I’m a pizza aficionado and this place is just okay, not great, there sauce is okay but there cheese is okay, the crust itself is good. I believe that a pizza place just can’t sit on the same ingredients, you have to keep pushing yourself to improve the flavors. There are better sauces, if you can’t figure it out, I’m not gonna tell, there are way better mozzarella cheeses out there, spend the money, don’t be cheap. Next!

I must say that this was a great place to grab a bite to eat while hanging out at Mission Beach on a Sunday. My full meal was under $ 20, the waiting staff was very friendly, and it was a pretty fun atmosphere to experience. I ordered one slice of their giant pizza with pepperoni, and they call it GIANT for a reason. It was so big, I still had to cut it in half and save it for later. I also got their beer battered onion rings. If you come to this place and don’t try them out, I will have pity in you. They were the best! The only thing that didn’t sit well with me were the prices of their toppings if you decided to order a full pizza. Even the«standard toppings» were $ 2.50 each! That’s why I just went for the giant slice. It was plenty anyway!

Sadly disappointed. Flavor wasn’t bad but requested ctr a cheese and received a minimal about. When asked«how was it? «we asked if there was extra cheese on this pizza that had none over 2 inches from the edge. The response was a quick«yes» without ever asking, why — was it ok? Sorry but at 51.00 I expect better.

We got the carnivore pizza. It was really tasty. The service was great! My kids enjoyed the kids menu(cheese slice/fries and cheeseburger and fries). Large cold sodas. Perfect for a day after the beach. Would recommend!

I do think understand why the guys only have 3 stars, they’re awesome! The pizza sliced are huge and delicious! The staff was really nice and the atmosphere was nice. My cousin got spaghetti and said it tasted good, so check this out! They’re a bit pricey but it’s the location.

Not really sure why this place is only getting 3 stars? It surprised me a few years ago when I first started going there how good the food and sevice is. I would have thought being that close to the roller coaster, that it would be cheap crap thrown together at a high price, but NO! This place has great salads, okay pizza, and terrific chicken parmigiana. A great value too. The service is good too. The guys are laughing and having a good time even while swamped. We are regular customers and will be there tonight again!

We had an amazing experience at Luigi’s. We came here the day after my wedding for some lunch and the food was incredible. We had Ben as a server who was, and I’m being dead serious, the best server I’ve ever had in any restaurant regardless of price or location. He made us feel welcome and was all around a great person. This place is highly recommended if your on mission bay and want an excellent slice.

This is hands down the best place for pizza in mission beach. The slices are huge and delicious. We came in the day after a wedding with the bride and groom. Ben was our server. As soon as he found out the happy couple were newly weds he gave us the best service we’ve ever seen. Great beers, pizza, and staff make this the perfect place. Cheers Ben!

The restaurant always looks dirty and the service is not very good, it takes a while to get the attention of the waitresses even when it’s not crowded. The gigant pizza slices are okay. I would say that for the money you are paying you might as well go to a better restaurant.

Their daily special is only available Monday through Thursday, sadly. Otherwise, it’s just regular price. The pizza is just regular thickness. I would recommend getting their pre selected«flavors» rather than building your own. I think the pizza is slightly on the expensive side. I had the seafood alfredo pizza. It was good but not spectacular. Definitely ask for some ranch or other side sauce to dip your crust in. The pizza crust was very plain. I’ve seen other guests order salads, which were massive in portion, and subs. There are a lot of TV’s too, which can cause a huge distraction to the sport fanatics, aka my boyfriend. Would maybe come back again.

We’ve been here a couple of times in the past. When they are super busy things might seem a bit slow but I have to tell you that the food is good, the pizza is huge, filling and taste GREAT! Not to mention, the servers are very friendly and great at their job. We love the location, right in the middle of Mission Beach community. Lots of people, lots of fun and the beach is wonderful. Luigi’s on the Beach is a landmark not to be missed. Check it out and come hungry.

I came here with the family for an evening casual dinner after spending the day at Belmont Park. We saw the restaurant featured on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives on Food Network, so we had pretty high expectations. Upon walking in, I noticed the restaurant was definitely a dive. It was a little bit dirty and grungy. We were promptly seated. Our waitress wasn’t the most attentive and warm but she did her duties well. Let me say, the pizza here is absolutely delicious! The veggie pizza was incredible; it was filled with vegetables and ooey gooey cheese. The crust is to die for. I would return for the amazing pizza!

Ok, so I’m biased. I’ve been coming to Luigi’s for at least 15 years and reading some reviews, I smile while others make me cringe. It is a locally owned pizza and italian spot with local beers right on Mission Beach. They have been been in business for over 30 years and after talking with the bartender it is frequented by locals, folks who have to stop every time they come back to town(like me) and tourist. First, I’ve never had anything but pizza here — I probably should but I’m a sucker for tradition. Second, you’re at Mission Beach, expect to pay tourist prices regardless if your a tourist or not. When I go to Bishop to buy bread, I know I’m paying at least double what I should because it’s a tourist destination. So if you’re looking for a cheap grab n’ go lunch place, this isn’t your place. However, if you’re looking for a place to grab a slice with 3 toppings and a beer for around $ 10, then this is your place! The pizza slices are HUGE! And the pictures do not do them justice. They come out on oval paper plates and they drape over the sides of the plate. Now, here’s the good part. If you’ve ever been to New York, you’ll know that they pre-bake their pizzas with sauce and cheese. Then they’ll load your toppings and«reheat» them in the oven. Same goes for Luigi’s. The ‘bigger than your head’ slices are already pre-baked, then you tell them what you’re in the mood for and they take it from there. It cuts the wait time down considerably especially during their busy season — i.e. any day above 70 degrees. Also the crust is thin and crispy and perfect! Other than the food, what else do they have? They have a large selection of local beer on tap. I’m a junkie for local beers and since moving to Reno(although I love our local beer scene) nothing will take the place of Southern California beers. The beers change out and they update their menus from lightest to darkest. The best part is on Thursdays, you can get 2 for one on beer. They also have wine and a small bar for whatever else you might be looking for. FInally, the atmosphere. They are right on Mission Beach although they don’t look at the ocean. They have indoor and outdoor seating in what can be described as typical Southern California beach décor. It’s comfy, casual and eclectic. They usually have Sublime or some other form of reggae/rock mix in the background and from the window seats you can watch the traffic or the palm trees — whichever you prefer. The staff is friendly, courteous and will give you suggestions on where to go next for your San Diego adventure.

We stopped in after a bike ride on the beach. The giant slice pepperoni and spaghetti. They were both very good and the service was attentive. It’s your typical beachside restaurant with not a lot of atmosphere but the food and prices were reasonable for the area

There’s cockroaches all over the kitchen, unsanitary kitchen no ph strips to test water. A majority of the staff have a record. The marinara sauce is made and sits till used no dating or labeling. Overall this place needs to be remodeled re-staffed and bought out or sold. Nothing is fresh from the kitchen all good including salads, lasagna, etc are made the week before then thawed out.

Good place to grab a giant pizza(30″) or a giant slice on Mission Beach. It is not the best pizza you have ever had but it is probably the best on Mission Beach. We stop here ever time we visit this area. We did try the homemade mozzarella stick tonight and they were amazing. Our waiter Ricky was great. If you are around Belmont Park, give it a try.

Recently, I had acquired a craving for excellent by the bay style pizza and pasta. To my displeasure, when I arrived at Luigi’s At The Beach, it didn’t meet my high expectations. After ordering, we settled down in a near the window. My fellow settlers and I waited at least a fortnight before our dishes were served to us. Our food arrived, way too much for a few men to eat, which caused more displeasure. At this point I was exceedingly unhappy with the conditions of the restaurant. I would strongly recommend bringing more than a few horses if you plan on ordering multiple meals. Although the food was alright, I recommend bringing sleeping bags for your wait so you don’t have to return to your settlements before your order.

Stopped for lunch with family. Two of us had the lunch specials. My son had the fettuccine I had the spaghetti with meat sauce. My other son had a chicken sandwich with onion rings. My wife had a Gargan Zola burger with french fries. They were all very good. They had a very large selection of draft beers. My wife had a very tasty Pilsner. While I enjoyed a vanilla flavored beer and one called the legacy. We are vacationing here in Pacific beach. I would definitely come back here again.

Horrible food. I ordered a slice of pizza and although pizza is a food that is difficult for me not to enjoy, I couldn’t choke down more than a couple of bites. It was also extremely rude of the staff to make my family with small children and I give up our table because one family member was trying to find parking and on the way. Absolutely RIDICULOUS.

Giant pizza slices, great happy hour deals & tons of local beer on tap. Our service was great(we sat at the bar), and everyone had a blast! We came in the evening in fall, so we didn’t experience any of the flies that other commenters are complaining about, but I would definitely not agree that this was a bad environment. I’d be happy to come back at any time!

This place is UNDERRATED. We had 2HUGE slices — one with meatballs and one with bacon. And a solid small(but actually pretty large) salad to go. Bigger isn’t always better but in this case, giving credit where credit is due. What we had was really yummy. Extra star for excellent service.

Almost $ 8 for a premade giant slice that been sitting under the counter behind the high chefs area when you walk in with all the Flys when I can order a whole pizza for that much? Our generations culture is shifting. We have much higher standards than this, yes I’m sure they are profitable durring the summer with the tourist family’s who don’t care and just want thier screening childeren to shut up but a few simple changes can change thier fate from another long time staple in MB Saskas that was inevitably forced to sell for the same type of treatment to the locals needs!

This food is AMAZING! We’re here on vacation and have picky eaters(children) and food connoisseur parents. :-) Our kids ate all their chicken tenders, fries, spaghetti, and salad. Mom and dad split the«Football» calazone. They give you a bottle of ranch dressing so you don’t have to keep asking for more. Lol. Also, the ranch is delicious and obviously homemade. Loud environment so we blended in well with our 3&4 year olds. We wanted to branch out and try other places while we’re here, but this place is so good, we’re ordering AGAIN tonight to-go! The calazone is $ 20 but it can easily feed two starving adults(and we kinda eat a lot).

Location, location, location. Situated within throwing distance of the Mission Beach roller coaster, Luigi’s At The Beach really wouldn’t have to be very good to be successful. But it’s pretty good anyway. What are their strengths? Giant pizza slices quickly served. A great selection of beers. A great casual vibe with televisions aplenty. Friendly servers. What are their weaknesses? Inconsistent quality. The giant slices are warmed after you select your topping, which is the tradeoff you make for speedy service. The pizza sauce is also kind of generic. We have had luck ordering fresh pizzas individually, which takes a little longer while solving the warmed over pizza issue. The white pizza is a family favorite. The kids meals are not really well thought out, but are a cheap way to add a Caesar salad to your family’s meal. A good value. And what’s a restaurant without a t-shirt eating challenge? I won’t answer that question, but Luigi’s has a fun one. I’ve definitely had better pizza elsewhere, but there’s something about Luigi’s that keeps me coming back.

The beer was good, Ordered craft beers, something Hubba Bubba and Honey Hips something or the other… ordered a huge slice… The service was good… I guess you are paying for the atmosphere, but I still find it hard to believe that two slices and three beers cost us 60 bucks??? Whatever… just prepare yourself, hold onto your wallet… you really don’t get what you are highly paying for…

Sehr leckere Pizza bzw. Giant Pizza Slices.
