Sad to see they’re closed. Their buttermilk donuts were the best in San Diego. There’s a donut shaped hole in my heart :-(

I’m so sad this place closed down! My husband and I had doughnuts there every Saturday!

It looks like they may have closed up shop. Sad, because I was one of their weekly customers.

Great donuts! I had the blueberry cake donut with glaze and a round maple. Both were excellent. My husband had the maple cruller and a pink round donut. All of it was very good

This is a cruel and misleading name. It is called Donut Haven, but it is actually one of the LEAST safe places for donuts to be. If you’re a donut here, I will probably eat you.

Really excited to try new donuts! I love donuts. Came in on a Monday at 10am. I ordered a regular flavored cronut– it was a nice cronut, but tasted stale, which made me sad because I bet the fresh ones taste awesome. I realize I didn’t come in early in the morning, but I’m guessing they don’t bake fresh daily. I recommend they offer to heat the cronut for you– might make it taste more fresh. All, in all… service was ok, little bit of a weird vibe, donuts look delicious and taste pretty good. But maybe catch them earlier in the morning when donuts are fresh.

Straight and to the point. All the classics and the price is right. Plus the owner is really sweet. Little mom and pop shop that deserves support!

Went in around 14ish, clean bakery smelled divine. Super friendly Asian woman helped me out. Donuts were fresh and had that perfect crispness but nothing but soft goodness inside. Exactly what I wanted

Tried this place 3 times and was impressed the first time but only to be severely disappointed the other times. I would give this place 4 stars if the lady who works there was there every time but they have another guy that works there, and he is AWFUL! He is lazy for one, claiming things are broken b/c he doesn’t want to make something, when the person in front of us had something from the same machine. He doesn’t clean, found mold on one of our donuts as well as he doesn’t keep the flies out of the counter cabinet. And lastly the donuts are NEVER fresh when he is there. The first time we went the lady was nice, had everything clean and had some fresh donuts in the case. If I wrote a review based on the 1st experience it would be 4 stars, and thats the only reason they are getting 2 stars, if based only on the experience with the guy I would give him 1 star and if Unilocal allowed no stars that’s what he would get. My suggestion, if you see the lady in there go for it, if you see the guy look elsewhere for your sweet tooth craving.

TL;DR– You can always have a donut! And you should :) Temptation never tasted so good! When I first started working in the neighborhood, I thought«there are so many healthy options, this incredible!» 4 years later all I can think of are donuts! There’s always an excuse for donuts. Hungry? Eat a donut! Thirsty? Have some juice, and a donut! Want a snack? Have a donut! Feelin lonely? Have donut! Celebrating? Have three donuts! Donut Haven is exactly that, a haven! I usually stick to regular glazed, but their apple fritters are ASTONISHING! I can’t put it down after the first bite. And their prices, unbeatable. Two donuts and a large coffee for $ 3!!! I do suggest going early though, that’s when they are fresh and have the most selection.

Closest donut place. Much cheaper than anything offered by Starbucks and it’s available all day. What else can I say. The donuts come in all sizes and shapes. Sure it’s not your high fallutin’ Donut Bar or Voodoo donuts but I really shouldn’t be indulging in too much sweets anyway. But for a quick donut or a reasonable alternative to the high end places, this place shall do… this place shall do. Oh they have Italian ice for summer!

Donut Haven is our go to donut spot. Mostly because we can walk there. They are always nice. They sell«cronuts» occasionally and they accept debit/credit cards. Another customer recommended the blueberry cake donuts. They are«psycho» he said. I think that means delicious. My wife likes the crumb and old fashioned. I prefer the raised glazed with sprinkles. I bought a dozen donuts once and it was only $ 10. Normally they’re about 4 for $ 5. Not much indoor seating. Recommend getting a bag of donuts to go and sipping on coffee in front of the tv at home for a relaxing weekend morning.

This review is based upon my friend Bhavik’s experience. The donuts were fresh with quality ingredients that you can definitely taste. It was a nice breath of fresh air if you’re used to those regular crappy donuts from the grocery store that come in frozen. The shop itself is a mom and pop kinda place, so it’s small inside. I got a Bavarian and also a blueberry filled donut. The Bavarian was good but the crème could’ve been a tad bit sweeter; the blueberry filled donut on the other hand was perfect. The dough is light and airy and the donut is stuffed with a massive amount of blueberry filling so you’re definitely getting your money’s worth! It was good, but not worth going out of your way for. However, if you’re on the neighborhood you should give this place a try.

I’m not a donut aficionado by any means. However, I have sampled the likes of Donut Bar, Yum Yum, Winchell’s and Dunkin. I have to say that out of all the places I have been, Donut Haven has the best donuts. There’s rarely a line. The family who runs the shop is a delight. The donuts are always fresh and never too sweet. I would highly recommend the bavarian-filled maple donut. It’s my favorite! I recently tried their version of the cronut with raspberry filling. It was my first time trying a cronut, so I’m not sure how it stacks up by any means. But I will say that it was crunchy, light, moist and very satisfying.

I like a good doughnut shop and this left me with a smile on my face, after my first bite of my old fashion chocolate covered doughnut. It was a little pricier that most places I go to, at .99, because I usually pay around 75 cents. The old fashion came well covered with delicious chocolate right over the crunchy crust of the doughnut.( ) That crunch is what made me a big fan of this doughnut, not to mention its flavorful tasty interior.( ) But, that crunch that lead into that moist center was the ticket it my book. They carry a good collection of doughnuts and a limited selection of cronuts at about two and half dollars.( ) The nice elderly Asian couple who run and work the shop are very polite and helpful. I liked that they both came out to have a conversation with me and answer my questions.

Mmmm… craved a maple old fashioned on a Saturday morning, and the Haven is the closest to me. I was slightly disappointed :-( The donut was a bit too dense, and the texture was almost chalky. Darn. Maple glaze was a winner, though.

Donut Haven, Thank you for the donuts. We enjoyed them inside your haven. However, your haven was not my haven. While the donuts seemed fresh, and the presentation was acceptable, you could use a clean up. The table was sticky, and the other tables were dirty with leftovers. The water bottles stacked by the door, need to be moved. Your window was dirty. And, Friday, October 18th, 2013 it was warm outside. Inside your haven it felt muggy and hot. Open the door or turn on the air and install a fan. And last, if you choose to make your business your home. Were you watch Asian TV. Can you do it in the back? It’s not enjoyable for us the customers to see that or hear it, right at the cashier counter. You provide tables and chairs for us the customer to enjoy the donuts. Besides the donuts, there was nothing enjoyable about my experience. Thank you for the donuts. But, I will not be returning.

I love this little donut shop. It’s a drive for us, but I don’t mind it. The lady who’s always there is so sweet, and I love that she never fails to smile at us as we walk through the door. They have a good selection of donuts(the blueberry is my favorite), and the prices are very good. Really can’t beat that! I recently saw that they also offer lumpia. How I never knew that before is beyond me, but I definitely want to go back to find out if that’s true, and if so, how they taste!

Smaller selection of donuts than some places, but still good quality. My boyfriend and I had the following on 9⁄29: Apple fritter Choc cake donut w/rainbow sprinkles Glazed old fashioned donut Maple bar YUMMY! Coffee was decent, too. They DO accept credit cards. When I came in, they had one of those credit card symbol signs by the register. Sent note to Unilocal to correct on business profile, 9÷29÷12.
