We’ve always been steered in the right direction at this restaurant. The staff has a good grasp of their menu and their amazing selection of beer. Try the cheese plate. Sarah is one of the servers and also tends bar — listen to this girl, she knows of which she speaks! My husband has a more discerning palate than I, and he’s never disappointed. At this point, we go to see Sarah and thrive on her expertise and her sense of humor!

Ugh… I have a love/hate relationship with this place because of the side of bangers that I ordered. let the puns begin: The banger was not worth the buck The banger was short of my expectations 2 buck bang okay, now that was out of the way. This is a hidden gem if you are a chicken and waffles person. After a good 5k run, our friend recommended this place and was this the place to refuel and get some protein gains! Out of the whole party, 4 of the 6 of us ordered the chicken and waffles. I ordered the cold salmon plate and my friend who was going Vegan had their banana vegan bread, potatoes and soup. When those chicken and waffle plates came out we literally gasp out of shock… those f***kers were big! Waffle, chicken, chicken, waffle and held together by a stick. Syrup, butter and oil where just dripping happily from the top. Ugh… that crispy skin, the smell of diabetes… and I got a stupid cold salmon? What the hell was I thinking?(oh yea, eating healthy. duh) the salmon was yummy though! I’m not going to lie, I did like my dish. The salmon was deboned, cooked and then chilled with seasoning. It came out with the typical lox sides and this dill cream cheese spread that I cleaned up. The salmon was firm and flaked off in nice slices… but that chicken… that crispy yet fluffy waffle.

First off they are PETFRIENDLY! When my fiancé and our two pups arrived our fur babies were instantly given water and treats for us to give them! Then shortly after we got the pleasure of speaking with the owner Larry(we didn’t know this at the time) and he was so great! Super friendly, funny and passionate! Love the fact that this is a family owned and operated business. Also the meaning behind Dan Diego is touching. As for the food! Delicious! Large portions so come hungry! Also they have a great beer selection. our server Mike was more than helpful and beyond friendly! Definitely coming back to this place!

I go to the restaurant for lunch. The food is very good. The chef makes everything from scratch. The breads are all excellent and the french fries couldn’t be any better! Some unexpected items are very good — the veggies burgers and the cheese plate are tasty and well presented. Of course if you’re in the mood for comfort food like fish and chips, mac and cheese, wings or burgers they are all there. And best of all the prices are very reasonable.

yummy yummy in my tummy! I love that I can come here and have«home» type meals in a bar. It is nice when not everything is covered in bacon and I love having more options than just variations of hamburgers. I have had the meat loaf(yummy and very large portion), the french fries in gravy, and the beef stew. All very good. I also like this place because of the beer selection! my husband fell in love with a Belgium beer in Brugges, and they have it!

I went to Dan Diegos on a Sunday for brunch with a few other people. We sat at the bar since most of the crew wanted to watch football and the bartender was really friendly. She remembered each of our names which was impressive since I’m terrible with names. Since our group was quite large, I tasted quite a few items: soda bread beignets, shepherd’s pie, salad with salmon, happy, and my order — the sausage sampler. Overall, the food was pretty good, albeit on the heavier side. Hearty is the first word that comes to mind. The bread is made on site, and the various bread I tried was very good. The sausage gravy in the Happy was quite good and wasn’t overly salty even with the addition of bacon. I can see why that’s a popular dish. The shepherd’s pie was clearly homemade and again, very hearty. I would love a bowl of it on a cold winter night. One of the items in the sausage sampler was liver and liver is a hit or a miss for me, but I liked their version because it was on the milder side. If you’re iffy about your meats, I’d suggest asking which sausages will be included that day.

Great food! We came here after it first opened and it was just ok but now that it’s developed a bit it is great! So impressed with the food. I had the smoked salmon and it was so moist. And great with the house made pretzel roll. Will be coming back soon!

Great food and service! You could definitely tell the food was freshly made, it was delicious. I had the bangers and mash and my husband had the German plate-fabulous! We will definitely be back!

This restaurant is a must visit! Brunch after marathon training workout was awesome! The service impeccable and super personal — thank you Sarah! Had corned beef hash with potatoes, scrambled eggs and fruit. Finished it with a beer — calorie replacement perfected! :)

Another wonderful visit to Dan Diego’s! Having just returned from New Orleans, I had to try their soda bread beignets I hadn’t noticed on the menu before. They are obviously different from those at Café du Monde, but Dan Diego’s wins outright because they are 1820 miles closer to home. I always enjoy Dan Diego’s; my home away from home.

We ate here on Sunday I’m Irish so I was craving a good plate of spuds(potatoes). Both my boyfriend and I ordered the Shepards pie it came with soda bread. The soda bread was unbelievable and the Shepards pie was good too but I would have liked a bit more potato on the dish and there was just some in the centre but it all tasted great!

Cute little place, love the patio when it’s sunny. You can expect the game to be on the two tvs behind the bar inside. This place has a superb selection of ciders and beers on tap. The breakfast is classic Irish food with bangers, black and white pudding, soda bread biscuits, and house made corn beef hash. Brunch available Saturday and Sunday until 2:30pm. The staff here is very attentive, always asking how the food is and seeing if you need more coffee. Love it!

How can any Irish bar score such low points with me especially when they have BEER!!! Service is is pretty slow for such a small joint. The servers were friendly… just grab them when you can. Food was ok but nothing exceptional. I had the fish and chips but for $ 13, I expected something more. Was a bit surprised there were NO Happy Hour specials for food. A big reason I probably won’t come back. $ 5 pints for Happy Hour but didn’t really want to buy a whole $ 13 meal to go with my pints. Another ding is there’s really not much parking. Maybe 6 spots in the lot and then enough for 6 caRS out front on Morena… otherwise go the neighborhood behind. All in all, it was ok but with no Happy Hour food specials and not much parking, I probably won’t be coming back.

Their food was very good and overall a good experience. I ordered a hamburger not blackened but well done. It came out with part of it blackened. If I were to order again I may pick not so much well done. I also got a Caesar salad which was very good.

We just moved to Bay Park and were looking to find some local spots to «make our own» in our new neighborhood. The first place we stopped was Dan Diegos and we were sold on the fun menu of euro pub fare.(I really wanted to try the pastrami sliders!) So here’s how our very first visit to Dan Diegos went: Walked in. No one greeted us. Looked at a large sign to our left that said«Please wait to be seated». Waited. And Waited. Bar tender was five feet in front of us and did not acknowledge us at all. Waited some more. Bartender looks at us, turns his head and continues conversation with co-worker. Waited some more. Started to talk a little louder to see if maybe we would get noticed. Nothing. Waited another few minutes. Left. I was really bummed about this experience since this place is in walking distance from our new home. I was excited to try the food and hopefully make it one of our regular«go-tos» … Oh well, Offshore Tavern is just a block away and they were incredibly nice when we arrived hangry from our Dan Diego’s experience.

I haven’t visited this place for almost 4 months or since I got a «not so good» service on New Years day. Today everything was fantastic. My husband ordered Munich Schnitzel and I had beef stew and a side of veggies. Everything perfectly cooked and flavored. I must say that the schnitzel was absolutely outstanding… I have a Polish background and schnitzel is a popular dinner meal in Poland. I can cook it myself and know exactly how it should taste. ITWASGREAT!!! After our dinner we had their bread pudding which was wonderful, but I would recommend putting few raisins/cransins to add a bit of a tarty accent to this richly sweet and moist dessert. The service was great, the food was awesome and it was nice to be back as it is literally only two 3 blocks away from our home. We will be back again this Wednesday for the Taste of Morena !!!

My family and I stopped here on our way to Sea World for some lunch after seeing the amazing Unilocal rating and reviews… and needless to say we were not disappointed. Here’s what we ordered: * Guiness Wings — $ 6 — Great! * Fish and Chips — $ 12.50 — Very good * Kids Chicken Strips — $ 5 — All right * Kids Grilled Cheese — $ 5 — WTFOMFG! * Red Cider — mix of cider and red sangria * Big Sky Moose Drool — $ 4.50 — Nice * Snakebite — Crisp! Everything was excellent, but the real star of this show? THEKIDSGRILLEDCHEESESANDWICH. I kid you not. This is the best grilled cheese I’ve ever had in my life. It was so buttery. Everyone at the table kept wanting more bites. My daughter also ordered the fresh Apple Slices, which they cut into a spiral shape — very unique! Dan Diegos feels very much like an Irish Pub. Darkish inside, they also have patio seating if you need more air & light. The staff is very friendly. I had to dock a star because the table was very wobbly and the menus were very wet(I think they clean them off with a wet rag). We mentioned we were splitting the Fish & Chips and they split the servings onto two plates which was nice and unexpected. LOVE the huge fries! We are definite fans and have already planned when we are coming back for that grilled cheese &CRACK sandwich ;)

I will eventually have to go back and provide a more accurate update… But here is what I have from my first encounter: I wanted to grab a drink and something to snack on, so dad and I decided to check this place out since we had never been. As far as the«bar atmosphere» of it all, it was a significantly older crowd… I’d say a majority of the patrons were over 60. I just had a glass of sangria and a small salad to hold me over until dinner. The waitress recommended the red sangria over the white, and suggested I try it with the cider blend. It had a nice fruity flavor with a citrusy kick at the end. I could have easily enjoyed another glass. My salad on the other hand, I went out on a limb! Beets to me are as disgusting as olives… But I decided to give the poached beet salad a try. It was served with significantly more beets than anticipated, diced apples, nuts(walnuts I think?), and goat cheese. It was pretty yummy and the combination of the beets within it all provided a nice peppery flavor to balance the sweet. Not opposed to stopping back in for a full meal! Stay tuned…

Great place for anyone who’s a true pub and tavern person and even better if you love Irish, British and German food. Very impressive beer selection. A few beers that have fallen off my radar over the years due to location and gave me a little warm sentimental feeling from my upbringing. Everything on the menu looked great to me. Love this menu and the range of food on it. Ran with the wurst sandwich, side salad, a cup of the lamb stew and a coffee. Coffee was good, but nothing special. Everything else that hit the table looked great. Lamb stew is for people who truly love the gaminess flavor of lamb. Tasted delicious and I wish the broth was a little thicker but beyond expectations for SD. The wurst sandwich is no joke. This is a very serious sandwich. Beautiful fresh baguette with top quality bratwurst and liverwurst with the perfect marriage of high quality mustard, red onions and sauerkraut. Blew my wig back beyond expectations and slapped me in the mouth with some of the most sophisticated flavors I’ve experienced in awhile. The salad was very good as well. If they start making brown soda bread, I’ll be back here once a week. They have it all here. Another SD hidden gem.
