We have played around with a few other CSA’s(Seabreeze Organic Farm, Suzie’s Farm, Be Wise Ranch Organic Farm, etc) but due to odd pick up hours, rotten food, smaller than expected basket size, cost, etc we have never been completely smitten for any of them and sadly broken it off each time. Then came Good Neighbor Gardens(GNG)! A small business with a tasty heart, soul and community purpose. Since there is no pick up spot near us, Mia graciously drops our share at our front door. Making sure to text that it’s there so we don’t lose it to our furry Neighbors. We get the«regular share», which is a TON of food and cheaper than any other CSA we have tried. Each bag is always an interesting mix of knowns and unknowns. Beets, mixed peppers, eggplant, radishes, kale, arugula, various herbs, flowers, melons, various cucumbers, figs and berries to name a few. OH! and one week we got a caramel apple pie! In addition to fantastically fresh weekday meals, this awesome selection has turned me into a mini canning machine. So far I have made: *Bourbon Maple Pickles *Garlic Dill Pickles *Mustard Seed & Peppercorn pickles *Strawberry Vanilla Jam *Strawberry Balsamic Jam *Mixed Pepper Jelly *Butter Roasted Tomato Jam Feels good and tastes great to finally be a committed CSA relationship with no plans of breaking up!

I Love Good Neighbor Gardens! They have an amazing business model — growing organic food right in the local neighborhood and gleaning the extra to deliver as a Community Sustained Agriculture(CSA) farm. I’ve always loved supporting CSA farms, but this is over the top smart! My friends order a bi-weekly share of produce which I get to enjoy too — it’s always tasty, extremely fresh, and has a great variety, even during the winter months when there isn’t much growing in the area. I highly recommend ordering a regular share — you would be supporting a community based food growing strategy that is highly sustainable, which I personally love.
