This was my third year attending Fashion Week San Diego and it keeps getting better and better! The last 2 years were at Broadway Pier Pavilion and this year they closed down Wall Street in La Jolla. Super cool and the weather could not have been more perfect. I always love the variety of designers that appeal to every taste out there including kid’s wear, men’s wear, couture to casual, swim wear, and everything in between. The quality of work is evident too — you can tell that each designer pours their heart into their work. If you’re looking for a fun weekend with your girlfriends or to stay current with the trends FWSD definitely needs to be added to your annual events! Looking forward to next year!

I really enjoyed my time at Fashion Week San Diego 2015! I was able to win some amazing VIP tickets which guaranteed my seat so I was able to look at the fashion up close and personal! I think this local event is great because it showcases designers that are up and coming! This year’s event was my first and I would love to come back next year! I’d say that if you have the money, buy VIP tickets because it guarantees you have a seat at the runway(if not, some general admission people had to stand). The trunk show looked like it didn’t have all of the designers because it was very small. However, I enjoyed talking to the designers and seeing the pieces on the rack(instead of on models). A lot of the designers are able to custom make their pieces to fit all types of bodies! If you’re looking for one-of-a-kind pieces, this trunk show is definitely the way to go! All in al, I had such a good time(even on a rainy day)!

So excited for Fashion Week San Diego. I look forward to the new designers every year, and have followed some of them as they rise up through the ranks. Some have shown at Fashion Week in New York. I always wonder how the models can look so good, and not trip in their heels. I would fall right down. This event gets better and better. Pretty exciting that San Diego has Fashion Week, and it’s a first class event, filled with activities and spectacular runway shows. In my opinion, it’s not to be missed!

This was a pretty great event! Amazing location, rad lighting, great clothes and interesting people – and the parking wasn’t even that bad! Win! First off, you check in at the front and walk through the vendor area – not an overwhelming amount, coffee, makeup, delicious looking food, etc. You pass through there to a fancy, neon lit hallway which leads you to the photo booth area, props and all. After snapping away for a bit, you head into the main room with the runway, chairs, small bar and open area leading out to the end of the pier. It’s a cool set-up and, again, the lighting was amazing. The runway show itself was fun! It wasn’t too serious and you could tell the designers enjoyed themselves while thinking up these clothes. There were some beautiful pieces, especially the swimsuits and(oddly enough) the luggage. The music was peppy and fun, the models were very well put together and the audience was extremely into it – everyone hash-tagging this and filtering that. Now, the only reason I didn’t give it the full five stars is because I was sweating my face off. I’m thinking the combination of one of the hottest weeks in the summer mixed with no A/C is what did it, but perhaps it was just me. BUT that’s my only criticism! Other than that it was wonderful and so different than anything I had ever been to – it’s worth checking out.

This event gets bigger and better each year. It’s a lovely setting to watch emerging designers launch their careers. The Broadway pier comes to life with music, models and one if a kind fashions. It is clear to see the work put in by organizers is helping the event run smoother with each passing year. It warms my heart to learn the city council is supportive of FWSD as well. I wish them all the best and will continue to attend every October

Paid for VIP passes to Octobers show cuz I love fashion and wanted to show support to the community that i work and live in… after much anticipation and much cashola paid out for a ticket, Andrews feel short of delivering in a big way. The venue is spectacular, but this isn’t a review of the Pier. The check in process went pretty fast, but its old school with pages and pages of paper lists and pencils lol. The sound and lighting was pretty good, but again. a different review. And I’m still confused… Is this an opportunity for new student designers to practice? or is this where local moderately experienced designers from the socal region are asked to send their collections down the runway for $$ compensation? Don’t even bother going to the shows on thursday night. The models are okay. didn’t see one trip or fall, but hair and make up didn’t accentuate /enhance the collections. I still hold out hope that some day San Diego will have a real fashion week, but by my calendar, this one isn’t it.

Attended one of their events and it was awful, one of the worst events ever. First, there was a long line to check-in at the front. This was due to the fact that they were checking people in by hand using 3 different paper lists AND the names are not in alphabetical order. How stupid and disorganized is that? After an hour of waiting finally got in. The place was empty as people have already left, that’s an indication of how lame this event was. There was only a few clothing vendors with very limited merchandise. On the event description, it said that cupcakes and champagne were provided, turns out a small cupcake was $ 5, wtf? That’s more expensive than sprinkles, and a tiny glass of champagne was $ 9. Can you say ripoff? Once the actual fashion show started, there were only a handful of people there to watch. Very pathetic. The models were just regular people who have no idea how to do the catwalk. Complete waste of time.

Attended for the first time the annual San Diego Fashion Week and it was a great experience! The location was great during these summer nights(weather wise) of October. I could only attend the last night, on Saturday, and had the opportunity to see emerging and already celebrated designers, both local and from other states in the US. Ok, this is not Paris, London or NY, so I wasn’t expecting the glamour of those locales, and even if I like the Broadway Pier, somehow it has an industrial look & feel to it. The chairs could have been more comfortable, for example, but overall it was very well organized and orchestrated. My favorite sponsor was Peroni(first time trying their beer, and loved it, very citrusy and went very well with those Luna bars that were being distributed to the body concious ladies(and some gentlemen too). The music selection was awesome, I was telling my friend Natalya that in some case I was enjoying more the music than the design of the clothing presented. Wishnow was my favorite designer and the models were more at aise, smiling and showcasing beautiful whimsical babydolls(that I would only were for Brazilian Carnival party or some other extreme-fun filled event). The after continued with the performances of DJ Demon from Sleeping Giant Music. By that time, high heeled hyper tall models were mingling with the rest of mortals in perfect harmony.
