Great«everyone is accepted» style coffee house in Normal Heights. Large space with lots of mismatched chairs. It is one of the few places in San Diego where they encourage to order a coffee, pull up a seat, and stay for awhile. The desserts look filling. The coffees are good — albeit a bit weak. My Americano in a large mug only pulled one shot of espresso. This is definately the place in Normal Heights where people go when they want to get out of their house. Study. Play a game of cards. Or just indulge in the coffeehouse scene.

Awful venue. I hate to say but this place was awful. Went there for a concert last night and the venue was uncomfortably hot. If you don’t have air then please for the love of God install some fans. Then to top it off, there is nowhere to get or buy water. The door guy told me I had to get it from the coffee house but they had a huge line and only one small water bottle when I went in. I ended up going across the street to buy some water and they let me in with it which was cool but overall it was so miserable in there we couldn’t really enjoy the show.

This is the other side of Lestat’s. It’s where the concerts are. I’m here to see Julian Moon tonight. I’ve seen Kevin Martin, Scarlett Rabe, and Dawn Mitschele here. I’ve also seen a KPRI I session here. It was Jukebox the Ghost. The acoustics are usually pretty good, it can get distorted sometimes. Don’t forget to get coffee, dinner, or dessert next door. It’s nice that there’s seating here. It stinks that the website doesn’t seem to list the price of the concerts. It can be hot in here, because they have no air conditioning.

My band played here. There is no air conditioning and it struggles to stick to a schedule. The sound is great and the sound guy running it knows what he’s doing. Great bands play here(not just mine haha). No food or drink but a nice little music venue :)

Place is cozy, like you’re stuck in your seat with no way out because the chairs are crammed together. It a great spot to watch a concert. I prefer these type of intimate shows. You can see the singer and they can see you. I came here to see Justin Young and Lakin. The website showed the time 9pm. My friend and i arrived around 7:30pm and i grabbed a bite to eat next door until 8:30pm when we started to stand in line outside. The air was quite chilly, i was hoping to be inside the venue soon. We watched them soundcheck through the open front doors. The line grew long. Everyone seemed to have all arrived at 9pm. Oh and there was a cute chubby black dog that greeted us while we waited in line. She was adorable! We sat in the front at a table next to the speakers. The first third of the seats were at small tables and the rest of the seating were chairs in rows. It was a full house! We had a great view from our seats! Fyi, this area is mainly street parking.

Came here to see my buddy perform his comedy show, the place is kinda small and theres no AC. They don’t take credit cards here, cash only at the door. Nice atmosphere though and the coffee next door obiviously is great.

Lestat’s West is a music venue in San Diego offering live National and Local talent. It is part of The Lestat’s Coffee House family and located next door to Lestat’s Coffee House in Normal Heights. It’s a tiny music venue seating approximately 90 people, where the rows of seats and handful of tables are placed very intimately with no room to spare, literally. With no air conditioning and only a 20 inch floor level fan for the entire audience, on a night that was very hot and humid, I felt like a crammed sardine stuck in a hot house full of other smelly fish. There was no air movement and I am very surprised that no one passed out from a heat stroke. Before the performances even started, I could feel myself becoming drenched in perspiration and I was prepared to leave early. However, when the show began, I was in awe of the sound quality and the amazing talent on stage. I was so impressed, that even though I could feel myself melting, I opted to stay for the 2nd performance. Again, I was amazed by the talent and as hot and miserable as I was, I opted to stay for the final performance. Of course, I was amazed. The sound quality and the talent for the entire evening were all incredible. I’ve been in living in the San Diego area for about 15 years and I’ve only now attended a show at Lestat’s West? Unbelievable. I can’t believe I’ve been missing out on such incredible talent. Aside form the sweltering heat, I will definitely return, but only when the weather promises a much cooler and comfortable experience. Oh., and I’ll be bringing my own little fan and a cold wet towel to drape around the back of my neck! 5 Unilocal stars for providing excellent talent, but 1 star for the sweltering conditions.
