This place is a disaster when packed to capacity. The bathroom lines are insane, not much space to dance, very cramped. I had a few drinks spilled on me which could have easily been avoided. Also, the bar areas are in the most inconvenient locations.

Fun, I don’t go out downtown gaslamp often but this was Worth it :-) and once again lady night for memorial weekend was a blast. Lots of ppl no drama and just fun overall. I would def recommend this place for a little dance and fun, it is a bit tight on the dance floor but who says you have to go on the floor lol. We always dance at the table we sit and we are comfortable. Not overly crowded where you cant even walk on between ppl.

If you’re looking for the San Diego Zoo, this might be it. Crowded and full of animals. I watched one guy make out with three different women in a matter of five minutes and several people in desperate, desperate need of a hotel room. If not for the brightly lit, still hot and sizzling cigarette butt that wound up square in the middle of my right cheek, I might have actually gone with 5 stars, but what’s the point of having bouncers and a no-smoking policy if you’re going to let people smoke? I think I still feel the burn. And no, Bernie Sanders, I’m not talking about you. Speaking of smoke, there was so much fake smoke emanating throughout this place, my head eventually started to spin, leaving me with no choice but to abruptly leave. I don’t know how the two rotating dancers on each end of the DJ booth managed to survive all night, but I’m impressed. The two positive things I can say are that the music was boss and the drink prices were reasonable, though I can’t speak for the bottle service. $ 20 cover on the night I went, but that’s still $ 30 cheaper than the actual Zoo.

If you’re thinking about hosting an event at Fluxx, I would choose any one of your alternatives and here is why: I was talking with my friend(she was out with a bachelorette party) when a crew of guys from the table adjacent threw some of their drink which got on me. I was in a conversation when this happened and did not interact with the perpetrators before that. So, I can’t say if it was aimed at me or somebody else, but here’s what followed and how Fluxx ended up very poorly«handling» the situation. I told the guy not to throw alcohol on me. then he tried to apologize and shake my hand. I said, «no… I don’t want to shake your hand you just threw a drink on me. we’re cool, just don’t do it again.» The guy was belligerent and kept trying to shake my hand and I finally had to tell him to back off. He was offended then proceeded to speak with everyone in his crew(who are apparently regulars) to ask the bouncers to throw me out. Drunk idiots? Yes. But they’re not the problem, Fluxx’s response is. The bouncer(s) they contacted came and I explained the situation. Despite this, the Fluxx bouncers told me that those guys are regulars and that the table I was at was comp’ed due to the bridal party. «You have to leave the area.» «We’re not willing to take action against regulars who pay every week for their table.» I decided to leave on my own and asked to speak with the manager. When the manager made his way over he asked me what the problem was. I explained what transpired and his response was, «So what? What do you want me to do? They’re regulars.» At this point, the staff’s lack of training was apparent. I rhetorically asked, «If I buy a table next week can I throw drinks on whoever I want and have them kicked out of the VIP section?» The Fluxx manager said, «No. but we’re neutralizing a situation and you can stay. just not in VIP.» No action was taken against the drunk«regulars» tossing alcohol. Of course, I didn’t want to stay at that point. My recommendation is not to waste your time with Fluxx as this experience convinced me they’re just in it for a quick buck. There is little respect paid by the staff and the bouncers/manager need to improve how they run the business — evidence by the low-scoring reviews on Unilocal. The manager could have offered to comp a drink or a ticket to Fluxx’s next event. However, no effort or small gesture was made. That’s how the night ended. I will be taking my business and 840+ annual tourist guests elsewhere and we will not be going to Fluxx due to this experience. I contacted the owner to share what happened, but have not heard back. Having previously worked in the industry, I’ll say the one positive thing was that the front bar seemed to be well staffed and managed. But that isn’t enough to make up for the poor training of their floor guys. If you’re reading this off Unilocal, you are best to skip this place. I come from Atlanta(with some of the best night clubs in the world) and can tell you from experience that Fluxx is amateur hour across the board. San Diego offers too many great alternatives. Don’t waste your time. or money.

Was set aside by the bouncer at an event I had paid to attend. I asked to speak to the manager to ask why I was not allowed to enter, I shook his hand, introduced myself, and was told that I had a bad attitude and the way I spoke with my hands was rude. I did not receive a refund nor have a valid excuse to be denied entrance.

I have to say I love this club in San Diego, I felt like I was really taken care of along with my lady and my friends as we walked in, we easily got drinks and a section with a table we were able to chill at to enjoy our drinks. The club itself is in a good area and really easy to find. We had a section next to the dj booth and not to mention the drinks. Strong and made really well. The gentleman at the door Kevin and one of the promoters Tina really made this past weekend the best weekends I’ve ever had while in San Diego. I have to say, if you’re looking for a great club to party at, this is the place to be. Thanks again and we will definitely be back.

I was surprised by how much a really enjoyed this place. This is like the epitome of what an ultra-lounge on the west coast should be. It has an upscale sort of exclusive vibe that was super nice. You felt like as soon as you walked in to the door you were VIP. They’re equipped with a couple different bars and a giant recessed dance floor right in the middle of everything. The staff and security did a pretty good job of keeping everything under control and keeping major walk ways clear. The music was almost all EDM(you need ultra beats for and ultra lounge) with a little bit of top 40 thrown in also. Obviously drinks are expensive, but you can’t take it with you when you go. Go to this place and live it up.

I am going to give it 5⁄5 for the following reasons. The staff/security are friendly. They welcome you and you can tell they are just a chill group. The atmosphere here is great! I loveeee love the music. I’m a big EDM fan but the music was a good variety. EDM, hip-hop, reggae, modern, old school and more. That’s what really surprised me the most. The people here are not as stuck up as most clubs I been too. They don’t try to act«cool» or «high class.» I had a complimentary drink which was great. Not sure the prices of drinks but I would expect it to be high. Bathrooms, were clean! I went during a Friday night so I am not sure it that makes a difference.

This club prefers people who are flashing money and showing off vs fair paying people. The club did not tell us about a 20% gratuity forced charge. Then when I asked about the charge and they said it was not a gratuity charge Even though the receipt said«tip» on the charge. They were being very unreasonable about us paying anything below the forced 20% tip. This club was nice — but the unfair charges were a disgrace. Hopefully they learn to treat their customers equally.

This is one of my worst experiences downtown. First of all the crowd is not good. I am not coming to a nightclub that allows moshpits. I payed good money to see Party Favor and Valentino Khan. I saw Valentino and left before Part Favor even came on. I was out of the club before 12:30am. Do not call yourself upscale. Who let these children in?! Half of these guys were probably 18. I am not buying drinks so that I could push people around on the dance floor. I came to have a good time and that is not what you will get at Fluxx. The bartenders and bathroom staff were on point. The security by the dance floor however need to put an end to ridiculousness as soon as it starts. I’ve hit other clubs in downtown San Diego and had a lot more fun. My advice is to check out those venues.

This place is horrible. «Upscale nightclub» sure… If I have to ask more than once for the nightclub to not moshpit this isn’t upscale at all. The crowd is rowdy and rude… I was pushed and shoved several times… The security has no control… Worst clubbing experience ever! «I can’t do anything unless there’s confrontation» is what one guard told me. Well I’m confronting you all now to say to not waste your money or time at this venue. I even told the security guard who watched it happen the first time and he just let it happen again. Unless you’re a child using a fake ID you will not have fun here… I’ve had much better experience at Omina and Bassmnt.

DONOTWASTEYOURTIME. The worst nightclub I have ever been to. Bouncers are rude and all they want you to do is give them money. BECAREFULWITHTHEM. They took my ID because they suspected fraud. I had to explain to them then they asked me to pay them money to return the ID and let me go in so I had to call the cops to get me my ID back. I got my ID back but I will never go back again and I am in the process to file a case against them because they abused me. So I am just here to warn all of you guys to NOTTOGO to fluxx.

I came to FLUXX to listen to a DJ play(Trippy Turtle?) and while the music and interior was pretty decent, my night was ruined by the bouncers. Getting in was the first challenge. Not only were we greeted with attitude, the bouncers set the cover high for our party of 5 attractive girls and 3 guys. I’ve never had an issue getting into clubs/bars without cover before, but these guys were not playing around at all. There was no chance of sweet talking them. We were finally able to negotiate a reasonable price to get in. To be honest, this place is not really my scene based on crowd or music, but I really appreciated that it was not packed with sloppy drunks like most of the clubs I’m used to are. Towards the very end of the night, my cousin and her friends stepped out for a smoke, but the bouncers would not let them back in. The bouncers kept telling them to go to the person up in front(there was no one up in front), and then basically told them it was too bad. They claimed the same bouncers who checked our IDs in the beginning of the night were somehow unable to check them at the end? I think it was just a lousy excuse. The bouncers were more than rude and not accommodating at all although they watched them step out and the show was ending in the next 20 minutes. I noticed the bouncers mistreatment of people on multiple occasions at this club. While trying to get the rest of our party back in, I noticed that the bouncers used unnecessary force towards some of the drunker people outside, including yelling and cursing at them, handcuffing them, tackling them, and refusing to let people take their drunk friends home. And inside the club, I witnessed somebody get pinned to the floor by a bouncer and then dragged out the club. I don’t think attacking people is a part of their job description. Nonetheless, just makes me think this place is grimy and I won’t be back.

I hate to give a place with such potential a 3 star review but I was not impressed with the price for the quality! Yes the drinks are strong and the music is loud, but the drinks are pretty pricy and the music is not that good. The DJ that was spinning the night we went had no clue how to read a crowd! No one was dancing at all! Only bobbing their head to the bass that overwhelmed the music itself. The«VIP bottle service» was HELLA expensive for one bottle, vodka was $ 144PLUS an auto gratuity of $ 80 so it was well over $ 200 for a spot on the side lines with half of a rope separating us from the general admission! Girls get in free, guys: $ 20! And the guys have to stand in line even tho we had the VIP access! Staff wasn’t friendly at all and were quite rude! One of the only reasons why it got 3 stars rather than 2 was the fact that if you asked the(mediocre) security to take you to the bar to get a drink, if you were a girl, they would escort you to the bar and get you to the front of the line. They would also escort you to the restroom and back to your«table» I won’t be coming back any time soon! Just go to OMNIA club for great music and ok prices! The lines are hella long too to top it all off…

I’ve been here a few times for clubbing and always had a good time. They change the décor every so often, so it always looks nice and different. Recently, I came here for the Farm to Turntable event and was surprised that my boyfriend bought a few shots for us since we don’t usually drink. Since I don’t like the taste of alcohol, he ordered 2 lemon drop shots and 2 cherry bombs for both of us. I already felt buzzed after one drink! My clubbing days are pretty much over, so I probably wouldn’t come here unless there was another event like this.

Fluxx has been a staple in San Diego for quite some time now and it is still going rather strong despite the emergence Omnia. This club is still a great time and has some pretty good performers come through. The layout is rather modern and table service gets quite a bit of attention from the wait staff, which is pretty good. General admission can be a bit tough, especially on Friday and Saturday nights. Overall recommendation is to come early if not getting a table and enjoy your night! Pros– Layout Music Performers Table service Location Easy über access Cons– Pricey Pretentious bouncers Crowded

Came in for a private event during a conference and it was great. The staff was very friendly and the location was great. The DJ played music from all decades and it just made the event a great success. I also appreciate the extra TLC given in the ladies room so be sure to tip the ladies making sure everything is clean! I haven’t been for a regular night but I assume it’s always packed. Location is great and so is the dance floor.

I’ve only come here on 2 occasions and both times have been because it was an After Party event. For this particular visit, it was to see Diplo for the Mad Decent After Party. Luckily, we got here early and found a spot to chill near the VIP tables. Throughout the night, I saw the place get so packed to the point where you couldn’t even move. They pack this place tight with no regard for maximum capacity, I guess. Also, the club got really hot because the A/C couldn’t keep the place cool enough with all those bodies/body heat in there! Even Diplo said it was hot in there. I felt like I was dancing in a sauna and I walked out as if I had been working out. I was drenched! Overall, the place is okay. I really only came to see Diplo and didn’t really care where the After Party was held.
