So I have been going to Cris for haircuts for over a year now and am very happy with the Cris’ work. Recently decided to change up my hair style a bit. Cris did her magic and it came out great. Not too radical so that co-workers are shocked or freaked out, but still young, fun, and hip.

I have gone to Cris for my haircut several times now, and each time, I feel that she has exceeded my expectations. The first time, she pointed out the uneven layers that my previous stylist had cut. Then she showed me how she would refine the cut. She does a great job with short hair, which is perfect for me. She also has an intuitive sense for what kind of cut will flatter a client’s face. I will definitely keep going to Cris for my haircut, color, and styling needs.

I generally am in love with myself and all of my ideas + actions because I totally rock. This afternoon, however, I am literally kicking myself for waiting so long to book an appointment with Cris. A true professional, she asked the right questions and had the skills to execute the info that I gave her. I stood up out of her chair wearing the exact head of hair that I envisioned myself having when I sat down in it. See you in six weeks, Miss Peters!

Cris is the best stylist. I have a difficult hairline and she creates a style that works. I come in from out of town to see the Hair Ninja!

I found Cris by looking through Unilocal reviews for someone who does a good job with men’s hair. What I found was someone who does a GREAT job with my hair. It’s obvious that Cris really takes pride in her craft and puts a lot of work into customizing the cut for your head and hair. Plus she’s great fun to talk with and very funny. It’s hard to sit still when you’re laughing but well, scissors and ears and all.

Looking for a good spray tan? Actually a great spray tan is what I got when I went to see Cris. She was recommended by a friend of mine. I had been meaning to find a great spray tan artist before I needed one for a special occasion but ended up in a pinch for time and had a friend’s wedding coming up. Being very pale, I was very scared and hesitant to be spray tanning for the first time and so last-minute. Cris was very careful and made sure everything looked very natural. The wedding was 3 days after I spray tanned and was in a hot and humid place and everything held up very well. Her prices are very reasonable as well and she does packages, so she’s quite affordable. Highly recommend her!

Cris is the nerdiest hairstylist. Her conversation topics range from chemistry to geometry as she’s giving me an awesome haircut. I have super thick Asian hair and I have to say Cris was able to handle it. It took me a few weeks to make sure I like it and I do. She gave me cute layers without giving me split ends. A good haircut takes time, unfortunately I had to cut it short(so punny) and skip on the optional additional texturizing since my parking meter was running out. I would recommend her and if you mention that you heard about her through Unilocal, she might give you a discount!

I met Cris through a mutual acquaintence. I had dreadlocks and wanted them cut off, but wanted to salvage as much hair as possible. I had been looking around for a while to find the right person, because after my last set of dreads I looked like Joan Jett and I didn’t want to go through THAT again. You can’t just call up any hairstylist and say«Hey, will you spend 10 hours with me, lovingly and meticulously combing out my gnarly hair and follow it up with a banging new ‘do even though I can’t envision what I want?» But you CAN say that to Cris Peters the Hair Ninja! No Joan Jett in sight. Seriously, she spent soooo much time with me and never complained or got impatient, and I ended up with a full head of luscious, shoulder-length hair!!! And she styled me with an awesome ‘do which I wore to a wedding after. I received compliments all night! It was a great experience and totally reasonable, price-wise. I highly highly highly recommend Cris! Especially if you’re over your dreads but refuse to shave your head. Thank you Hair Ninja!!! :)

Loving my haircut! Full disclosure here; Chris is a friend. But before last week she had never cut my hair… So… I was in San Diego last week with my husband and went to see Chris at her salon for a cut. I am thrilled I did! What took me so long? My hair looks amazing, and for once I don’t have to wait a week or two while my too short bangs grow in a bit. I may be in SD every couple of months now She really is an artist and she loves what she does. I’m so proud of you Chris! Mad props ;)

Cris has true talent. I also appreciate that she is always professional, friendly and works hard at achieving the look you want. I have long, curly, thick hair and have endured many train wreck cuts/colors. With most stylists I’ll walk out with crazy frizz and funky layering. Not so with Cris — she does it exactly right! The last time I saw Cris, we decided to «straighten» my hair. I haven’t wanted to do the Brazilian or any chemical straightening b/c it doesn’t work on my hair, but Cris said she’d just use the blow dryer and a round brush. ANDWOW I was amazed. No damage to my hair and it looked sleek, which I can never do myself and I have never had any other«professional» do without the aid of a flat iron. I could go on… I LOVE Cris!

For the first time in my life I have an actual hair stylist instead of a regular old 10 dollar random super cut haircut or something. She takes her time and makes sure the haircut is done well. I can even tell how much better it comes out compared to my old way of getting it cut. I would def recommend her to anyone!

I am extremely particular about who cuts my hair. It took me a long time to find a stylist I could trust, and Cris, the Hair Ninja, is it. I have a ton of really thick, long hair which I wear in long layers. Most stylists will usually do a very superficial layering job because they don’t want to take the time to actually cut all the layers. So, I used to get stuck with haircuts with 1 or 2 layers on top, so my hair had no shape, and you could only see layers when my hair was blown out. Cris is sooooo good with Asian hair. She meticulously cuts every layer and is careful about ensuring that her cuts frame your face well. Not only does she have the skills, she was born with a good eye for style. And, it’s nice because she is easy to talk to so you never feel like she is bullying you into something you don’t want. I have observed her with other customers, and she is one of those rare stylists who respects the customer’s wishes, but also will stop them from making bad choices.

Cris’s cuts deserve five stars all the way. Cris is creative and realistic in her approach — she makes sure that her cuts work with your lifestyle, your face-shape and your own ability to style and blow-dry when you are at home. Cris tells you what will work for you and I really appreciate that! In addition to getting out of her chair with a great cut and the confidence that comes with that, you leave a happier person for spending time with Cris chatting about life.

My hair stylist for life. bold comment, right? no, not at all. i had been a hair salon nomad for the decade ive lived in sd. bouncing from one place to another… often«faking it» with my reactions when the chair was spun around to see the final product. but like most things, you can only fake it for so long before you make the decision to quietly go on your way… passively letting them know you are«just not that into them.» thank goodness i havent had to fake it this past year since i started going to Cris… the rising hair stylist i was introduced to at Paul Mitchell. She never rushes through a cut(even when im a little late, shame on me), awesome attention to detail(perfectionist in a good way), personable, and you walk out looking amazing with healthy hair. i always leave with a cut i love, a cut that LASTS(seriously, i went 7 months once before feeling i needed it once), a cut im proud to say Cris gave me. short, long, straight, curly, natural, colored… she can do it all… on top of giving a stellar head and neck massage during washing. what really sealed the deal is that she recently gave my boyfriend his first legitimate stylist cut and 3 weeks later im still gushing at how hot his hair looks. Cris is AMAZING at men’s cuts. amazing. she told us about how some places will cut corners, making a men’s cut start to «puff out» on the sides as it grows — thus causing them to need to go more often. and thats what ALWAYS happened with him. the conspiracy theorist in me thinks perhaps its intentional… hm hm hm. all i know is spending an extra few minutes working her magic and he still looks like he just got the cut. so ladies… sick of your guy having a hack job cut that looks good for *maybe* a week(if at all…) BRINGHIMTOCRIS! you seriously wont be sorry. I love Cris. shes an amazing stylist, friend, and person in general. I’m also happy and proud to say I brought her logo vision to life. our bond is strong =)

Very few relationships are as important than that between yourself and your hairstylist. But to maintain that relationship AND that luscious coiffure there’s a few rules to follow: –Do not stray nor cheat on your stylist with another stylist… YOUWILLGETCAUGHT and they might even breakup with you… their scissors will never again trim the hairs on your head. –You are not allowed do something permanent to your hair(ie. color or innocently trim your bangs) otherwise you will be chastised like a misbehaving child. –Treat them well(and tip them well)…a happy stylist ensures their passion to give you pretty hair every single time. –Maintain a good relationship and communicate well. They aren’t mind readers! –A good hairstylist is hard to find. It’s akin to finding the perfect mate… a hair soul mate. Once you find one that works for you, you better hold on to them and maintain that loyalty. With that said… I will never leave Cris because she makes sure my hair looks awesome every single time I sit upon her stylists chair. She is awesome, meticulous and an overall sweetheart. She adjusts to whichever whim I have at the time(I told her I wanted to keep my hair color natural… then I changed my mind a couple months later when I decided to dye it). If I want a certain cut, I just send her a picture and she makes it happen in a way that’s suited to my hair type and face. I am always reassured I have finally found my perfect stylist when strangers ask me who does my hair. Yeah… she’s good. Bottom line: Cris is my stylist for life. Boys will come and go, but Cris will always be there listenineg to my current woes as she snips away at my tresses with ninja like precision.
