If you found out about Rio’s pizza through an advertisement in your hotel room, do not order from them! They are a scam! They take your money, give you the wrong order and you have no way of getting any recourse. I stayed at the Wyndham in SD about 2 years ago and this happened to me. I posted a tip on the Wyndham’s Unilocal page because Unilocal had no listings for Rio’s or El Rio… now they do and apparently they are still up to their dirty games! Beware. I highly doubt there is an actual store front. The pizza I had was toooo close to resembling a Freschetta frozen pizza. The toppings where not what I ordered and when I called back they said the driver would come back with the correct pizza. Never did. Yes, I’m still upset about it! Especially when they are still fooling people and taking their money.

Terrible pizza! Do not buy from here! I was also suckered in with a flyer put under my hotel door. It was late, I was hungry and pizza sounded perfect. I called, they did accept a credit card, but the $ 10.99 large pizza with cheese garlic bread turned into $ 16.90 total. When the pizza arrived an hour later, I was starving. The pizza was worse than a cheap $ 5. Frozen pizza you bake at home. It appeared old, tasted like cardboard, and was luke-warm. The cheese bread was a total lie! It was just bread sticks that were completely cold. Do not buy from here! I regret it and wish I had gotten Papa Johns instead.

The time required to deliver the pizza was 1 hour 50 minutes. The pizza was bland. I asked that the delivery charge be dropped. The person I spoke with on the phone offered to discount it $ 2. Delivery fee is $ 3.50. And he didn’t call the driver to tell him.

This place has terrible service. Their extra large pizza is like a medium. The driver gave us the wrong order which i tried to correct but they didn’t have any follow up. The advertisement said to use your cell and get $ 2 off which we didn’t. Big rip off.

Let me be blunt on this place — it is a pure sick joke to get a lousy pizza here. Made four calls in 150 minutes. One to make an order. Two check calls. And one to cancel. Phone manner is EXTREMELYRUDE. Delivery system is at its GUTTER level. Card payment is PHONYADVERTISEMENT. Customer service is GHETTO. Hope this place learns its lesson… Don’t waste your time and efforts. You deserve better than this crap.

I get back to my hotel after a long day of work and not wanting to leave to find a place to eat. Much like another post I attempted to place an order from the flyer I had slid under my door which clearly had all over it credit cards accepted. So I ask upon calling to validate they do indeed accept cc’s only to be told by the person on the phone. No but they accept cash. Needless to say I said no thanks and sought other options. False advertising and soliciting at major hotel chains is not a way to build your business. Don’t waste your time…

Terrible delivery service, never received my order. So after a long day of traveling I get to my hotel and decide to order a pizza from El Rio’s flyer that was slid under my door. Big mistake. I waited over 1.5 hours and after calling twice to get the status I finally canceled the order and went somewhere else. The kicker is the place is only .3 miles down the road. Save your money and time.
