My second visit was AWESOME. The pedicure was heavenly. The chair tilts back and you are OUT like a light! It was a relief not to sit in crazy vibrating bacteria laden jet chair like at the scary $ 10 pedi shops. My massage was great– the therapist let me pick the scent of the oil based on a questionnaire which narrowed down the options. ICE spa is serene, the staff is welcoming, and the products smell and feel like heaven! 4 s

If you read this review no further, just know that you will be hard pressed to find a better place to spend your spa budget than here. I treated myself and my girlfriend to some pampering at the hands of the excellent staff at the I.C.E. spa, and I could not be happier about where I spent my money. The entire experience, from the first email to the last thank you and goodbye was a complete pleasure, and ended up being exactly what we wanted. I booked our saturday afternoon about 1.5 months in advance for a couple’s massage, facial and some waxing for her, and even though these plans changed MANY times in that 1.5 months, the staff, particularly Kelly, made sure that the changes were happily made. The service is exemplary even BEFORE you set foot in the spa; Kelly is very good with the emails, responding often times in minutes, a few hours at most. I learned in our stay there that they take very seriously their notion that you should get EXACTLY what you want — and they gave me no reason to believe otherwise. The spa itself is set on a quiet street just east of downtown san diego, and has been mentioned here many times, is actuallly a renovated/converted residential structure. While this may not seem optimal for a spa, it gives the spa much of its innate charm and wonderful ambiance. The entire place smells wonderful, as expected, but at every turn there were friendly faces. Whether it be the therapists/technicians or the owners themselves who are very hands on, you are made to feel very welcome. The services themselves are wonderful. The massages my girlfriend and I received were simply wonderful, and the quality of the skin/waxing technicians has my girlfriend excited to come back for more. She cited expertise and attitude of the technician who attended her as the reasons she will be back for more. Overall, the experience is definitely one that I am looking forward to repeating again, and I have no remorse in my decision to splurge a bit with I.C.E. Spa.

My experience couldn’t have been any better at the I.C.E spa this past weekend. I had called ahead to let them know that a group of us would be coming in for massages and pedicures before my friends wedding. When we arrived, we were greeted by tea light candles, champagne and finger foods to munch on. The décor was modern and chic, but with a warm feeling. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The massage was excellent. I would highly recommend the spa to anyone who needs some time out to relax.

Situated in a quiet residential ‘hood, easy to find just off Hwy 15, my galpal and I had the perfect afternoon of relaxation at Ice Spa. I loved my masseuse, who was very communicative with me on how she should spend the 50min of my deep tissue massage, and was very attentive to little things throughout my session, down to giving me a whiff of spearmint oil when she noticed my stuffy nose schlooshing noises. I wish more spas would keep towel warmers in their treatment rooms, and lay them under your necks, during the face-up portion of a massage. Their living room, the«relaxation lounge» is also a fantastic touch — so relaxing that I came down to find my galpal wrapped in a blankee and napping on their über cushy sofa. The treatments are not the cheapest you could find, but I’ll say entirely worth the extra bit.

Update 6÷21÷08: Sadly this location has closed but has opened its doors as La-Di-La Spa in Coronodo, CA. Different atmosphere, but I’m sure it’s still great service!!! ************************* The two owners got us an appt right away even though it was late notice. Mylette(one of the owners) even gave us her cell phone # if we had any questions. When we got the spa we were surprised to find it was not a building but a two-story traditional style home turned day spa. So cozy, so chic, everything from the white sofas against the wispy sheer curtains blowing in the wind, the candles, the picture of Audrey Hepburn above the fireplace — you feel right at home. As Chelsea M. said, it really does feel like a bed and breakfast! And so unpretentious and warm unlike the day spas in LA! When you first go in you’re greeted by one of the staff members, most likely one of the owners. You go upstairs to a bathroom to change into your robe and slippers and put your belongings in a bin. Then you go back downstairs to fill out a questionnaire on your skin and spa style. While you wait you’re offered wine, juice, or tea. For a facial you’ll probably stay downstairs and for everything else like massages you’ll do upstairs. My friend had Kelly(one of the two owners) do a customized facial on her and she loved it. Apparently the products they sell there are great too. My friend has really sensitive skin and the products didn’t irritate her skin at all. Ask for Julie for a deep tissue massage. She is so thorough and detailed; she claims it’s b/c she’s an Aquarius. Me too! No wonder we clicked right away: D Also, when you get a treatment you get free coupons. For whoever you refer and they get their treatment done, one treatment is free for you next time!

Ooooo la la! This day spa has so much cozy charm you’ll want to check in and stay for the weekend. The two owners took over a beautiful two-story house in Kensington and turned it into a day spa that feels more like a bed-and-breakfast. They specialize in high-tech spa and beauty methods including sugar brazilians… they’ll even give you a heart-shaped invitation for your lover down there, just in time for Valentine’s Day… ;-) ooooo la la!
