I bought a very nice oak armoire with flower carvings on the door last weekend. The salesperson, Dan Pond, who sold it to me for a very nice price, also surprised me by making an extra closet rod for me. It fit perfectly and allowed me to transfer my clothes into it right away. Definitely recommend this great antique store for its wonderful customer service, reasonable prices and great inventory.

The place is mighty impressive, that’s for sure. As a vacationer, it’s not exactly a prime antiquing spot, but it’s still fun to pop your head in. The bulk of what they sell is furniture. Large pieces of furniture. Old, beautiful, and big pieces of furniture. Since I didn’t think we could fit an antique writing desk in the trunk of the sedan, I could only walk around without much intent to buy. They do have some smaller items up near the front, but it’s not their bread and butter. If you have something in mind, ask them. They get new shipments frequently and they can keep their eyes and ears open for what you’re looking for and get it to you. It’s gorgeous stuff. Beats assembling foreign furniture. Beats it by a million miles.

I purchased an antique table and chairs here many years ago which i love. After years of daily service i returned it to India St. Antiques to have the table top refinished. They did an amazing job! They were able to perfectly match the color of the new top to the antique base and chairs. I couldn’t be happier with the results!

New to the San Diego area, my husband and I were looking for antiques or at least furniture made with REAL wood and not veneers to decorate our home. We went all over San Diego looking for options and we even looked online at Restoration Hardware and other online stores. We were about to give up in frustration when we found India Street Antiques. There are many real wood options. My mother, an antiques dealer on the East coast, said to look for furniture before the 1950’s if I want something that is real wood, high quality, will hold its value better and will last longer. Most of the furniture from Restoration Hardware and Pottery Barn looks nice, but reviewers report that it falls apart, the wood cracks, it’s uncomfortable and the customer service is horrible. I am so glad we finally found India Street Antiques. The service was excellent, there were many beautiful choices and compared to the prices online, in retail furniture shops and even 3 different consignment shops in San Diego(and let me tell you, I even looked at dining chairs from Lamps Plus that required you to screw the legs in!!!), India Street Antiques won us over in terms of price and quality. I even sent pictures of the furniture to my mother before buying to get a second opinion and she knew exactly the type and time period and confirmed they were great options. We got a set of dining chairs and 2 bedside tables. I could have purchased more if we needed it and will be sure to go back as I need more furniture. I don’t understand why some of the reviewers here are saying that India Street Antiques has high prices. The chairs were a better price than the above mentioned Lamps Plus chairs with screw in legs. They were better priced than the 3 consignment stores we went to. And the chairs we got at India Street Antiques were from the 1920’s. No worries about falling apart, uneven legs or showing glue, like we’ve heard from Restoration Hardware and Pottery Barn customers. This is NOT a thrift store, so don’t expect thrift store prices. However, compared to the other options around San Diego, the prices are fair and the owners are willing to give you a deal if you buy several items. For my money, it’s worth the price and I think you can find something in your budget if you look around. I highly recommend giving India Street Antiques a try.

The owners couldn’t have been more helpful. This is the best antique/used furniture store we’ve found in San Diego. Quality wood furniture every where you look — this place rocks! Bonus: the prices are fair, the owners are incredibly helpful and the selection is fantastic. We now stop in every chance we get to check out new inventory. An amazing store — one of my absolute favorites!

I found this store by overhearing another Antique Dealer saying she buys alot here. I seeked out to see for myself. I found a bustling store, with great prices. They move alot of stuff, no other store has the selection of this one. I now go in at least once a week and am amazed how fast they move antique furniture. I bough a dresser from France, and they repaired my moms chair here too. Friendly people with a mixture of American, English, French, Italian, Asian pieces. I wish my home was larger. R. Petterson Also, I just found out they have a container of VINTAGEDANISHMODERN from Denmark on its way. They say its their 40 th container from Denmark and I can not wait to see the new stuff, 2÷1÷2012 arrival date they say. I should say im excited as my parents are from Denmark.

The the store was a little pricey, but I didn’t find it too unreasonable for anyone looking to start a real collection of unique furniture. For me the appeal was the large amount of retro and scandinavian influenced pieces. I adored seeing so much of it stacked in one space… So many options! If you’re willing to invest some money for a piece of furniture that will work through and with other trends, and enhance any space… either as a functioning piece of furniture or sculptural one. Go here.

Pro: Lot’s of interesting antiques… Con: At the absolute high-end of retail on pricing… Possibly the most expensive of all the stores in the SD area.

India Street Antiques frames a part of India street with its two huge showrooms. The stack of furniture dates back to the turn and mid 2oth century. If you are looking for that colonial revival buffet or 50s console, this store has it. The flat note has to do with their piled display, which makes it difficult to really observe the different pieces. For those of you who enjoy catholic iconographic artifacts, you might want to drop in to look at their wall display!
