The owner is so kind! I go there for burritos in the morning before work. They make the perfect size burritos that’s not too big not too small for $ 2.70. Repeat customer

Had their breakfast burrito which was 2.70, the burrito wasn’t small but it was the perfect size and hit the spot. It had beans, potatoes, cheese, egg and bacon. Very good and filling. Service was great to. It is in a gas station convenient store so it’s for when you are on the go. No where to sit down.

Sal’s shop catered for a party I went to, and simply put his food was amazing! The chile relleno was delicious, the beans were great(despite being vegetarian! — I actually didn’t notice), and he had seafood dish that I don’t recall the name of, but regardless it was great too. I don’t live far from his shop and will certainly begin frequenting it.

I have yet to venture into the actual shop. But we had the opportunity to try Sal’s cooking at a catered wine party recently and the food was amazing. Let’s start with the beans. Someone requested vegetarian and they are not usually my first choice, c’mon lard is delicious, but damn the beans were good. That’s always a good sign to a mexican. If we go to a new spot and the beans are bad just get outta there. They were so good in fact that I jacked some tupperware from my friends house and set some beans aside to take to my wife. She is a true beaner. She loved them too. Oh my god the salsa was bomb. It must have had several types of chiles in it cause it was a beautiful color with some serious kick. It was so spicy that I was in love and some of the gringos couldn’t take it. So sad. More for me! Oh and the tortilla chips were great. I don’t know if they were homemade or not but you gotta have good chips and Sal delivered here too. The ceviche was kickass. Not too lemony, a common mistake and the fish was fresh and tasty. Ok on to the main dishes. There was chicken fajitas with grilled vegetables, and it was good. Not to greasy and not all healthy tasting and boring either. Truly delicious. Then the chile rellenos. OMG can I say OMG? How bout DAMN? Holy crap. Admittedly I haven’t had them in a while so I was definitely in chile relleno starvation mode. But they were amazing. First of all they were huge and perfectly fried. Second of all they were oozing with cheese once you bit into them. And the cheese was this perfect blend of some white american cheese and queso fresco or this other famous mexican cheese that I can’t remember. The Chile was tasty but not hot and just delicious. Damn I am starving for some mexican food now. To wrap up, Sal I cannot wait to visit your shop man. If it’s ½ as good as your catering I’ll be a happy happy man. –Robert

Fajita-solid Ceviche-fresh if you happen to be in the area, take a chance! San Diego’s culinary charm is built on small, hole in the wall joints. This joint will not disappoint.

Alright, let’s see. Condoms, Cheetos, a 40 ounce, motor oil, a lottery ticket and a carne asada burrito. If you need to pick up these items on your way back from church(or wherever), then you can do it all here since Corral Taco Shop( ) is located inside of a gas station convenience store. The question here is, will convenience equal quality? C’mon gang — let’s find out! At first glance of their menu( ), I notice that a number of their burritos are 5 bucks a pop(tax included). I ordered three different items during my three visits: breakfast, pollo asado and carne asada burritos. The woman behind the counter showed me the contents of my burrito before it was rolled up. She used one of those giant wooden spatula things that are used to remove pizzas from the oven. She also made it point to tell me that they use only Canola oil because they serve«healthy food.» The pollo asado burrito had, for the most part, primarily dark meat. The breakfast burrito was the oiliest damn thing I’ve ever had in my life. The carne asada and pollo asado were both pre-made. I can’t confirm if the BB was or not though I’m guessing certain ingredients(such as the bacon) were due to how fast I received my burrito. Pollo asado burrito(with beans and cheese only) # 42 — Carne asada burrito(with beans and cheese only) # 93 — Breakfast burrito # 105 — Corral serves, beyond a shadow of a doubt, the SMALLEST burritos I’ve ever been served in my life. All of my burritos were ok, though DEFINITELY not worth the price at all. By the way, don’t let the OTHER pictures that have been posted fool you. I don’t know where that place is but it doesn’t seem to be CETS. If you come here for gas, don’t get it from Corral Taco Shop. Just fill your tank at the pump and then haul-ass outta there.

The food and service is showtime at this spot. I definitely recommend the California Burrito and the breakfast burrito. If you are in the area or just looking for some good food i suggest you stop by. And say whats up to my boy Chava while you’re at it.
