Hillcrest Smog Test & Auto Repair

I brought my car here for 60K maintenance. The Mazda dealership quoted me at $ 550 for this service. I got my oil changed and tires rotated here for $ 99! They did a full check up and informed me that nothing else needed to be changed. The service was wonderful! You officially have all of my future business!

I had to get my car serviced twice in one week at the beginning of January, for brakes and for suspension — two significant repairs. I just moved to the Hillcrest area 6 months ago from Hawaii and didn’t have a clue where to take my car. Luckily, I saw the excellent reviews for Hillcrest Smog and Repairs on Unilocal and went there. Quan could not have been more helpful and the mechanics did an excellent job with both repairs for a very reasonable price. This place processed my smog check in under 20 minutes. I wish I had sent my husband here months ago for his vehicle because it was only $ 40. Definitely recommended. The lady who seems to run the place is super sweet, informative, and provides good customer service!

Walk in around noon time during the week for smog check, out in 20 min. Passed the test. Flat $ 40 total charge for an SUV. Efficient and no nonsense. Will come back.

My experience was pretty much the same as everyone else’s. Pulled up during my lunch hour. was approached immediately by a nice lady, told her I needed a smog and she said it would be $ 40 total. I could wait or go grab a coffee. I decided to stay and I’m glad I did. It took no more than 20 minutes! Paid my money and was out of there in a heart beat! I will be going back in a couple of years when its time for my smog again.

I wish I could give this place a thousand stars — Quan saved me well over $ 2,000 today and I am beyond grateful for her team’s knowledge and honesty.
After my car breaking down yesterday, the team at Hillcrest Smog & Repair saw a leak coming from my engine block and the mechanic (amazingly) remembered a customer mention that ’08 Honda Civics had an extended warranty issued for leaky engine blocks. Quan called her Honda contact to confirm that this would likely (and miraculously) be covered through Honda.
As I sit now at the Honda dealership after hearing that I will be getting a brand new engine at zero cost, I can’t believe my luck and I can’t express my gratitude for Quan’s team spotting this, somehow knowing there was a recall warranty, and being — not just honest with me — but super helpful on how to handle it with Honda. A thousand stars, thank you Quan!!!

The customer service was wonderful! They are efficient and my smog was done within 15 – 2 minutes. It cost $ 40 and i didn’t find anywhere that was Cheaper.

I took my vehicle here for a smog check a few weeks ago. I found the price they quoted was about $ 10 cheaper than every other place in the general area. I pulled up, told them what I needed, and they gave me a time frame. I started playing on my phone and within 20 minutes my smog test was done and I was out the door.
It looks abandoned and/​or rubbed down, but let me say this place is a service station gem in Hillcrest /​Mission Hills.

I was in and out in less than 20 minutes with smog certificate in hand!
Also when I was waiting, I overheard the attendant encouraging a customer with a problem to go bak to where they had the original repair done. She could have simply quoted a price and taken the job but she was looking out for the customer and thought that whoever did the repair would make it right. That is integrity!

GREAT SERVICE.
I was recommended here by a friend and after reading reviews online decided to take my car in for a much needed repair. The customer service was awesome and fast, they let me drop my car off at 7 before the show was even open so I could get to work on time. They figured out the issues with my car in a few hours and suggested what I need to do in case I didnt want to leave my car with them but let me know they had the part in stock and could get it done by the end of the day. I couldn’t get there till late cause of work again and they let me pick it up after hours. Overall just really great workmanship, a reasonable price and total efficiency, which was the most important thing for me cause I can’t go more than a day without a car for work purposes.
I highly recommend taking your car here.

Still a great little shop, fast, honest, competitive pricing. Did my smog check here again this year, no changes to price or service… a flat $ 40, 20 minutes, no hassle. So glad this place is still alive and well! Great location, close to lots of shops and restaurants where you can easily while away your waiting time and not have to pay for parking in Hillcrest!

It was time to get the smog test done on my car, and after overpaying last time around, I figured I should call around for a quote. I called 2 other shops and they quoted me $ 50 and $ 60, and then I called Hillcrest Smog Test and they quoted me $ 40 with no reservation required. Done and done. The place is small, with some worn out signs marking it’s location on the southwest corner of 1^st and University.
Upon arrival, I was immediately greeted by one of the mechanics. He quoted me the $ 40 price and began working on the car right away. About 15 minutes later the inspection was complete (it passed!), I paid, and was out the door. Couldn’t have been more than 20 minutes. Well done Hillcrest Smog!
