Emerald CIty Academy of Rhythmic Gymnastics

My daughters have been involved with Emerald City now since 2010. When we started there were about 40 – 50 girls of varying experience levels, and a few coaches. Now, there are more than 100 girls of varying levels, a dozen world class coaches, and qualified judges associated with the program.
The teams are very involved from recreational level to the Olympic hopeful. They operate out of multiple locations in SD county from 4S Ranch, Miramar College, Alliant University, and even Point Loma.
The directors of the programs are involved, accommodating, fair and truly care about the girls, the development of their talents, and the effectiveness of the program.
If you want your daughters to be strong, graceful, flexible and athletic; give this program a shot. They effectively combine the grace of Ballet, with the strength and flexibility of Gymnastics. The program teaches coordination and confidence along with the beauty of the sport.

My daughter started taking recreational classes at Emerald City almost 2 years ago to increase her flexibility. She found that she really enjoyed working with the different coaches and apparatus (hoop, ball, rope, & ribbon) as well as participating in the different performances. She had fun in class and eventually she decided to join the comptetive team.
We have found the coaches at Emerald City to be amazingly talented and very passionate and knowledgeable about their sport. In addition, they interact very well with the girls and want each one to improve and succeed in their own way. Inspired by her coaches, my daughter has significantly increased both her strength and flexibility and is motivated to continue to improve and learn new skills.
Whether you want to do rhythmic gymnastics for recreation or to train at a more serious level, we have found Emerald City to be a fun and supportive environment to learn and perform.
