Extra Space Storage

I needed storage for less than a month while I was between homes and a customer service rep set me up with a unit that was larger than what I needed but had a promo for first month’s rent free. I ended up paying a setup fee, basic insurance, and for a fairly expensive lock for the unit, so obviously my unit wasn’t «free,» but it was a good deal. I did not have any issues. My one complaint is that they are not open on Sundays, which ended up being my moving day, but I was able to work around that. Would recommend.

DO NOT USE THIS PLACE. COCKROACH INFESTATION.
We recently moved out of our storage unit. During the move, we saw a number of cockroaches in the building/​unit. During the year we were there, we received no notification that there a pest problem, i.e. we had no chance to move our belongings to an un-​infested facility. Our couch and mattress were infested, and spread the problem into our new home. We had to throw out our furniture, and hire an exterminator, costly expenditures all caused by the managements failure to fairly communicate the issues they were having on site. The extent to which Extra Space Storage inconvenienced us and the amount of money that we had to pay out to fix everything far exceeded the value of the items we stored. Our business there was, therefore, a complete loss and a bad investment.
We are currently in contact with the company concerning reimbursement. This review will be updated to reflect their handling of the situation.

I like my service but I came after hours my code does not work and I can not call anyone. Does anyone know of you just dial in your number or pound sign and the number or anything? I do not like that you can’t get in here after 8. But it is safe

Stephen was great and knowledgeable. Very easy setting up my account and renting here. The storage space is perfect for my needs. Overall the business appears neat, and well maintained.

Friendly staff at his location. Storage areas, however, suffer from old age and poor lighting in some internal sections of the buildings which can’t be good if you are alone. You can rent a parking space inside or outside for a vehicle here also. The cost of renting inside is prohibitive. Outside rent is roughly $ 80-​$ 100 per month. While the parking areas outside are fenced off, just about anyone with a gate code number can access these areas which means they can also access your vehicle day or night. Think about that. If you are active duty or retired military, store your vehicle on a nearby base for $ 36.00 per month in an area with much better security.

I’ve been using Extra Space Storage since March of this year. The prices are reasonable (but more expensive than the last facility I used because it was in AZ) and the staff is friendly and very helpful. Last month I was a few days late paying my bill and when you’re late they put their own locks on your unit… understandable… so the day I paid it I needed to get something out of my unit so I called to make sure they took their lock off and they said they would take care of it. Sure enough when I got there about 15 minutes after I called (I live close), the lock was already off. That’s good service!
This is the last month I will need to store my stuff, but if I ever need storage again I will use Extra Space for sure.
