The aerial yoga is something you have to try. The experience is relaxing, and fun. Depending on your level you can take different classes like Flips & Tricks, and Stretching. The surroundings are beautiful and it is all outdoors, transforming a busy street into a peaceful oasis, with music and silks. During classes you learn new yoga moves while being upside down(in some classes) standing, and sitting, all on silks. Ending with savasana, you leave relaxed and calm. Prices are reasonable, and the Groupons are great deals.

Aerial yoga is AMAZING! My friend and I purchased the Groupon for the aerial yoga classes. We went to our first beginners/foundation class on Wednesday and it was so much fun, I’ve never had a more fun work out! For anyone who wants to try something different for the new year this is a must try!

It was my first time taking aerial yoga and this studio made it so much fun! I took a beginners foundations class with Emma thinking we would learn some basics and maybe one trick but she taught us several flips and helped us through all of them. The class is small so it makes for a nice interaction with other classmates and instructor. The best part is its outside so during shavasana you get to just lie in the hammock and stare at the stars truly the most relaxing experience can’t wait to go back and learn more flips!

Aerial yoga is changing my life! I have had a multitude of back issues that have been dramatically improving since I started practicing aerial at Elka wellness. All the instructors here offer a district and nurturing style as they guide you through this liberating practice where you experience inversion, suspension, and gentle assistance in the silks. Last night I took a class with a woman in her 50’s who had never done yoga in her life. After class she was thrilled with what she accomplished, and it affirmed to me that aerial yoga is accessible to anyone who tries. I am so grateful they have opened up and expect that Elka Wellness will be an exceptional contribution to the community.

Elka has done a beautiful job of transforming this location across from Cat Lounge into a beautiful yoga studio w/big, peaceful zen-like patio out-back for aerial yoga. We drive by nearly every day, so were excited to give it a try. Five of us came in on Sunday(ranging in age from 10, to 20s to 40s) to try out the beginning aerial yoga class with Kaitlin, and it was completely full — 12 people(sign up online in advance to make sure you have a spot). Overall, I really like the concept; you use hanging silks/hammock to enable you to do inversions and other things you may not able to do on your yoga mat. Some things were easier than I expected; some were quite a bit harder. I didn’t expect that those lovely flowing silks would cause so much pressure and bruising on my hips, but apparently, this subsides w/time. Wanted to check out the aerial stretch class tonight, but my hips were still sore, but dropped my 12-year old off, and she really enjoyed it. They have classes for all levels of ability, and a special kids’ class on Sunday at 10:30 a.m., with a new teenager class to be added soon, as well as «Flips and Tricks» class, which my girls are excited to try. I’m not sure it’s my thing, but my kids are hooked; I’ll give it another try, maybe the more traditional«mat» classes inside. Great new addition to the neighborhood!

I have been attending classes for two months now and it’s the best decision I have made in a long time. This is a place for people of all ages and abilities– everything can be tailored to the individual. The instructors are very helpful, encouraging and intuitive to your needs even if they have a full class. No two classes are alike, even with the same instructor, but you always get the same benefit– you leave feeling the most calm you probably ever have in your life. Also, as someone with a herniated disc who has to be careful to not aggravate it(again), my back feels amazing and I haven’t felt any sciatic pain following any class. Parking, which is out of their control, can be a bit difficult so I recommend giving yourself an extra 5 – 10 minutes to be on the safe side and to give yourself time to get set up for class. They provide all the material so you just need to bring yourself!

My chiropractor just told me that my back and neck are in the most relaxed, healthy condition that he has seen in the year that I’ve been seeing him. He asked what I’ve been doing differently for the past month, it’s Aerial Yoga!(and a little tennis, too). No more back pain for for me :-) Thank you.
