Ehhhhh super expensive $ 215 for a balayage no cut, my hair was a little longer than shoulder length. idk what racked it up so high. Maybe my fault for not asking how much it would be. Still paid duh. I feel my hair is orange :(was super excited, but I’m gonna try salon on 30^th so crossing fingers! I would do 2 stars but the hair dresser was nice. But I’m not there to be friends with the hair dresser I paid (a lot) for orange hair

I got my haircut by Johnny yesterday and had a great experience. Love my new do! Johnny was friendly and fun and took his time to be sure my haircut was perfect. I went in not knowing exactly what I wanted to do with my hair and Johnny helped me figure it out. Two thumps up from this guy!

I’ve been coming here for a couple years now & I don’t ever see myself going anywhere else. The staff here is super friendly & welcoming. As for my hair stylist Johnny, he is the absolute best! I came in here after letting a friend experiment with my hair & Johnny has seriously performed miracles with my color correction. (My hair is the color correction picture that’s posted, you’ll see what I’m talking about.) In my opinion, Johnny is the king of balayage. He’s super talented & makes the whole process such a fun experience! I’ve also had Johnny do my hair & makeup for special occasions & I leave feeling beautiful (: I don’t see myself ever going to anyone else for my glam needs.
I definitely recommend this place & booking your appointment with Johnny. You won’t be disappointed!

Always happy with my cut and color. I’m blonde now and while it took us a while to get there, Johnny made sure the health of my hair was a priority! You’ll leave feeling so beautiful and fabulous! Staff is friendly and they obviously have great hair, too. They offer wax services along with make up services. Definitely try this salon. Book your appointment with Johnny and you won’t regret it.

I’m new to town so naturally on the search for a spot to get my hairs did. Diesel was in the neighborhood and had great reviews. I’d like to add another.
The service was perfect. The smiling receptionist offered me complimentary beer and wine and Johnny the stylist was very friendly, knowledgeable and full of helpful tips.
The atmosphere was hip and modern yet unpretentious. The music was relaxing; not that urban techno stuff. I felt very at home.
I typically wouldn’t pay $ 60 for a haircut but the quality service was well worth it (next time I’ll be having a beer). They also offer an extensive rewards program with discounts for returning clients!

Gina gave me a beautiful cut and style! Happy with my haircut and with her client customer service. The salon is in my neighborhood so I thought I might give it a try when my stylist moved out of town. Happy I did. Thanks guys!

Absolutely in love with Diesel salon! Everyone is so friendly and very welcoming. They offer refreshments– good beer, wine, coffee, tea. The ambiance is great and the décor is just awesome. Gina is incredibly talented at what she does and she always takes such good care of me. You can give her total control and trust you will look amazing when she’s done, or you can tell her exactly what you want and she will do that too. Gina is upbeat and perky, never a dull moment when you’re in her seat. Pricing is reasonable considering the quality and comfortability of the establishment. I highly recommend her and the salon overall!

Johnny did such an amazing job! I came in with darker hair, showed him pictures of exactly what I wanted. He was so kind & friendly, & my hair turned out to fit my expectations perfectly. I would highly recommend anyone to this salon, & to Johnny!

Just got a fantastic haircut by Gina… Which has secured my place with her as a loyal client. I went drastic, from long hair with a side part to bangs. She assured me that it looks amazing and she loved it. When I wasn’t entirely sure what my hesitation was, she helped me troubleshoot my concerns, then she trimmed my bangs 3 diff times until I loved what I saw.
Absolutely 100% cares about what you think about YOU as a customer wants.

My stylist Johnny Wynn is amazing! Does a fantastic color and cut, love how he talks to you about what is best for your hair. I highly recommend Johnny, if it’s just for color and cut, or just a cut…
He even does make up for that special occasion.

This was my first time at Diesel Salon that I had found on Unilocal and loved my experience here. The location in Kensington was super easy to find as well! The minute you walk in you are greeted with a warm welcome by the staff members, and they offer you complimentary beverages. My hair stylist was Candice, and she did a great job on layering my hair after not cutting it for over a year. My hair already had a grown out balayge so she made sure I still had my blonde ends. In addition, she made everything a very easy going experience by explaining in detail on how my hair would look and by showing me every time she cut a layer off making sure it was what I was looking for. I’ll definitely be coming back for a touch up the next time I’m in San Diego. Thank you so much!

Dawn at Diesel has been doing my hair for years and is an AMAZING artist w/​cut, color, you name it! She makes my super fine hair look full and always does my highlights beautifully with her perfect art of blend and making it look natural.
This time she gave me my first balayage and I love it!

Very nice girl did just a blow drying style that I was quoted prior 35! but not quite all the way dry oops! It’s my first time here! Too pricey! not what I was quoted at all! I ended up paying 45!!! I’ll try it again maybe one day! Not very often! I love way more attentiveness! «L») she asked me if I wanted something to drink! I said water would be great! Never got any! Went home and finished blow drying & styling my hair… Sad face for service & prices :((«L»)

Johnny has been styling my hair for going on a year. I love him and will never give him up. He does a fabulous job of dealing with the mess that is my curly/growing-out-from-a-bad-haircut/crazythings-are-happening-to-my-hair-because-I’m-pregnant head. He super sweet, funny, and up-​lifting. I always leave feeling great.
Monique cut my husband’s hair last month. She did a beautiful job for a great price. He usually goes to a cheap chain place, but he loved his haircut and the atmosphere at Diesel. He usually hates haircuts (even at other nice places I’ve dragged him to over the years) but he still talks about how relaxing Diesel is. It’s a miracle.
Diesel does a great job of rewarding returning customers. They gave me a discount card for new customers that takes 15%, 20%, and then 25% off my bill. They have a newly free rewards system for money you spend there and reviews you give. They also give you a lovely free drink from a surprisingly extensive menu (including craft beer and lovely wines). So, don’t let the price tag scare you, there are a lot of ways that Diesel makes itself a good deal.
Finally, they’re soon to start offering nail services, and they already offer make-​up and waxing services (at least for eyebrows), and I expect to make it my one stop beauty shop.

Marissa VP is incredible. I’ve been going to her for years and we’ve done just about every color on the wheel. She’s so humble for someone who’s so clearly gifted. She has a broad knowledge of products that are out or about to hit the market and loves sharing that insider info with you. She stays up to date with current fashion and trends, and isn’t afraid to tell me the truth when I ask for something outdated.
I’m at ease when I’m sitting in that chair and under her care, because I know I’m taken care of and my hair is about to look incredible — and that’s priceless!

Melissa H. is a miracle worker! I had really only had one person cut my hair since I was a kid, but I just couldn’t wait for a trip up to Huntington Beach this time. I made an appointment online (super easy and convenient) and hoped for the best. I am so glad I ended up with an appointment with Melissa!
I had shoulder length hair and badly cut bangs I’ve been trying to grow out. I brought in a picture of Carey Mulligan with a pixie cut. This was a huge task to ask of someone I’d never met, but I couldn’t have asked for a better cut! Melissa really took my worries into consideration (my round face, my huge forehead) and gave me a cut that flatters my face and gives my fine hair tons of volume! She is truly a master of her craft.
After cutting my hair, she walked me through the styling process and gave me great product recommendations. I’ve never been happier with a haircut! I’m moving up to Orange County soon, but I’m thinking I’ll need to make the trip down to Diesel for my next hair appointment! If you’re looking to go short, I highly highly recommend Melissa!
