Very nice lady, extremely skilled Tailor. Price is a little high but you get what you pay for.

I had 3 suits, 2 blazers and a few slacks that needed to get tailored. She was awesome and incredibly accomodating. If you’re looking for a personalized experience, she is 5 stars. Kim’s English is pretty broken but her professional expertise speaks for itself.

Kim needs more than 5 stars. She is so polite and thorough in her work. She went above and beyond to fix a defective jacket I purchased on eBay. Now the jacket is better than it was when it left the manufacturer. Her prices are extremely reasonable she was very quick in the repair less than 24 hours and it was repaired. I will be sending everyone I know to her and returning with all things that need tailoring and or repair. Thank you so much Mrs. Kim!

This lady is the truth! She is amazing! I brought a hideous fitting blazer in and within 5 minutes, she pinned the outlined alterations into a sexy, form fitting ensemble. I absolutely love her work!

Oh my gosh. Yes. I was referred to this shop from a happy patron and called before I went. Looked up the address on Unilocal and came across all of these amazing reviews. They are all true. Mrs. Dung is wonderful and as she will tell you — she truly LOVES her job. Great work on a formal dress with a delicate chiffon outer layer that needed to be taken in nearly everywhere and up in length. Done in record time and was PERFECT. Excellent price. Thank you again!

Kim is so sweet and very welcoming! I came here on Wednesday and needed my jumpsuit done by Thursday the next day! She was kind enough to have it done for me, but she said next time bring it in couple days early because she’s a busy women! Sorry it was my first time for alterations now I know what to expect! Update.
I have now come to see Kim three times and she has successfully fixed many of my clothes to my satisfaction. She’s really quite simply the sweetest lady and a very good tailor. Today I was supposed to pick up my clothes but she called me from her home to let me know that she was taking care of a sick family member and can’t make it in today. If she’s doing that with me, you can assume that she’s calling all her clients. I’m grateful for the personal call and dedication that she shows her customers. I’m very impressed. For being a one woman show (and lets not forget she’s getting by on immigrant English and is a grandma) her level of work and commitment is really old fashion and 100% outstanding. Yep, I heart her.

Want to delete this rant!!! Why cant I? Isn’t there an option for Unilocalers regret??? Super irritating when you want something done and tailor repeatedly tells you you have bad taste! I understand if what i want wont work but please don’t tell me my fashion choices are not nice… Bad first impression. Apparently everyone likes this place. Thats why i came… Sad to say i felt so insulted by my style choices i didn’t have a chance to see the quality of her work.

Amazing.
Kim is incredibly warm and welcoming. She does an amazing job in only a few days — which is amazing because her shop is PACKED with clothes. I don’t know how she does it all herself. She told me she loves her job and I believe it because she beams with happiness when you walk in. Definitely recommend her services.

I have never wanted to write a review so quick before! I would give this place more than 5 stars if I could.
I was referred to Kim by my fiancé who goes to her for all tailor needs and I definitely see why. She is the sweetest most professional seamstress I have ever met. She also gives the sweetest hugs (: You can tell she loves what she does and not in it for the money. I came in to get my wedding dress altered. And will be ready within a week or two. Although, there is a language barrier… she knew exactly what I wanted and that needed to be done just by looking at me. Thank you again Kim!

Came to Mrs. Dung for repairing the seams on my work pants and also alter the length of a bridesmaid dress.
She is wonderful, helpful and so quick with her work! She is passionate about what she does, and I can say that she is also exceptional in her efficiency and good at what she does. The pants seams were like new! The dress was altered perfectly too.
Mrs. Dung is honest with her fees and doesn’t overcharge. I will return in the future!

Absolutely amazing. Kim was so sweet and had great energy and really cares about people. She has been sewing for a really really long time. I got a suit from Macy’s and took it here. Her prices are very very reasonable. Make sure to knock or wait for her to let you into the shop because it looks like the door is often locked.

I’ll admit I’ve never been to a tailor before I went to Kim. Being just under 5’5″ most of the pants I have tried on will drag on the floor unless I wear heels. It’s not fair that most clothes are made for people who are at least 5’7″… :-/
I never considered going to a tailor so a lot of my pants have some damage around the edges (oops). Recently, though, I bought two pairs of work pants that I knew I couldn’t get away with not hemming. I’ve done that with another pair of work pants before and I destroyed them to the point that I can’t wear them to work anymore. I looked around through Unilocal and figured to try out Kim because she had great reviews on Unilocal.Plus she had the most flexible hours and her shop is close to my work.
I’ll be honest, I was a little wary about coming here as a) I’ve never been to a tailor/​seamstress before, b) her hours seemed too good to be true (I’ve read about other businesses on Unilocal where the the tailor/​seamstress had «unreliable» hours), and c) her spot isn’t exactly in the best neighborhood. I called her up to make sure she would be there after 5 (which is when I get off work). She was really nice and friendly on the phone, albeit her English is a little hard to understand (not a problem for me); she assured me that she will be there after 5 and was looking forward to meeting me. Yay!
I stopped by there after work and as someone else mentioned, her door is locked (understandable since this *is* City Heights/​Rolando). She quickly opened the door and ushered me in. I tried on the pants and she hemmed them to the length I wanted. She gave me a little spiel about how long she has been in the business and asked if anyone referred me to her. She quoted me a price for both pants and told me to pick them up the following week. I didn’t quite understand but I think she said that she has been backlogged so it was going to take some time before she could get to my pants. No biggie.
Came today to pick up the pants and they are perfect!!! They look much better than they did before I had them fixed. Couldn’t believe how good they looked and I was out the door in less than 5 minutes.
If I need to get any more pants fixed or clothes sewn up, I am definitely going back to Kim. Her prices were extremely fair and she is so nice! :D

Needed a super quick alteration on my scrub pants so I called her around 11am on a Wednesday and asked how fast she could get it done for me. She said she’d have it ready for pickup by Thursday afternoon. I was sold.
I swung by around 2pm.
She locks her front door because «you can’t trust people these days.» I knocked and waved toward her and she quickly came to let me in. She took a wild guess and asked if I was the «nice boy who called earlier» haha. She quickly had be try on the pants and had them fitted and pinned for hemming.
While she was fitting me, she briefly told me about how long she’s been a tailor and how long she’s been in San Diego. She expanded her store three times! It’s cool because you can see the marks on the flooring where the expansions were made. 18 years in the making, she said. wow.
She asked me where I’m from, and where I’m «really» from (aka my ethnicity, haha). She kept complimenting the fact that I’m Japanese and going into the medicine field. «Japanese people are so so so strong you know? Like me, I had to fight and keep going because I had nothing.» I’ll save her story for your own experience with her, but let’s just say she’s such an amazing inspiration.
To shorten and bring in the pant legs, it was only $ 19 total. As I was leaving, she kept patting my back, telling me how handsome I was :) «bye bye, handsome boy Adam.» haha.
I came back the next day around 1pm, and sure enough, it was done. she told me «yes, handsome boy Adam. I stayed up til 3am to finish for you!» I brought her some hawaii cookies as a thank you. I paid with a 20 and I told her to keep the extra dollar. she would NOT take it! no matter how much I insisted.
as she walked me toward the door, she told me not to come back until I bring her an «Eve» … as in Adam and Eve, apparently? hahah.
my scrub pants fit perfectly, and she had it done in less than 24hours! you go girl.

I’ve been here quite a few times to get dresses altered for formal events for my sorority and everything else. And Kim is just the sweetest! She always remembers you once you’ve been there and does everything perfectly! Everything gets done on time or even earlier! And the prices aren’t bad either. Definitely affordable for my broke college life.
I recommend this place all the way! She’ll do as much as she can for what you want done. She’ll also let you know what she can’t do, just so you’re not let down at the end when you pick up your order. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed!

Being a 4’10″ Asian girl, it is very difficult to find clothes that fit me and back in Dallas, I’ve always had my mom tailor my clothes. After moving to California, I’ve been searching for a great tailor and I’ve finally found one!
My husband needed his suit and dress shirt tailored so I finally decided to tailor my jeans. I also had a dress that I adored but unfortunately ruined when my nail caught onto the lace and Mrs. Dung not only tailored all our clothes perfectly but she fixed my dress! I love love love her. Seriously, she is the sweetest and amazing at what she does. She was very welcoming and you can tell this isn’t just a job for her, it’s her passion. Not only does she go above and beyond to see what it is you want done with your garments but she actually gets to know you as a person and doesn’t just treat you as another customer. My husband and I had agreed to pick up all of our clothes in a week but something came up and I called to see if I can pick it up a day early and she said she already had it done, after only four days. Her service is really cheap, a little over $ 60 to tailor the suit, dress shirt, jeans and to fix my dress. She wouldn’t charge me extra for finishing early and she wouldn’t take my tip. I will be coming back.

She always has your garments ready when promised and her prices are beyond reasonable — so much so that you always want to tip her — which of course, she will not accept.
Any time we need something altered — we go to her. She was the first place we went to when we moved to San Diego and we never needed to look anywhere else.
