This salon is tucked away in a beautiful, light-​filled greenery. It’s very welcoming and cozy and there aren’t may clients there at once, they seem to spread it out so its a very intimate relaxing way to spend an afternoon being pampered.
John Perry is my hair specialist and he’s so great and takes the art of coloring to a whole other level. He cares, he’s inspired, and he listens… I trust him and his vision and I always leave there feeling great!

I have now been going to John Perry for over a year– and its been an amazing partnership to have great hair. John really listens to what I want out of my hair every time I see him. He also has a ton of experience and great insight into what will work for my hair and what will not. He is also updated on the latest products and techniques that can help improve my hair.
He truly cares about his patrons and what is best for them. I have finally found my «person.»
From the moment I walk in John treats me like a celebrity. Coffee waiting, relaxed music, updates on our lives, a hug. Head and neck massage with the wash. Hair styled and ready to go after we are done and then a plan for the next visit.
I love the location too :) Already looking forward to my next appointment.

This post is long overdue! I found John after a girl friend of mine referred me when I moved to San Diego a few years ago, and I followed him from his previous salon to Luco. I absolutely love the ambience of the salon, the setting is peaceful with floor to ceiling windows looking out onto trees, you almost forget you’re in urban San Diego. John is knowledgeable in his craft, creative, and a perfectionist. I have never been one to be very experimental with my hair and have had the same long, curly hair since I was a teenager. He knew how to cut my hair to keep its’ length and curls, and enhance my hairs’ natural characteristics. Finally, I had it with my long hair but was not feeling confident to cut it all off — I am so glad I sought his input! Not only did he encourage me to do it, he made it happen and I have received so many positive compliments on the change. John is a master stylist with long hair, short hair, color, you name it. I have referred everyone I know to him because I am so happy to have found him! Thank you John for all you do, and the time and care that goes into each visit!

John has been doing my hair for almost six years now and he is absolutely AMAZING! He’s a great listener and always has ideas to bring a hair vision to life. The way he sees color is like none other; it’s artistic! My hair has been multiple shades of red, blonde, and brunette with him and I always get TONS of compliments. He’s hands down the best stylist I’ve ever been to and many of my friends agree. I’ve referred several friends and my husband to John and everybody loves him! He’s always upbeat and happy and is so dedicated to making everyone feel more beautiful. Love, love, LOVE John!!! :)

Long overdue review… John is amazing and he has just transformed my hair. His talent is overwhelming… I can’t thank him enough for guiding me through change and of course… a hint of color! Glad I got that first appointment!

Pretty good prices. Has a good eye for color and trendy styles. He tends to value his personal opinion about what you should do with your hair above yours, so makes for awkward experience.

Went to John Perry to get my color done and was beyond satisfied with my fabulous new hairdo! He has an amazing eye for color and the ability to add dimension. When I left the salon, my hair looked vibrant and natural. I highly recommend John Perry for gorgeous color and styling!
