An absolutely fantastic place! They serviced my Mercedes and I couldn’t be happier. Recently I had them do the wheels and the results were just as impressive. Matt, the general manager is a stand up guy, always willing to help. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

All their technicians are factory trained to work on Mercedes and Porsche. This was important to me. I didn’t want to just take my car to any old «foreign car» mechanic. They are also factory trained on other German cars but since I only own a Porsche and Mercedes, I didn’t look into it.
Their place looks amazing. It is so clean inside the service area, you feel like you could eat off the floor. Everything is all shinny and new.
I was an old Heinz Gietz Mercedes customer at their downtown La Jolla location for 20+ years. When they closed that location, I switched to San Diego Mercedes. I wouldn’t say that I received bad service at San Diego Mercedes but it wasn’t anything special. I definitely wouldn’t write home about it. I lease my Mercedes so I figured it would just be easier to take it to San Diego Mercedes since the car is under warranty. The experience reminded me how much I missed Heinz Gietz Mercedes. I had my Service B done at San Diego Mercedes and it was significantly more money than it would have cost me at HG Motorsports. In addition, San Diego Mercedes made me wait over an hour for a loaner car. Last week, my brake wear warning light came on. This time, I took the car to HG Motorsports. Big difference! Unlike San Diego Mercedes that charges you for a loaner car, HG gives you one for free.
In addition, for a small fee, they will even pick up and drop off your car at your home or work.
If you decide to drop your car off, their location is only two exits away on the 5 freeway. It literally took me less than 10 minutes to get there. It is right off the exit. They will also allow you to drop off your car at Enterprise rental car in La Jolla — the one right next to the Mobil Gas station on La Jolla Village drive.
I took my Porsche there last week for an oil change and alignment.
Great service. I only have wonderful things to say about them. My only regret is that I didn’t go to them sooner!

Had an R35 GTR, and Daniel, as well as the rest of the HG staff always took care of all my car needs. Great performance shop, high quality maintenance, and even better customer service. I’d trust them with a Porsche 918… If I had one.

HG is an awesome shop! Neema is my go to representative and he is a great guy. They have worked on 2 of my cars and done impeccable work (some custom) on both. Everything from the waiting area to the shop area is extremely clean. The techs are all friendly and outstanding at what they do. They have everything from alignment to dyno machines. I have seen cars ranging from Evos to M3s to Murcialagos here. It seems as if they have specialized techs for each brand. You may pay slightly more here than elsewhere but if you worry about your car, it is well worth the peace of mind.

These guys are amazing my husband brought my car in for a major fix and they really took care of my car and put heart in to every little thing they do. Neema is extremely helpful and they really do have the best possible pricing. You won’t find a better or cleaner specialty shop anywhere else I highly recommend them for anything major or fun on a sports or high line car

Daniel and John helped me put new rubbers on my GTR, not only did they do a great job and was very informative. John actually was meticulous enough to catch a few other issues with my shock and transmission seal. Will need to have them replace before my warranty is up!

If you would like your car to be screwed up then this is the place to go. The customer service is on another level, meaning worse than you have ever experienced before. You give them a small job and it takes them 3 weeks with tons of bullshit excuses. Couldn’t take your car to a worse shop to get upgrades done. I would give a –100 stars if possible. Don’t mind them charging you about 4 times retail prices on your parts, because they will sure do that as well. Enjoy your experience at this shop that will soon be closed.

These guys exemplify professionalism to the highest degree. The shop itself is immaculate and can handle anything from basic maintenance to class compliant race prep. Do not be fooled by the race cars and supercars that occupy the space; HG values their customers regardless of the car they drive. Believe it or not, their fabrication prices are very reasonable especially considering the attention to detail that goes into the work. Special thanks to Neema, Omar and Blaise.

I been a long time customer of HG Motorsports. They have worked on my Evo X and also my GTR. One of the best service all around! I recently got my GTR lowered with new wheels, carbon fiber lip/​side extension, Exhaust, and camber adjustment parts installed by them. You will not find this kind of service and professionalism anywhere else!

HG Motorsports is as good as it gets. Best shop in San Diego to get work/​upgrades done on your car. The service that they provide is above and beyond. I took my BMW F30 335i M-​Sport in to get an Akrapovic exhaust and I am so glad I came to HGMS. Daniel helped me with the whole process and he really cares about what he does and treated me first class. Everyone that worked there seemed so knowledgable about everything. Daniel took my on a tour of HG and I got to see some really special cars and how nice the shop is. The exhaust they installed on my car never touched the ground and was taken care of perfectly. I am so glad I chose HG to get work done on my car and would without a doubt tell anyone else to go to HGMS!

I am so glad I found this place. My neighbor told me about them, I took my Maserati there to get my alignment checked since my wheel was curbed by valet. I was happy to hear that they have the same exact alignment equipment as the Maserati Ferrari dealer and can do factory service works at less than half the price. They even arranged with the wheel repair company to come and repair my curbed wheels. I know I will be going there as the one-​stop shop for all my Maserati repair needs. The staff were quite knowledgable and professional. Nick was the one who handled my car and I am, definitely impressed with his professionalism.

I went and toured HG Motorsports with a friend who had work done there before. Daniel took me on a shop tour. I was very impressed right away. So I decided to let them upgrade my 14 GT-​R to the HG 700 hp package. The car now drives and sounds amazing. This is how Nissan should have sold the car from the factory!
My experience is that Daniel and John are very knowledgeable and will go the extra mile to take care of you. I dropped off the car and picked it up a few days later a completely different beast, exactly like I wanted it. I didn’t have to do anything, just show up and drive it. I must have asked a million questions and both were extremely patient with me and explained everything in detail.
John, the tech working on my car, is a former GT-​R Tech. To become a GT-​R tech, first you have to become a Nissan Master tech, hold all 8 ASE certs, and then go through the GT-​R certification process. This is a major feat. HG has 1 more GT-​R tech than most Nissan dealerships in the area. No wonder they have a constant stream of GT-​Rs there. I was on travel while they worked on my car, and I needed to pick up a part from nissan, so John went and picked up the part from Nissan for me. That is service!
I also like the fact that they have an AWD dyno and can custom tune the car. I was a bit weary of e-​tuning, and having the ability to custom tune removed that fear completely.
When you want top notch quality, HG will NOT disappoint.

The meticulous work they perform is obvious after you have work done on your car by them. I had my KW Clubsports installed and set by them as well as an alignment. I was suprised by the quality of work they pride themselves in. This isn’t some hole in the wall shop but a true tuning shop that has technicians that know what they’re doing. I got tired of getting work done by shops that leave your car in a worse off shape than how it went in. All the guys are knowledgeable and actual car guys that keep up with the new products that are constantly being released. I brought my CLA45 AMG here and I can’t believe just how well they were able to set everything up and the quality of workmanship they provide. I’ve found my car’s second home and can’t wait to go back and get some more work done by true enthusiasts! Not one regret even though I drove two and a half hours to get there from the Los Angeles area! Good job guys!

First let me say that I’m incredibly picky when it comes to who is going to touch my car. I toured a few places in San Diego (won’t mention them by name) and HG was the only one that passed.
I have a brand new 2015 GTR which I had converted to flex fuel and a complete exhaust installed with a tune to finish. They also out on some diffuser fins, after market flappy paddle shift levers, and some other things. Job well done.
I expect my parts to not be lying around on the ground, mechanics to wear gloves and change them when touching interior parts of my car, and for the vehicle to come back looking as good if not better than when I left.
Dieter and his boys take care of you with the white glove service. Some of you may not care about that but you’ll get it as a bonus when you take you car to be serviced or modified.
My GTR now has 690HP and is a Ferrari killer. I won’t take my cars anywhere else. My wife’s E63 AMG is next on the list and I refer everyone I know to them.

I got to say, there are few places I trust with my car, but this is one of them. All the work they have done for me is quick and top notch. The cars they have built are out of this world, but best of all the staff at hgms is second to none. Dieter, Neema, Mike, Omar, Jon and the rest of the HG crew are very knowledgable and down to earth. For the quality of work coming out of there, the price is unbeatable. I would definitely recommend going there to anyone and everyone! They are a very welcoming group of people who know how to take care of cars!

Huge shout out to the WHOLE crew over at HG Motorsports for doing incredible work. They installed a full BMWCCA/​SCCA spec roll cage on my E36. I was expecting a roll cage, but Colin created a work of art. I’m almost scared to take it out on the track because it’s so pretty. If anyone wants to modify their car at all, I will ALWAYS mention HGMS first.

Dieter and Michael are stellar. Symbolic Motors recommended them. I’ve known of HG for years as a La Jolla resident. They’ve caused me to fall in love with my car. Amazing service and the very best equipment. I’m thrilled.

Finally a performance shop and tuner that can do almost anything you can dream of!!!
My dream was a car that was stupid fast but also quiet. Normally the 2 do not go hand in hand. So I have had the stupid fast part covered but it was also stupid loud and if you stood behind the car for long the exhaust fumes would give you lung cancer in a few min. Air quality coming out of the back of the car and if I had the windows down in the car the pollution was similar to China.
My wife hated riding in the car because of the exhaust fumes and it also was nearly impossible to talk on the phone inside the car because it was soooo loud.
Other shops had told me I had an impossible dream and they did not want to try and solve my problem but then I met Dieter.
Dieter said no problem I will make if quieter and FASTER. I thought to myself, no way is he going to make it faster and quieter. I was not even asking for faster just same as it was but quieter. Thinking this was some kind of sales pitch I made him put that in writing with a guarantee.
So HGMS set out to build a 100% custom turbo back exhaust. After about 2 weeks I go to pick up my car and what do you know it is 14% faster and quiet enough to talk on the phone inside the car and now it is running with not just 1 cat but 2, so the air coming out of the car is just as clean as the air going in. Who says you cannot go «green» and go fast :)
William Knose did the tuning there and the car now pulls like a beast. Not only does the dyno show the improved power it also shows the car pulling harder over a larger rpm range. William Knose is about as good as they get when it comes to tuning.
I have also had them work on an M3 and Ferrari 360.
Just a first class team of people that can do almost anything.
