I really love this cottage, it is bigger than most of the other International Cottages in Balboa Park. It is wide and open and very tall ceilings so you do not feel claustrophobic. I love looking at the cabinets that have various pieces and artifacts from Spain. I was surprised to learn there are bagpipes used in the Galicia region of Spain and displayed in one of the cabinets!
Always interesting to talk to the various volunteers that spend their time in the cottage when opened on Sundays 12−5pm.
They always have a DVD playing with various pictures of cities all over Spain or famous artwork from Spain. They do have light refreshments available for a small donation.
