Aileen is an extremely talented and professional hair stylist! I’ve been dyeing my own hair with box dyes and finally decided to get it professionally done, and I’m so glad I came to Aileen. She was able to achieve my desired look in only two sessions. Today I went to see her for a haircut and toning, and the result was amazing! Aileen listens to what you want and communicates with you, and I will definitely keep going back to her in the future.

I come to this salon because of Trai. I trust him with my hair and he always do an amazing job! Overall, this salon has friendly workers who always welcome the person that walks in.

Margaret is awesome! She has done my make up for many shoots and is awesome! Definately! go to her before your big event, wedding, shoot or holiday!

Recently I had a very unprofessional disagreement with one of the hair dressers over email. It had been 10 days since I had reached out to her, only gotten one message back, and STILL had not even booked an appointment. I told her how I felt it was very unprofessional to leave customers waiting to hear back for days at a time and I won’t be needing her services anymore.
Rather than her apologizing for her untimely responses to my inquiries or politely disagreeing with me and my views, she was extremely juvenile. Saying catty, sarcastic remarks and further proving her unprofessionalism to me. I was referred to come here by a friend and my interaction with the business was very off-​putting. I don’t support businesses that values «proving the customer wrong» and arguing with them, rather than trying to maintain face and professionalism.
This review of course has nothing to say about the quality of their work, because I wont experience it to ever know. I just believe customer service starts from the moment you pick up the phone, and you guys couldn’t even win over a customer with something as simple as that.
*Ironically, she managed to find the time to diligently argue with me all evening, when originally she couldn’t message me back more than once over 10 days, just to book an appointment. If only she could have been that fast at booking my appointment.

First impression, Nice light through the front window, greeted by friendly faces. Now for the cut… my hair is medium brown, long, and a bit dull, which is why I came. I told Trai (Try) that I wanted to cut it off and go kinda red, big change for me! He helped me select a color red violet not fire engine red but something that would really look great in the light. When he offered wine, I happily excepted and was rewarded with a nice large glass of white wine to sip while he set up my color. We chatted while he colored, washed, cut, blow dried and styled. It was a treat for me and came out beautiful! My hair has bounce and body. I love it, the color and cut are great! I’ll be back again and again!

I went here this past weekend for Trai Nguyen and he dyed my hair for me and I love it. His work is just getting better and better and he’s great at what he does!!! Thanks Trai!

Gercy is the best! Have been a client of hers for almost 3 years now and couldn’t be happier! She always understands what I want and does a great job! I’ve had weave extensions, cut, color and ombré and balayage done by her and have not been disappointed! Her scalp massages and signature blow dry are amazing!

Vy is absolutely amazing!!! My hair was destroyed by a previous hair dresser and I hated it, and even though it was a challenge I’m sure, she gave me exactly what I was hoping for. My hair is so beautiful now it needs to be in pintrest :) Vy, you are amazing thank you!!!

Yesterday I got my hair cut and balayaged by Aileen and it turned out perfectly! I showed her a picture of what I was looking for even though I know stylists can’t produce the exact same results and she gave me what I wanted and more!

I have been coming to Gorgeous Salon for over 9 years and I have serious trust issues going to any other salon because Cindy is my hair savior. I have thick African American hair that is impossible to comb through. Every time I leave the salon my hair is silky soft and dead straight without the damaged look that a lot of relaxers can do to hair. I also get the Brazilian Blowout once or twice a year which makes my hair feel frizz free and healthy. If you have African American hair that you want to grow out and protect Cindy is seriously the best hair stylist for you.

So happy I met Vy from Gorgeous Salon by chance as she did my hair for a bridal photo shoot a few months back. She did an amazing job then, making my hair fit the 1920s style theme perfectly!
Recently I went to her for a color and trim at the salon. I wanted the color to match my clip in in extensions and she was spot on with it (not easy considering I had different colors throughout from old ombré that was still holding onto the ends).
A few days after that, she did my hair and makeup for my engagement photo shoot and I absolutely LOVED what she did. I’ve gotten many compliments for the look she created. Wishing I could pack her in my suitcase for the cross country east coast wedding in a few months, she’s that good.
Oh, and also have never had a problem finding street parking nearby at the salon which is a nice perk as sometimes you don’t know how that’ll be with different areas of San Diego.

I came here because my regular stylist (at a different salon) was booked up solid for two months, and I was ready to pull my hair out because my hair was so overgrown!
Cindy was so awesome! She came in early on a Saturday to fit me into her schedule (I had only called the day before to see if she had any availability), and that was so wonderful in itself! She gave my hair a much needed trim, a wonderful wash, and then asked if I wanted my hair straightened (which NEVER happens)! I really wanted it straightened, but know my hair, and it looks thicker than it is, so it’s no easy job. She said she had the time and would gladly do it — so I did! OMG she knows the proper technique, tools, temperatures, and product to make ANY hair bone straight — even mine! The Unite products that are used/​sold here are amazing (Cindy said the product chooses which salons it will be in), and the straightening/​shine products she put on worked wonderfully!
I was SO happy with my on-​the-​whim straight hair that I HAD to have her straighten it for my sister’s wedding (I was going to do it myself, but my hair has never been straighter in my life)! Go to Cindy for your curly hair cut and to get it sexy straight ;) you will not be disappointed! Great prices too!

I’d never found someone I fully trusted with my hair… until I met VY PHAM! She is the best! She gives me exactly what I want, and always teaches me something new to try (styling products & tools.). I followed her over to this salon and will definitely be a life-​long client. You will never be disappointed with her!

Aileen never disappoints! My hair was feeling super dry and unhealthy so I scheduled an appointment for a cut with layers. Ugh, I am so happy with my hair! It’s softer, I don’t have any split ends, & my layers are exactly how I wanted them! Her work is flawless :)

I never ever do anything to my hair besides cut it every couple of months. I decided that I wanted to do change it up! Every gal has got to do something drastic to their hair once in their life, right?
I found out about Gorgeous Salon through Instagram. I was looking up tagged photos of balayage and found Aileen’s work. I really loved the way she did her client’s hair, and was able to book an appointment with her via email.
Aileen is super outgoing and fun to be around. She does your hair the way you want it, and will fix it if you don’t like the outcome. The first time she did my hair, I wanted it to come out lighter. She wasn’t available to fix it because another client was coming in, and was glad to make room for me the week after to get it fixed. When I came back the week after, she made my hair the way I wanted it. It was absolutely beautiful and there was no damage.
Aileen’s work is worth every penny, and I look forward to coming to her again. If you plan to book with Aileen, book at least two weeks in advance. She’s highly demanded, but she is WORTH it. I can’t imagine going to anybody else!

I’ve been seeing Aileen at Gorgeous for more than 2 years now, and after each color session, I always leave with a smile! I also wanted to address that some ladies who left recent reviews here just don’t understand that balayage or ombré on darker hair actually takes either a full day of bleaching and rebleaching, or a second session (SESSION 2, by the way, is NOT called a «color correction» lol).
Recently, I asked Aileen to do a balayage style coloring on me but several months prior to this I had asked her to dye my hair dark brown. Aileen explained that starting out with dark hair and going BLONDE will need to take two sessions. I immediately understood, and even though some may argue that there are hairdressers out there who can do it in one day for a 6 – 8 hour session, not all hairdressers have the bandwidth to do that.
Aileen NEVER rushes any of her work. Aileen did my session 1 in 2 hours tops, and she did a great job on being professional and efficient. My hair became significantly lighter than what I came in with (dark brown to a very nice balayage– see my uploaded picture for reference). I was pretty happy with the first session already, and 2 hours was definitely enough time for hair to bleach out for SESSION 1.
Two weeks later, I came in for SESSION 2. The result of session 2 was FANTASTIC– I could not have been happier with my hair. This session took a little less than 2 hours, and I was amazed with how much my hair was able to be bleached without drying out too much. Aileen told me she uses a new product called Olaplex– a product that will prevent your hair from becoming too crispy during the bleaching process.
I stand by my comment on how I leave Gorgeous Salon each time with a smile. Aileen has done wonderful coloring work with my hair (from red, to various shades of brown, and now balayage), and she has always been efficient on time. It is truly difficult to find a hair dresser who understands your hair so well and puts your time before her own.

Got my hair done today by Aileen! Let me just say WOW!!! She listened to what I wanted and did exactly that. I’ve had a few times when I would ask for a trim from a hairdresser and they would hack off 4 inches. Aileen didn’t chop away at my hair super quickly so it made me feel really comfortable.
She also did a Balayage/​ombré on my virgin hair. I was nervous to go super light but still wanted to be light at the ends. I showed her a picture and I said «just a tad darker than that» and she knew exactly what to do. Also my hair doesn’t feel or look fried/​dead, and the huge difference in my hair has gotten me a lot of compliments.
Also in the time I had to wait for the dye to set, she pulled up a chair and we just talked about everything. She’s lovely to have a conversation with, very friendly! I enjoyed talking to her, and it was great to see someone understand my sense of humor lol!
Wouldn’t change a thing!
