Pros: probably the only bagel shop open past 3pm in SD; serve warm food quickly and happily; have a way to streamline long lines. Cons: often have bagels that look like they may have been the reject pile(think smaller bagels, poppyseed with low poppyseed count; Asiago with little cheese that is somewhat charred, etc.) my only thought is that if you’re going to stay open until 10pm, you should still offer quality bagels. Love me some Einstein’s; not so much the late bunch.

Bad Einstein Bros location inside the airport… Go to Starbucks instead before TSA… They kept on getting orders wrong. I asked for an iced white mocha and a blueberry muffin warmed up. It took them 15 minutes to hand me the muffin and when they gave it to me it wasn’t heated… I didn’t want to have to ask again because I knew it would take even longer and they’d probably forget about my muffin in their warmer… One of the flight attendants asked for meat and cheese on his sandwich and they kept adding egg to his sandwich. They had to re-make it 3 times because they weren’t paying attention. The flight attendant was rushing to get on his plane but he handled the situation well because I’d be pissed if I kept on having to ask my sandwich to be made right.

This is one of the most inefficient operations in an airport that I’ve experienced. 9 people behind the counter and it took over 20 minutes to get one bagel because there was no one in charge — so 9 people behind the counter but only 2 actually working. And of course it’s in an airport so even though it should taste the same it doesn’t :-(

Stopped by to get a coffee while waiting on a flight. The coffee was much better than expected. I chose a large vanilla hazelnut hot coffee — excellent flavor and perfect«hot» temp; not the scalding temp and ready to drink. The organization is definitely lacking. Granted it is an airport shop but that shouldn’t mean long lines and chaos. There is not clear definition on where to start and end. The pay here visual management was confusing to many — not realizing you order and pay at the same place the line became even more scattered. The flow is order/pay then move over to pick up. The«pay here» sign confused the crowd. Good service — pretty quick considering the lines. Lots of frustrated people waiting on food whereas I only had a beverage.

The lady at the counter was polite and attentive. The turkey bagel I had was tasty but the everything bagel was dry. So dry that two bites into it the bread crumbles in big chunks. I ate it all, but it was messy. Quite pricey at airport location mark. I notice a lot of lounging at 230am by custodian personnel. I know this airport has an employee place for them to eat their lunch. Why sit at a place and take up room when your not buying anything from Einstein bagels.

I was craving a coffee after work and before my flight, but they were out of espresso! A super nice barista offered to try to whip me something up and it was great! She made sure I liked it and even offered me a brownie Ive been having a run of poor customer service, so I thought I would give thanks for a little GREAT customer service. Thank you!

Decent – and cheap – airport food. I had a buffalo chicken bagel-thin sandwich(not sure the name of it). I thought it was good. Everything is cooked via microwave, though, except for the fresh bagels being baked in back. Everyone making the sandwiches and stuff are just at a line, adding toppings and what not, and nuking it. Not much for preparation or presentation…

What a horrible place. I mean… I understand this is airport food and it’s SUPPOSED to suck and be overpriced, but damn. Food is pretty much unedible. If you order food from here be sure to check your order before you leave. I ordered a veggie sandwhich, and when I arrived on my plane to eat it, it was a salmon sandwhich. I’m a vegetarian and couldn’t even eat it, plus it smelled terrible. Check your food orders!

Cashier was nice but my sandwish, the turkey bacon avocado was flavorless. For $ 12 I expected a really yummy sandwich. Didn’t get it at all.

I got an iced coffee and a blended vanilla drink they were both great. Came out fast and the customer service was amazing! The girls that worked there were SO nice and friendly. Breath of fresh air, especially at the airport. It wasn’t expensive(for airport drinks and food) which was great! I got 2 drinks and a snack under $ 10.

If you are at terminal 1, this is good place for a quick bite and coffee. Since there are practically very few options in this cramped terminal, this place is always crowded. I think the staff tries their best, but there are always long lines here. The cappuccino here is strictly ok and they serve only two sizes for all coffees –medium and large. Whatever happened to small sizes ??! The bagels are decent — nothing special here. I find their sandwiches to be a bit pricey. But given its at an airport, I guess you are left with no choice !

Food decent, but customer service needs help. I guess one girl clocked out early and that is all the staff could focus on. They kept grumbling about it through the transaction. On a better note the bagel was served up hot, and tasty. A much needed snack.

When I’m traveling, all I want is quick service and food that doesn’t taste like it’s been in the fridge all day, all at a price that doesn’t make me wish I wasn’t in an airport(I’m already wishing that without crappy, cold food). Einstein’s bagels is that. If the line is really long, they send someone out to take orders from those in the line. I’ve never had to wait more than a couple minutes for our food. The chicken buffalo sandwich is just okay, especially as I got it without the cream cheese. But it’s warm and quick. I wouldn’t get it if you’re worried about staining your shirt. The thin bagel turkey club sandwich is included just a little bit of turkey and avocado, but it’s meant to be low calorie, clocking in at only 400. The vegetarian sandwich is satisfying and comes with tasty hummus. There is a small tea selection here, limited to B only three flavors: a plain English breakfast, a blueberry green tea, and an herbal chamomile. They’ll happily give you soy milk if you ask. Overall, this is my preferred place to grab food to go in terminal one.

In general, I find it pretty difficult to find airport food I actually like. This part of the San Diego International Airport(specifically the Southwest terminal, which I believe is in Terminal 1) seems to be especially awful in terms of food selection, since the area really doesn’t have that many good choices, or choices in general. Anyway, I decided to get the Hummus Veg Out — one of their signature sandwiches — and my overall experience with it wasn’t the best. The service wasn’t that quick(although it was pretty busy, so I wasn’t too bothered by this), but — perhaps more importantly — the size and quality of the sandwich was just disappointing. First off, if I’m going to pay $ 7 for a bagel sandwich, it had better be either a decently sized bagel sandwich or one that’s spectacular in other ways, like taste. Unfortunately, my sandwich met neither criteria. It was simple and plain(which can be a good thing), but very poorly constructed. There didn’t seem to be much care taken in making the sandwich. This — again — could be attributed to the busyness, but still, I expected a higher quality sandwich(and bagel in general, especially since this place is supposed to specialize in bagels). Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this place under normal conditions, but given that this area of the airport doesn’t really have many other options, this place will suffice if you’re just looking to grab a bite.

How much can you expect from an Einstein Bagels in an airport? It’s a tasty treat or snack or even a meal before a flight. I strongly recommend asiago cheese bagel, toasted, jalapeño smear. I’ve been eating that for years and I still come back for more.

Ordered the sesame bagel sliced and toasted with maple cream cheese on a thursday afternoon before my flight out of San Diego. Pretty straight forward order I’d say. Much to my dismay the bagel tasted stale and was barely toasted with huge glob of maple cream cheese sloppily smothered on. I was starving and was rushing to catch my flight so I scarfed it down anyway. When I landed from my flight I ended up throwing up the bagel. PRETTYSURE that maple cream cheese was expired because I felt nauseous the rest of the night. :( KILLINMESMALLSEINSTEIN BRUHs. YOUHADONEJOB –____– I didn’t think it was possible to mess up an order as simple as a toasted bagel with cream cheese but i guess anything is possible. Just because you are located in an airport does not mean its okay to compromise on quality!

Einstein Brothers Bagel in the San Diego Airport is a shrug of the shoulder. They have bagels, bagel dogs, sandwiches, salads and beverages. Their location is near the entrance to post-security Terminal 1. The fare ain’t bad, but it is nothing to store in my mind, especially since Einstein Bros Bagels is already to be found all over the country. I waited in line for my bottled Pepsi and a bagel dog. The dog had a Hebrew National frank with a nice, flaky bagel surrounding it. The line moved fast on a Friday afternoon, though I have seen it spike to spinning around much of the terminal at times. They kindly asked if I wanted to have my bagel dog reheated, and I oblidged. They cut a groove into it, so that it was more like a hot dog. That did take about five minutes. The taste was good, which I would hope at the price around eight dollars. Einstein Brothers Bagel is the lesser of Terminal 1’s evils.

3.5 rounded up! Since it was my first time trying Einstein bros and I had never heard of them before, I didn’t really have any expectations. After studying the menu for a bit, I decided to get one of the bagel sandwiches. The service was nothing notable, but they did get my order correct. Being hungover from a wedding reception I attended the night before, and stuck at an airport I was so relieved for that. The sandwich itself was egg, turkey sausage, cheese, on thin sliced bagels. They were well made, warm and really hit the spot. However I did think it was a little odd the they put a gob of cream cheese in the middle of it all, which masked a lot of the flavors of the sandwich. Overall, I really liked that this was an option for me at the terminal we were at and the sandwich was better than your average breakfast sandwich!

Wow, I am extremely impressed with the salad prices. 8 pm on a busy night and I was expecting to spend a lot for the«healthy» airport option. Checking out at $ 6.50 I am satisfied and will return! Other options around the terminal were burgers or hummus trays. I could’ve gone for a bagel, you really can’t go wrong at Einsteins. I love the honey wheat bagel with butter or if I’m feeling ambitious I splurge for the pizza bagel. Although plain Asiago also does the touch. As you can see my bagel options are endless, but for dinner I wasn’t feeling it. They had multiple salad options(and fruit cups) that were not overly airport priced. Water refill station right next door and no line, thanks for making my trip convenient and cost efficient Einsteins!
