Came in for a drink after dinner and really enjoyed it. LOVE the huge tree in the center of the bar– it’s beautiful. That tree — and the Justin Timberlake on heavy rotation lol– is what lured me in. The bartenders are very attentive and awesome. Drinks are a bit pricier than other places. 12 year Macallan = $ 17.

Been eyeing this place for quite sometime. Every time I am at Little Italy I see this cute bar with live Olive tree and it looks so trendy. The ambiance is just inviting. I finally gave in and came here for a late night date. BF and I got out of the house around 9 on Saturday. And pretty much just walked around Little Italy and landed here. We wanted to try their octopus taco, but they ran out by the time we got there. Pretty bummed about that. Instead we ordered the surf and turf. Which is Carne Asada and Lobster taco. And we also ordered Adoba, Shrimp and Fish Taco. This was with the intention of kinda trying most of their tacos. By far the fave was the lobster, then the adobada. My least favorite is actually the shrimp. It was more mediocre in flavor. For drinks we had our fave jack and coke. It wasn’t that strong, and for $ 9 it’s a bit much for a jack and coke. For oft to get the guy’s name, but service was excellent. He was polite and attentive.

nice spacious place — i like the décor and trees in the center of the bar. Finally got to enjoy a moscow mule in a tin mug, i haven’t had it served in a tin mug in a while. DJ played Justin Timberlake all night or maybe it was someones playlist. Definitely a great spot for happy hour, birthdays, hook ups, breakups, chill, GNO, all of the above! Friendly service from the bartenders too.

Came here to watch the Chile vs. Mexico game. Great ambiance and place to hang out and drink. My boyfriend and I shared the carnitas plate which was the perfect amount of food. The cocktails were really good we both really liked the cucumber gin one. Service was good, our waitress was really sweet and attentive. Overall I think it’s a little on the pricey side for Mexican food. I would suggest it as a fun place to drink and watch a game with friends.

Was excited to try out Entrada because we heard the food was good. We walked in about 15 minutes late to our reservation but called and warned them ahead of time. As soon as we got there we were served water and waited for the rest of our party to arrive. When they did, it took about 20 minutes for«skyler» to take our drink order. From the get-go she had major ‘tude’ with us but of course we chalked it up to it being a busy night and having to serve a larger party. We waited another 15 minutes until she brought out our drinks and as she handed me mine she spilled half of it on me. She never apologized even though I was quick to say«don’t worry about it.» Then, as she handed my friend her drink she practically spilled half the drink on the table and all over her phone. Skyler just responded«oh, it’s ok.» Now I’ve never worked in the restaurant industry but I think basic etiquette would be to apologize and perhaps offer to bring another FULL size drink. Our food came, we ate, food was basic Americanized Mexican nothing crazy to make me want to come again especially after our horrible service. As far as atmosphere, they had loud music and a beautiful tree with the bar surrounding it. Lastly, I’ll probably only come back for the 4.99 churro dish which was warm and soft and cinnamony.

This was my second time coming to Entrada. First time was a 5 star experience, this time was the total opposite. Why? Because of our server: Skyler! It was my birthday dinner this past weekend and I had reservations for 12. She came by to get our drink orders, but just seemed to have an attitude right off the bat. It took 30 min to get our cocktails out to us and when they came out, she was handing our drinks out and one of them spilled on my friend and instead of saying«sorry», she says«that’s ok». UMMM ok? She couldn’t have cared less. Then when we ordered apps and dinner, and during the whole thing she’d make the rudest faces as if we were bothering her. She looked miserable all night and everything took so long to come out. Seriously she needs a career change, like maybe doing something on the telephone where people cant see that bitch face she makes the entire time! Even though the she got my order wrong, the food here is VERY yummy, awesome atmosphere, beautiful tree at the bar. Definitely try it but avoid Skyler at all costs!

My new spot in Little Italy. Real, living Olive tree in the middle of the bar? Your own personal Tequilla reposado made by Patron? And my God one of the better margaritas I’ve ever had. Erin and I came after dinner and we were so about it. The staff is cool. Their bar manager uses the stack bar ware and it makes drinks perfectly and consistent. The layout is super cool. Some tables around the outskirts of the restaurant and a gigantic bar top. Great job on hiring. Great staff and very good looking men and women behind the bar. Their productivity was impressive and the detail to the customer was very appreciated. We had a great time talking with our tender as Erin is a bartender downtown and I used to dab in the restaurant life so we usually will chop up our help. 22.00 for a cinnamon highball and a killer Marg. Left an 18.00 tip and ended up with 2 free shots. Ballgame!

ENTRADA is a neat Mexican restaurant/bar/lounge located in Little Italy and offers Mexican eats and crafty cocktails. This place when I’ve came has had a decent crowd and wasn’t that busy the times I’ve came on a weeknight or weekend evening as well. –free chips & salsa –service and food is alright –nice décor inside the restaurant which adds for cute atmosphere –not as crowded as compared to El Camino –lounge/club like speakeasy in the back –good selection of crafty cocktails [cocktail menu lights up] –DJ in the back and spacious dance floor –okay staff. way friendlier and better in the back bar than the front bar

Came to Entrada for taco Tuesday! Right on the outskirts of little Italy, this place is a strange location for a Mexican restaurant. The indoor décor was pretty cool with two giant trees and some awesome murals on the wall to give it a modern Mexican feel. They brought us over some chips and salsa right away and yummm. The chips were seasoned with a bit of chili powder and salt which made a killer combo when paired with their spicy house made salsa. It was happy hour and tacos were $ 2.50 each which was awesome. House margaritas were $ 6 with patron tequila. They were served in regular drinking glasses that were over filled with ice but still pretty tasty. It would have been cool if they served it in a margarita glasses. We had the ceviche and queso dip to start. The queso was sooo gooey and delicious. The ceviche was interesting as you had to mix it with the pico de gallo yourself but it was really lemony and tasty. I ordered the carnitas, adobada, pescado, pollo asado. The carnitas is actually slow roasted for 12 hours which explains why it was so full of flavor. The pescado was my favorite. It was so fresh and had a really great chile aoli on it that added creaminess to the crunchy exterior. I really wasn’t a fan of the tortillas they used. They didn’t really contribute to the dish flavor-wise. These weren’t the best tacos I’ve ever had. The apps and chips and salsa were great and our server was really nice! I felt the whole experience was pretty mediocre for a taco Tuesday though. The music was pretty aggressive and shifted from mariachi to something like dub step. There wasn’t really any excitement in the place like there should be on a taco Tuesday. I think it definitely has potential but it needs a little reinvigorating.

I’ve been here before for drinks during the day but I finally got to try the food!!! Service — great! The last time I was there Crystal was our bartender. She was super friendly, made a delicious michelada, and even tried to help me and my maid of honor plan a bit of my bachelorette party(lol). Food — The chips and salsa are so yummy. I’ve always felt this was indicative of a good Mexican restaurant. We shared the ceviche and it was delicious. I believe the fish used is red snapper. I wasn’t sure if this would work but it did. The ceviche has the perfect balance of salt and lime. I would definitely order it again. For an entrée I had the 3 street tacos. They were all delicious(i had the carne asada, chicken, and adobada) but the adobada was the true star. It reminded me of the adobada tacos you order on the streets of TJ(and this is a compliment!!). It was flavored so well — spicy but not overwhelming. I can’t wait to go back and order it again! Drinks — like I said the michelada was delicious. I’m a wannabe michelada connoisseur and this definitely ranks as one of my favs! They also have a good amount of tequila options(I maaaay have had a shot… or 2). Overall — I think this is one of my favorite new places in Little Italy. It’s more relaxed than some of the other spots that have opened up recently. Definitely a great place to stop by on a sunday-Funday or for a night out. A little birdie told me this place is poppin’ on Saturday night and there is a DJ and a dance floor. I can’t wait to come back and check it out!

This place has a unique setting, there are two trees inside. Fake tress, but trees. When I walked by here, the sign outside beckoned me with Cerveza. So I decided to walk in and try it. It was around lunch time. The place was not all that busy. I liked the bar area right in the middle of the restaurant. Mirrors along one wall that makes the place look larger than it really is. Also, there are quite a few TV’s around the restaurant. Indoor and outdoor seating is available. Some of the indoor seating will also give you a birds eye view of what is going on outside. I sat at the bar. Ordered a Bloody Mary. I ordered some the queso dip to go along with my drink. The service was really fast as far as the drink goes. I waited for the queso dip… and then kept waiting. I thought that it was taking a long time. But could not recall how long ago, that I had ordered my food. Until I recalled that I had done my Unilocal Checkin when I walked into Entrada. Taking a quick look at my Unilocal app, it had been 21 minutes since I had ordered my Queso dip. And had two bloody mary’s since then. The bartender kept telling me that my food was coming. Right when I was ready to tell them to cancel my order since I had waited so long, the food finally came out. It was real queso dip. The tortilla’s looked like the were hand made. They were honestly tasty. The dip was overcooked and burned on the bottom. Note that after about 25 –30 minutes my queso dip came out to me. The queso dip is supposed to be an appetizer. This left me wondering how long my food would have taken had I ordered a meal and not an appetizer, since appetizers are typically served more quickly than the meal. I would probably give this place a try again. However, if I am in Little Italy it would not be my first choice of places to go back to.

This is my second visit so here is my experience. Upon entering, you will notice that they definitely put some money into the décor. The main table area has a sports bar feel to it and the bar area has a night club feel. The employees are attentive which is nice. What can surprise most is the dance floor that this place provides. It has all the look and feel of a Las Vegas Club. At the time of this review, Saturdays are old school hip hop and R & B nights. This definitely draw beautiful people of San Diego. The food is good. The portions are just right! They serve mostly Mexican food which is an interesting move considering that they are in «Little Italy.» Overall, its worth the try and the music will keep you coming back!

Stopped in to check out this trendy new spot in Little Italy, as it looks really eye catching from the outside. We decided to just to get guacamole, salsa & chips first to see what the outcome was going to be and Well… they need help when it comes to the«food» guacamole… if your having issues with that, than I definitely was going to be apprehensive to order anything else. I believe they need to go check out & sample at the Mercato on Saturdays the guacamole there serving, it has incredible taste of amazing flavor. We had excellent service btw. You can’t assume your going to attract clientele with the décor, cerveza & tequilla and than completely drop the ball with the food. You have a hip creative marketable concept but in order for anyone to RE-ENTER— Entrada –FOCUS on the FOOD first. I will see at a later time to return…

A girlfriend of mine said she wanted to take me to dinner in «Little Italy». The entire way from Sierra Mesa to Little Italy I remember thinking how delicious some fresh Italian sounded so you can imagine my surprise when we landed at Entrada and they serve what I call, «Mexican Fusion». The surprise was pleasant and well worth it. I switched palette gears from Italian to Mexican quickly(one of my personal favorite cuisines) and got busy ordering. I had the Queso Fundido which was amazing and the 3 taco combination. You pick the meats for the tacos. Also decided to have a side of rice and beans. The food was«incredible», tasty, and full of flavor. For the $ 9.95 for the 3 tacos the portions were HUGE. I was expecting tiny little street tacos but these were huge 5″ tortilla’s(or bigger) with loads of meat on them. It was absolutely more than I could eat especially with the appetizer I ordered. Not what you’d expect to eat in Little Italy but a pleasant surprise all the same. Full bar, no blender there so no frosty margarita’s but plenty of other choices. Décor is cool with the big fake trees in the middle of the bar and the service was friendly.

My friend chose this place based on the ambiance, which I am always skeptical about. Right off the bat, I was not pleased with how long our drinks took to come out. I ordered a margarita. How hard is that? Was it the salt? Have I asked for too much? Evidently the bar was backed up but the drinks took too long all night long(even after the crowd let up.) No bueno. The apps that we ordered were super tiny. Don’t order two and expect to share them with four people. They’re more single serving. We ordered the cheese dip and the guac which were both good, but again, there wasn’t much of either. For dinner I did three tacos: chicken, chorizo and rajas con queso. I REALLY liked the pork chorizo taco-I could have easily ordered three of them alone.

I came here about a month ago, the night before their grand opening with a few friends. I really liked the décor and atmosphere, the tree in the middle is a great focal point; however, the service and the food needed some help. I shared their Rosarito Caesar Salad with the bf. First off, I will say it was quite difficult to eat because they give you whole leaves of romaine lettuce. The dressing is delicious! You get a hint of chipotle, however for the large amount of lettuce leaves you receive, it isn’t quite enough dressing. They also didn’t include croutons on the dish(although stated on the menu description), so when the server came back to check on us, I asked for the croutons and a little more dressing and sadly, only got the dressing. Oh well? My friends enjoyed their fish tacos. I only tried their Al Pastor taco, and thought it was alright. I expected bright, bold flavors from what was listed on the menu, but it was rather underwhelming. The service there could use some work. I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt, that they’re still a new restaurant and are still working out the kinks. I hope this place works out, I’d definitely come here again to try a few more tacos.

You know what? I was very skeptical of this place but then I went here and checked it out myself and I really liked it! Maybe because I was expecting crap because of the reviews, but I have 4 tacos and really liked them. I can vouch for these tacos because they are the ones I tried: Toluca Chorizo Carnitas Al Pastor They were quite delicious and I found the service to be very good. It was slow so the chef spent some time with us and even showed us the event area in the back. the front door greeter/hostess was very nice too. So I found the place to be hospitable. I’m looking forward to throwing a party here and hope it will be as good an experience of what I’ve experienced already.

Walking up to Entrada Little Italy, we found our friend Chris taking pictures especially for this event. After chatting a bit we walked inside. The lovely Tiffany was wearing a beautiful black sequin dress and greeted us. Rock music filled my ears to the tune of Carlos Santana, awesome! First stop, the bar, ordered a Ballast Point pale ale then found a suitable place to sit. Picked a table close to the front side wall. While my BF was taking pictures I met a fellow invitee, David. During our chat we enjoyed the music. Plenty of appetizer platters were brought by our table. First tray; Ceviche with Ahi Tuna, Avocado, Cilantro, Serrano Chile, Mango, and Fresh Lime Juice. Second tray; Octopus taco with Lemon Glaze, Roasted Corn with Red Bell Pepper Salad, Jalapeño Sour Cream, and Queso Fresco. Third tray; Mahi, mahi taco with Cabbage, Chipotle Yogurt Sauce, Fresh Pico de Gallo. Fourth tray; Braised Pork, Avocado Tomatillo Sauce, Onion-Cilantro Mix. Fifth tray; Tuna with Mixed Cabbage, Bell Pepper, Green Onions, Cucumber, Cilantro and Serrano Chile. Each bite tasted very fresh and full of flavor. Hard to pick a favorite. Next stop we were led down a hallway into another room that contained a dance floor, bar area and generous booth seating. On the far wall across from the bar, I admired the focal point of attractive dimly lit bottles. The hallway has numerous very interesting chandelier’s made with attractive glass decanters.

I attended their VIP opening, and Wow, it was fun! Entrada is a restaurant that has a 1920’s style speakeasy attached. The main bar is huge, encircled by dining booths and tables. I love the two large trees up-lit in the bar that soften the space. A beautiful hallway leads to the 1920s style speakeasy, a large area to lounge or dance the night away! We decided to try out a few things on the menu. I ordered the ahi tuna ceviche. I loved the presentation and it was a enough to share, served w cucumber and chips. I would definitely order that again! My friends ordered tacos that range from $ 4 – 7. Although I didn’t try it, they weren’t impressed by the octopus. I will definitely be back. It’s a unique place away from downtown, kinda clubby but definitely a more mature crowd!
