If you really need to get the knots out of your muscles, try Jay. He is great. The 90-minute massage is full of stretching, recommendations for exercises, etc. It’s well worth the money. Best of all, unlike the«spa massages» where you feel bad the next day, Jay helps you figure out what you need to do to keep yourself feeling good over time.

I didn’t realize how tense my body was until Jay started working on me. I had the 1.5 hour treatment, and it was spectacular. I actually stood taller than I have in a long time — my muscles had been so tight that I was actually compacted in stature. Jay’s deep tissue work is phenomenal, and he gave me a thorough stretch as well. It’s well worth it to spend the extra money for the 1.5 hour session.

Jay was awesome! I had heard from a close friend how talented he was. The other thing that my friend told me about Jay is that his massages are more healing primarily and relaxing secondly. This intrigued me especially since I have had many«soft,» «California spa» massages that never actually dug into my muscles. While these felt good, I actually needed corrective therapy for my body. It took me several months to actually meet Jay out socially before I decided that I wanted to get on his table. To say that his massage was good would be an understatement. He worked in spots of my shoulder, back, and IT-band that just about took my breath away. He also seemed to use many different techniques such as rolfing and Thai massage for each body part to get the exact result that he wanted. For each part he also gave advice on actually maintaining the results that he had attained. Now I have actually had a couple massages from him. Each time I feel like I have gotten my money’s worth. He is warm, nurturing, and intuitive. I couldn’t recommend him highly enough.

My chiropractor recommended Jay and he is great. I was looking for someone with a lot of experience who could offer deeper tissue work, and had not had any luck finding someone at the various popular massage establishments throughout San Diego. Jay gives a great massage, incorporates a lot of different techniques into his work including stretching, thai, reiki and rolfing — all combined to make you feel 110%. He works out of his home and I felt completely comfortable. Rates are reasonable for his level of skill and experience.

Jay is a very skilled massage therapist, specializing in deep tissue work which is one of the most effective forms of massage if you’re addressing a specific issue. He understands the anatomy and is well experienced, no wimpy rub here — he will dig in and get right to the problem. I’ve had several massages in San Francisco, all if which felt fine but none addressed my issue — this is the first time I actually felt better after a massage! He works out of his house which is in a cute neighborhood in North Park, nice comfortable massage table. Can’t wait to go back.

If you’re looking for a massage therapist who really knows what he’s doing, this is your man! He went to Thailand to study Thai massage; he’s a Reiki Master; He can do everything from basic Swedish/relaxing massage to intense bodywork, to subtle energy work. His website talks about work in other cities, but he’s based out of his house in Northpark.
