If you are over 21yrs old… this is NOT a good bar for you. They play different music on each side of the bar so you always hear to songs playing, sooo dumb. Place smells like someone threw up old beer everywhere… Got college kids playing beer pong and spillin drinks on my fresh J’s. This place is not on the road to success… only good part… GOGODANCERS!!!

I go here mainly on thursdays for«asian night» and it gets pretty packed. Drinks here are extremely cheap on thursdays, ranging from around $ 3 per mixed drink from their list. I’ve come here on a friday night and its not nearly as crowded because I guess this place is only really busy on thursdays. The place is also pretty big and has pool tables and also a dance floor. Usually no cover fee but during the beginning of the school year there was a huge line to get in and they requested a $ 20 fee since there was so many people. Overall pretty average bar and a great place if you’re trying to get your groove on also

Horrible bar, took my friend’s ID who was the DRIVER, and did not provide any explanation as to why they took it. Richardo is a horrible bouncer, as he did not provide any justification other than it did not look like him. Horrible service, the bar SUCKED.

Super duper mediocre. Was there for a football game and the waitress seemed super slammed, like they were understaffed and she was a bit hard to pin down, although I don’t normally expect stellar service at sports bars. My boyfriend’s food came out at least 20 minutes mine, though. So that kind of sucked :/ Food was good. Irish nachos appetizers were particularly good. :) I’d go back on game day, but it’s not anything particularly special.

Super cool place to get a bite to eat and an appetizer at. They run all the games, so pull up a chair, order a drink, and have a good night. Joey made sure our table was always taken care of. Their GM stopped by to say hi and to check on the service level. Everything was great. Thanks guys!

No one goes here. Just people that don’t know the area, fresh 21 year olds, and a lost cowboy fan. I don’t care what the specials are. Im not going. Place needs a remodel and I don’t know what the hold up is on that. I heard they are going under. Never had a problem with the staff.

I wasn’t going to write a review for this place, because one star is much too high, but I promised my friend I would. I came here a few years ago to celebrate New Year’s and was assaulted here by the bathroom. The security escorted me out when I had not done anything, and in the state I was, should have called the police. I didn’t even have a purse or a cell phone on me and had blood pouring down my face and clothes, and was waiting outside crying during the countdown with people outside in line gawking. They blamed their inability to do anything about it due to the fact that they were short staffed, and that I was treated that way because they had seen the incident and could not be sure I wasn’t at fault… when I was the only person bleeding? Right. When I had called to see if there was anything they might be able to provide me with to file my police report, the manager said he would check and get back to me. He failed to follow up, so a few days later, I called back, only to be told that their surveillance cameras had not been working that day nor up to at least a week before then. As a result, I had black eyes, a deviated septum, multiple bruises and cuts, all photographed and documented in a police report, only to be told by the police that it was no good if it was not filed right at the moment, because they would not be able to identify the people who did it. My face for the most part has healed minus the deviated septum, but I still freak out and never go to a bathroom alone or without my cell phone. Thanks, Johnny V!

this review is only for nfl sundays… they only play raven’s and cowboys… no other games… do not go here for nfl football!!! nnnnnnneeeeeeeeevvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrr Edit: The mgrs response is completely incorrect. I did talk with every person in Johnny V’s. The ones I talked to were also amazed and very apologetic. I’ll prob never go to this place again but if a fellow Unilocaler informs that things have changed… I’ll update my review to state that but for now… hit up Bare Back for hassle free NFL action.

Refuse to let someone in that was 21 because of their of policy of being 21 with regarding their business hours but had«special» hours this morning 10⁄31 because of college football. I asked for a business card and the manager on duty who told me his name was«Ryan» didn’t have a business card, I asked for his manager’s card and he took almost half an hour of me waiting outside of the club for him to give to me. After, I asked for his last name to complete my complaint and he refused to give it to me his last name then threaten me with the cops. Afterwards refused to give me the bar manager’s business card that I had originally asked for and still threaten me with the cops. The worst service I have ever received and the most disrespect that I have gotten down here in San Diego. Please do not go here and witness the discrimination and harass I have given tonight.

Came here with group of friends to celebrate a friends birthday weekend on Memorial Day weekend. The manager was extremely nice and instead of making us wait outside 10 minutes before the opened, allowed us to come in and sit at the bar while we waited. I thought this was extremely considerate and put all of us in an even better mood then we were already in. It is a very large bar with tons of seating, and what looked to me like a dance floor in the back with a second bar. We didn’t stay long enough to see if they opened the back area, but if sure looked like a nice place to dance and hangout. They have beer pong tables in the front and we played a few games. It was a really cool experience to play beer pong in a bar, and was something fun to do while we all hung-out. The food menu really didn’t seem all great and was somewhat expensive. So my group went down the street to get food and then when back to Johnny Vs when we were finished eating. A really nice venue and great place to hangout and drink, but the surrounding food places present better food options then Johnny Vs did.

I am giving this place 4 stars because the bartenders are always very nice and helpful. Honestly I only come here once in a while and it’s just a typical bar/dance place to go to have fun with your friends! The drinks from 9−11pm I believe for the green tea Tokyo and adiós it’s only $ 2. You really can’t beat that! Even after 11pm they are both $ 4 each which isn’t that bad! The bartenders are always nice and they really do try to get to everyone so be patient my thirsty friends! The only think I don’t like is the guys… Always trying to find a girl to rape… So sad. I feel like I can’t enjoy going here without a guy being rude and hitting on me and trying to hook up. Can we just all be kumbaya and enjoy life without trying to ALWAYSHOOKUP? Goodness.

So lets just say, i have moved on from the partying days in PB. That was so college years. That was so 2012. Yeah, mid 20’s got me like, «im old.» Anyway, discovered Johnny V’s special and thought it was awesome. Not too sure if they still have it going on but on Thursdays and Fridays they have drink specials $ 2 you call it with an appetizer. How cool is that? Great way to differentiate and help out the college kids that are in need of budgeting and having fun! Drinking and eating all in a $ 2 deal! Not really my scene, but I love the deal that they have. Reminiscing… when I was in my college stage, deals like this, I cannot surpass!

I love coming to PB with friends & this is a place that we enjoy going to, especially on Thursdays because the drinks are so cheap AKA Thirsty Thursday AKA Asian Night. Back in the day, we used to go to PB Bar & Grill but since they have lost their A game, this is where everyone goes to. Unfortunately for guests, but fortunate for the company, the line gets ridiculously long if you come after 1030p. Save yourself the hassle of waiting in line & the $ 5 fee by going before 1030p. The music is great & they have two dance floors primarily playing Hip Hop & Rap. Also, they have several tables for beer pong & two bars where you can order drinks from.

Johnny V has two faces that I come to visit. During the early evening on certain days, I love their chicken wing specials. They are fresh, crispy, and a little spicy. Good vibe, especially when they have Trivia Nights. Yes, Trivia Nights! On the other hand, this is a fun place for dancing. There are different rooms with varying levels of chillness. There’s the main dancefloor towards the back with the deejay, full bar, and some comfy seating on the side. There’s a room with pool, for those who prefer more of a divey than clubbing feel. And there’s the open space with another bar that usually has high tables and barstools during the day and just room for hanging out at nights. Usually I will only go for their«Tea Party Thursdays» since my friend promotes them. There are $ 2 AMFs, Long Island Iced Teas, and Tokyo Teas, as well as some pretty good shot specials. It’s not as popular as some other places in PB but definitely worth checking out! It has quite the typical PB feel… however you interpret that.

This place has probably the WORST management ever by guys who thinks they’re «young and cool» as I see them trying to hit on young guests everywhere(ALSO there’s some girls who are definitely underage.) First off, they hold the entire line for their«VIP» guests. Which takes like a whole hour so some guests have to stand in line for at least 1 – 2 hours to get inside. Second, they are so rude to you! Especially the managers. If you get stamped and need to go outside, be prepared to have to get in line again(probably another hour wait.) Third, there is no such thing as Tea Party Thursdays. They completely raised the price of all of their drinks and TRIPLE it after 10PM. Like seriously? How are you suppose to keep a business if you’re so inconsistent and try to make money out of every customer who walks in. And this is soooo not Vegas. Not even a one star compared to Vegas so please don’t be offering«bottled service» and have this smug look on your face when you let your bottled service crew with like 50 people cut everyone else in line. Everyone raves that they have«good» music here… its just a CD replaying the same songs OVERANDOVER again. I was there for one hour and heard the same song 5 times. THISPLACESUCKS. Everyone please come back to PB Bar & Grille. :(

I used to go here when it first opened up and it was 18+ and of course i was 18 at the time. It sucked really bad back then because it was always slow and barely anyone went there. Music used to suck a lot too. Then I finally went here again last night and yes its 21+ now and its honestly, very poppin’ ! Cover is $ 5 and it is CASHONLY. They have their«Tea Party Thursdays» where they have special drink prices. $ 2 Adiós, Long Island and Tokyo Tea $ 2 Spiced Jäger Popsicles $ 6 Espolon Tequila & Jameson Shots Free Billiards and Beer Pong all night. Yes it gets pretty crowded, but I personally think that there is a lot more space to walk around in here compared to PB Bar & Grill. I like that their main bar is separate from the dance floor because it gets more crowded in the dance floor than the bar, which is highly expected. So basically, when you first walk in, the first room is a small dance floor with a dj set up and a hallway with pool tables. The entrance for the smoking area is in the first room. Then in the middle is the main bar with beer pong tables on the side. Then you have the main dance floor room in the back with another DJ and another smaller bar. I hate when people say«overcrowded» is a bad thing, it obviously means that this bar/club is popular and people come here to have fun. You wouldn’t have come here unless you wanted to just«chill». But i do understand the«ratchedness», I must say, that the majority of the people here like to grind on each other since they do play all hip hop. Yes, there is more guys than girls here. It’s never really an even ratio. I blame that on all the thirsty guys who come here every week and don’t bring girls with them. Overall, you really can’t expect much from a bar. If you come to PB and expect high standards, then you need to party in La Jolla or somewhere else because this is a decent place for cheap night out and to just have fun with your friends.

Line was heavy on a Thursday night. Don’t ask me why my grandma ass was out in PB on a Thursday night with the college kids… ok fine, it was for my best friend’s bday ok. Don’t judge me! lol jk, not kidding. Shame. Anyway, the line was crazy packed and ridiculous!!! but we were pulled to the front upon arrival. Woot grandma still got it. Haha. 4 sections. Well 5 if you include the outdoor smoking section. 1. A club-like hip-hop area that’s pretty dark the whole night. Sweaty and hot and just… ratchet. Yea I said it. 2. Bar with beer pong tables to the side. 3. Quiet area with tables where people just sat around… to talk? Idk. 4. Front club-like area with more ventilation and more chill. Played a mixture of hip-hop, trap, edm, etc. 5. Smoking area. It gets packed so you have to stand in line to get out. It’s so damn hot inside so going out for air was necessary. Standing in line was annoying. I felt all claustrophobic at one point. I stayed around the bar, front, and outside most of the night. I liked the music in the hip hop dark room but it was just too hot; I could only last 1 minute tops then it was back to the bar. I could see my 21 year old past-self loving Johnny V a lot. Fuck I’m so old.

Definitely not as disgusting at the pictures on Unilocal, but it does have it’s air of ‘dirtiness’. Lines for drinks were long, my poor friend had to wait for like 30 minutes… thank goodness for him though! lol The tacos tasted fine and they had some live music — but don’t sit too close, it’s wayyy too loud. The crowd isn’t classy, it’s pretty typical PB — aka why I avoid PB, but they are trying, it seems! This place has potential. It has several rooms, a huge bar and fun games like pool and beer pong. But like dating, one should never keep coming back for something that only has ‘potential’. To be fair, I came during an event that was put on by Pacific Magazine. Word to the managers, consider who you want to be. It’s confusing… do you cater to VIPs or not? You have a VIP event so people expect VIP treatment. The establishment looks nice, but it’s kinda dirty… you could be all sorts of things, but decide which you will be and stick to it for success, don’t try to be all things.
