside my familiar offices but because I’ve been strapped for cash I decided to do the next best thing and go out of my comfort zone of known providers and I’m so glad I did. I only waited 15 min after my appointment time to be admitted. As a new patient, it was suggested that I have x-rays done(and it was covered under Delta Dental) and my teeth came out healthy! However, after not getting a cleaning thorough cleaning for a year, I had alot of tartar! So Kasey/Casey was the best at really using her elbow grease to clean my teeth. And now my teeth feel and look cleaner than ever! She has the bubbliest personality of any health care/dental provider I have met in my life. It was SO refreshing to meet someone who didn’t treat me as a task but had a real interest in me as a patient and basically showed signs of enjoying her career! She only works at the office twice a week though so to make sure I get her as my teeth cleaner in 6 months when I go back for a routine cleaning, I booked the appointment as soon as I got off the dental chair, and hopefully next time, less elbow grease will be needed! Highly recommend her as a hygienist! 5 stars for the staff. 4 stars for the setup/equipment/office: small with only 6 chairs and also equipment is not top of the line but gets the job done(their suction thing isn’t as high powered as my previous dental place and the light shining in my face was sort of blinking/not stable but that wasn’t really a problem because the hygienist had her own bright light strapped to her head gear to shine into my mouth).

Dr. Hsieh is as skilled and more importantly honest as they come. I have had the pleasure of having him as my dentist for the past 15 years. I still use him even though I moved back to Orange County. I also would visit him yearly during the holidays a few years back when I lived in NYC. I have referred several friends to him who received outrageous conclusions from their dentists in Orange County. Once, instead of an $ 1,800 bill to cure tooth pain, Dr. Hsieh found it was tarter hitting a nerve and quickly cleaned it, relieving the pain. Another friend, also captive to the Orange County Dental Mafia was told he needed a root canal for $ 2,300. Dr. Hsieh looked at the x-ray and disputed the conclusion. My friend is unemployed and could not believe his good fortune. Dr. Hsieh is «old school». He has values and integrity-something sorely lacking in this profession. Wherever you live, it’s worth the drive.

I noticed there are hardly any dentist reviews. I assume it’s probably because it’s either too personal or people just don’t visit the dentist anymore. And, I can understand both reasons since it had been a while until my recent visit. Wow… that was pretty personal. Ha, don’t judge me people:)!! Anyway, my employer doesn’t offer dental insurance, and my mom told me to check this place out. Ambiance: Outdated, yet simple to serve its purpose. Waiting area is rather small with just about 8 or 9 chairs. Service: Everyone including the dentist and staff is Chinese. Not to worry, as they do speak English. There is a front desk person that speaks fluent English and she called me the day before my appointment as a friendly reminder. That’s always nice. Prices: I got my teeth cleaned for $ 50.00. From what I hear that’s a pretty good price. But, let me tell ya… the cleanin’ part wasn’t so pretty! First, they clean your teeth with the infamous drill thing, second, they«scale» it by picking out all the hard buildup and last, they polish your teeth. The not so pretty part is rinsing out your mouth after the cleaning and seeing the clear water that entered your mouth exit all bloody red. Yuuck!(Making a sour face). X-ray was $ 10.00 to make sure there weren’t any other cavities. I have to return for two. For each cavity they’re going to charge $ 60.00. Maggie: she’s the one that cleaned my teeth and she was super nice. Every few minutes she asked if I was doing ok. Ha, it’s probably because my eyes were closed the entire time and she probably thought I knocked out. Location: Next door to Min Sok Chon. Funny: Maggie asked, «Have you been eating oranges?» I was thinking…“what the heck, how does she know!?” So, I asked her and she said, «because your very back teeth are yellow.» Hahah good thing you guys can’t see them: D *TIP: To reduce the discomfort during the cleaning, close your eyes and pretend you’re picking at your own teeth. It helped me. Overall, if you’re not too high maintenance, and looking to finally cross off«Teeth cleaning“from your to-do list, I recommend this dentist.
