Custom Coffee Plan(a division of Farmer Brothers, by the way) has recently expanded, and I loathe the subsequent changes that have taken place with the company. Expiration dates of K-Cup beverage products are once again a huge issue. During the last couple months I’ve received boxes of K-Cups that contained the following 2009 – yes, 2009 – BUBDs(best used by dates): March 21st May 8th June 5th August 21st September 9th December 31st I’ve had to jump through all kinds of hoops just to receive fresh product. An employee actually told me that use-by dates should be ignored and that the expired coffee is still very fresh. I was also blatantly told that several coffee flavors have been discontinued, so CCP is trying to sell their remaining/expired supply. Not acceptable! BUBDs are etched discreetly into each individual K-Cup; perhaps CCP hopes customers won’t notice so that they can get away with selling old products. I’ve observed a steep decline in CCP’s customer service – in the efficiency and pleasantness of it – during recent months as well. Customer service phone reps seem unfamiliar with the products and certainly don’t go out of their way to be pleasant. What happened to all the super-friendly employees? I used to look forward to placing orders; now, I procrastinate. Crappy packaging too. Literally just products thrown in an oversized box with no filler material and barely a strip of tape to keep the box closed during shipment. CCP currently deserves a rare 1-star review from me. This company needs to make some major changes – pronto!
