My man and I got shields applied to our iPhones awhile back. His was peeling at the corner and he was able to get it replaced for free. Awesome! Now(October 2011) with my new 4S, I bought a purple OtterBox. I used to have a Skech case with a shield. When I asked the sales guy about which case to buy, he said to get an OtterBox if I drop my phone all the time. Ummmm yeah… I’ve had one phone fall in the toilet and cracked the screen of another. I drop the s**t out of my phone. Completely happy with my OtterBox case. It’s a bit bulky and was expensive, but I don’t need a shield for it. I would come back to this place when I need a new case or shield!

I needed a case and cover asap for my new iPhone 4s. I went to Fashion Valley to visit the Mac store and came upon the iPlay N Talk kiosk. Normally, I stay away from these kiosks; I do not trust them. But I hadn’t seen anything i was 100% sold on in the store. I bought a purple hard plastic Skech cover… yes there was the whole build up of why this is the best cover ever and how Mac sends them their customers… all blah, blah, blah. But I have to say I did like the cover because it had a felt liner to protect the inside and I liked the color and hard rubber. The guy said he would install it for $ 5.no thanks, as I thought the cover was already overpriced. When i got home and installed it I noticed the cover had a major nick on it. I took it back the next day the guy looked at it, opened a new one and inspected it and asked if i wanted it applied. I said sure, he installed it for me(with alcohol???) no problem so it was a very easy hassle free exchange. Pro’s — I like the product and the customer service was what I would expect for a defective productive…5 stars. Con’s — When the guy installed it he used alcohol which did not sit well with me. My experience is that any encased liquid, let alone on electronics, is not good. He assured me there would be no problems… we’ll see about that. This is a brand new iPhone 4s so he better be right. Lastly, the cover is overpriced. The exact same item is at Amazon for 29.99(I paid 39.99). I guess I saved on the shipping but still think 24.99−29.99 is a more reasonable price.

Huge rip-off. Tried selling a case to me for $ 80 when I RedLasered it and found it for $ 29.99 online — buyer beware!!!

they get 1 star because I can’t give them no stars. They are a RIP-OFF. I bought an iPad iShieldz screen protector from them which then installed. They sold me this brand because they said I’d be covered if there was a defect in the screen or the iPad. They said to go online and register and iShieldz would provide a lifetime replacement screen protector if I had to exchange my iPad. Guess what… i had to exchange my iPad, called iShieldz and was told the warranty does cover a replacement if my iPad was defective, but they are happy to offer me 15% off on a replacement. The salesperson at iPlay N Talk is a liar… and not surprisingly their kiosk at Fasion Valley mall isn’t there anymore. iShieldz also told me I was overcharged for the screen cover. Shame on me for not checking this out further!

Yeah I got ripped off for an iPhone case by Skech($ 29.99) I was at North County Mall and saw this kiosk outside of Apple and needed a case ASAP for my brand new phone. I figured I was paying less for it than if I were to go inside the Apple store. Although, I really like the Skech(vibrant but subtle) case I bought from them, it does a good job protecting the phone. If you aren’t in a rush, just go on Amazon.

Obviously the first review was written by an employee. This place is a total RIPOFF! I found the items I needed for about 80% cheaper on amazon. The same brand and model.

I Play N Talk is actually a chain of shopping mall kiosk carts, usually found near Apple Stores in major malls. They have about 25 total kiosks, in San Diego, Orange County, Los Angeles, the Bay Area, and a handful in Texas. They specialize in Apple products accessories, with their most popular items being covers for Apple’s popular iPods and iPhones. Two new iPhone users, Wanugee and his Favorite Relative, were on the way to the Apple Store in the Fashion Valley Shopping Center in the Linda Vista area of San Diego, and happened upon the I Play N Talk Kiosks a few doors before Apple. I had been to the Apple store and Fry’s in the past week looking for covers, but didn’t see anything that suited my needs for the new iPhone 3GS. I wanted something professional looking that really protected the glass more than the little film layer you can get. Young Princess wanted something nicer than the standard lame rubber covers in standard colors you can find most everywhere. I got a nice black leather two sided cover, with a molded plastic bed to seat the back of the iPhone, and an elegant magnetic clasp for closure. There are two slits for business cards or charge cards. No belt hook. Love it! Princess got an elegantly beautiful rubber back cover, but in a nice Violet Floral pattern and color. Both are made by Skech«COVERSALL iNEED»( ). Neither came with the plastic protective film, but the Kiosk salesperson gave us one each gratis. I Play N Talk also offers a «Crystal Shield» glass protective layer they apply with a lifetime warranty, instead of changing the plastic throw aways all the time for $ 10. You can get an iPhone 3G for $ 99. It can surf the web, make phone calls, play Youtube, link to Facebook, Mobile Unilocal, have your weather, contacts, games and 10,000 other apps, like locate the nearest Starbucks for free. The rubber cover to protect it? $ 29.99! The leather one to protect it? $ 39.99! Sheesh, with about $ 25 more bucks and the cost of those 2 covers, I could have got another iPhone! Only thing is, it would cost me $ 60 more a month every month to use it! At least the covers are paid for!
