So I moved nearby recently and this is one of the nearest bars so I’ve stopped in a few times. 1 — they only serve beer so be aware of that. 2– they are known for their Philly«cheese» steak sandwich. So I ordered it and I have to say it’s ok. There’s no sauce to go with it which is a bummer.

Great atmosphere for this little locals place. Excellent beer selection. No hard liquor served here. The food is out of this world. There’s a reason this place got voted best cheesesteak in San Diego. Generous portions of fries. I’ve been wanting to try other things on their menu but I always end up with a cheesesteak.

Some people go to bars to be seen or in the scene. At Lat’s, you go to see. I’ve been going to Lat’s on and off for the better part of 10 years and it’s definitely had a turnaround. Last time I was in there Dale was working and he is always on point. He’s been there forever and always a pleasure to chat with. The décor is the same and that’s a-ok. It’s a bar, a place where you catch up with friends and drink beers. Maybe eat some food and watch a game. If it’s been a minute for you, they take credit cards now and have a solid craft beer selection too. Pool tables aren’t always out and the seating has changed a bit, but it’s ample enough for good conversations with good friends and just kicking back. Pool tables aren’t always out, so don’t go there specifically to shoot pool.

They make you show two forms of ID for out of state licenses which is weird, but your military ID gets you in just fine. Its a chill local bar away from the younger PB scene so check it out when you can. Any bar with food and good beer deserves a visit.

This bar is great. Located in an awesome part of north PB and they have a Philly cheese steak shop inside! It was pretty packed the night we went because it was Trivia Night. People seemed to be having a really great time. I loved my cheesesteak sandwich! The food is the main reason we stopped in but I will absolutely be back to hang at the bar.

Love this place. Great staff and vibe. My own personal«Cheers». Fun to watch sports, play trivia or kick back with buddies. You won’t find a cool place like this elsewhere in PB. And be sure to load up on good eats at Alex’s Brown Bag!

I previously wrote a bad review for Latitude 32 from a prior bad experience here involving an altercation that caused a lot of commotion for quite a few people. To be fair, I now want to update my prior review, based on today’s visit. *I enter* Bartender: «Hi.» Me: *points toward Alex’s Brown Bag* «I was just going over to Alex’s Brown Bag.» Bartender: «Sure, no problem.» Me: «Cool, thank you.» Bartender: *nods* I place my order, wait for it to be made… and leave with my cheese steak sandwich. End of story. See how simple it is? Latitude 32 may be a nice bar for the older locals to hang out at, and that’s just fine. The only problem I had before –was the chance that you might randomly get«carded» in a hostile way, just to buy a sandwich, which I thought was a little silly. But there was none of that silliness today. Alex’s Brown Bag doesn’t have their own entrance, and the only way to get to Alex’s Brown Bag is to go through the bar at Latitude 32. Today it wasn’t a problem at all. The blonde bartender was really nice and didn’t have an attitude ATALL today. So, I want to say that I appreciate that. It seems the previous problems certain people were having with the bartender have subsided and all is good in the world of Latitude 32. Thank you! I appreciate the respectful attitude because in the end, that is really what people want and deserve. Have a nice evening!

I started stopping by in here a few months ago based on the recommendation of a well respected local and have felt at home in here ever since. This a great place to relax, have a few laughs, try some great beers and mostly enjoy the great company of the staff and fellow proprietors. This definitely isn’t the type of pretentious, yuppified hipster shack or Frat house that seems to be the norm these days in PB. These folks are genuine. Be sure to treat yourself to a great cheesesteak sandwich while you’re there too!

Although I’m far away now there is still no bar as good as this place! I’m pretty low key and not a fan of the whole downtown scene or even Garnet for that matter so Latitude’s is right up my alley! When I do come back to San Diego a few times per year I’m still welcomed with open arms by the same loving crowd I use to drink beers with… How awesome is that?! Alex’s Brown Bag is such an awesome addition too… the food is great! Honestly, you can’t go wrong if you’re looking for some grub and a beer in a laid-back setting with really cool people and bartenders(especially my main homegirl Alissa!)!

We love to hang out at this local place! Everyone is friendly, unpretentious and sociable. The staff are all cool people, especially Alissa; she’s a lot of fun! The Philly sammies are awesome! We always bring our out of town guests by for a beer in our«local’s bar».

thank you again, Unilocalers, for helping me find such a great place while on vacation. Let me start with this– I have a huge pet peeve about bars that are weird about playing sports and taking requests from patrons and just have one game on all 15 tvs and aren’t nice about changing it. My boyfriend and I were in town last weekend and just looking for somewhere to grab a beer and watch the Mariners game. We went here based on Unilocal reviews, and couldn’t be happier. When we walked in it was super crowded but there were 2 seats at the bar. Before we could even sit down, the bartender saw I was wearing a Mariners tank top and immediately asked if I wanted him to change the tv directly in front of us so that we could watch the game. WHAT! he OFFERED to change the tv before I could even order a beer? It might sound little, but he won major points in my book. They also had a really good selection of local beers, reasonably priced. Didn’t order food, so I can’t comment on that. I would DEFINITELY be here all the time if I lived in San Diego, and will definitely return if I’m in the area.

Nice little hole in the wall. Food isn’t always available and the menu is confusing. They have great $ 3 pint mimosas. Pretty divey, but does the trick if you’re waiting for a table at one of the restaurants on the block.

I am 23 years old and I pass this bar pretty much everyday. I didn’t know they had food until recently and I was told to try it out. Unfortunately I lost my wallet a few weeks back and haven’t been able to receive a new one because I am from NY and they have a hard time sending another. I didnt think I needed my Id anyways because I don’t drink, and I was passing by today and I decided whatever, I’ll try some food out, but as soon as I walked in, I was told I’m not allowed without an Id. So I went up the street to the always delicious barkey. All well.

Food is back and it’s great. Good basic bar menu with the specialty leaning towards Philli sandwiches. There’s no doubt I feel guilty about the calories afterward, but it all sure tastes great. They’re helpful whether dine in or call in an order to go, the order takers have a great attitude. Non nonsense tasty bar food — done! And YUM!

Ok I’ll update yet again. Bar is still the same. Very laid back, the addition of Alex’s Brown Bag is great. The food is really good for traditional«bar food.» Dale, Alissa & Willy are the three mainstays in the bartender dept. Don’t look for the traditional douchebag garnet crowd here. Older, more mellow during the day. Some nights get packed. Thursday’s has trivia, and Wed. Nights seem paced as well. Not a hookup type bar. Just beer & wine, but a great selection of crafts. Prices are good. Idk how much a sculpin is, but it’s definitely cheaper then Cass st. Open til midnight. Be patient when waiting for a beer. Best way to get a beer from Willy is tell him you are tabbing out. Haha just kidding. Great bar!
