I’m not an e-recycling expert by any means, but I’ve visited most of the e-waste establishments around town, including the one that never seems to be open, the one that hardly accepts anything, and the one that smells funny. You know what I’m talking about. But Envirogreen Recycling is definitely the best e-recycling place around town! I’m not gonna lie — it helps that this place is in my ‘hood. It also helps that every single time I have been here(and that’s TWO whole times!) the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The first time, one staff member came out into the pouring rain to help me transport my e-waste into the store. The second time, the same employee helped again — and by «help», I mean he carried two desktops, two laptops and a bag of cords all in one trip while I watched. They can drill a hole through your hard drives, if you don’t have the means to wipe it clean. This place is a little hidden — it’s in the strip mall just south of Friars Rd on the West side of Riverdale, in the back behind the other stores.

I had a random bag of old cables and power adapters to recycle, and some batteries to dispose of. I was met by a very friendly woman who took my stuff and weighed my batteries. I was in and out quickly. They only charge $ 0.50/lb for battery disposal, which is half what I’ve seen at other places.

A great business with an owner that cares about sustainability and customer service. FREE recycling of your used electronics and they even offer pick-up service. They also regularly hold ‘garage sales’ of used electronics at a steep discount. Office copiers, computers, fax machines, refrigerators offered at great prices. Keep up the great work!

Louise was very friendly and helped explain how my electronics would be recycled. Thanks a lot!
