Great fresh quality food made by the culinary students. Fresh daily baked bread rolls and tasty meats and seafood. Have eaten there several times last semester. Tried the tasty nicoise salad and real crab CA roll dish, fried macaroni and cheese balls and kimchi fried rice. Bread rolls are baked fresh daily. Entrée is between $ 7-$ 9(including fresh salmon and halibut). Service is sometimes slow, so be patient. Also free dessert Thursday’s with any purchase of entrée.

I can’t believe it took me this long to m fusion. The semester is almost over. I’m so blown away. 1. It’s really good food. 2. It’s not to expense. 3.Did I mention the good food? 4.its a place where students can learn and practice cooking in a natural setting. So I have to say this place is hard to find. I knew it was by the cafeteria but every time I looked I always came up empty. Until one day I saw a bunch of tables behind the cafeteria and asked the people sitting there where M Fusion was. Turns out i had found it but it was closed for the day. So, I came the next day. The food was delicious. There where a few glitches. First I had to ask for silver wear and for my desert. It didn’t bug me that much. This is a leading environment after all and who can complain with $ 9.75 for a meal and desert. I think this place is great. Anyone who goes to mesa should try it at least once.

Throughout the fall of 2013 I have come here on several occasions for lunch and have had good experiences. The food is typically delicious, healthy and affordable for college students. Some of my favorites are onion rings, fried eggplant, salmon, mashed potatoes with chopped bacon and chocolate chip cookies. Downsides: at times the long can be long to order and this in my opinion is unnecessary. Check your food carefully since I have at times found hair on the plate. The chef/professor that runs the place, Tanya, typically comes by the tables of professors and employees and asks them how their food is while not asking people who are obviously students.

This is a fun place if your hungry and trying burn some time. I go here every now and then and it’s always been good. Sometimes the wait can be kinda long but they are students it will cost you about 7 bucks for an entrée and 2 sides plus a dessert

Here’s a great way to cheer for San Diego’s future line cooks and«wanna be» chefs. On Mondays and Tuesdays from 4:15 — 6:00PM you can dine in the staff/faculty dining room at Mesa college where culinary students are cooking and serving. Table cloths and flaming desserts? Fun. Second year students plan, prep, cook, and deliver your meal for $ 15(cash only). There are two choices for each of the four courses. They said the menu changes once a month. I had the salad, a tasty sliced duck breast with an Asian drizzle, lamb chops with couscous and blanched green beans, and peach tiramusu. They’re students, so be gentle and go with the flow. It’s a fun treat and a great way to support budding cooks. The Café is the staff/faculty dining room. Before you go, pull up the Mesa campus map. Look for the H Buildings, where the cafeteria and Café are located. Find the big parking garage near the entrance. Be sure to buy a parking pass at one of the machines. Stroll one block towards the cafeteria entrance, but don’t stop there… keep going another 20 steps or so. Take a left down the hall and go through the wooden fence. Ta Da! Say hello to Chef Reid and culinary student Jake for me.

Tucked away behind the main cafeteria at Mesa College is a hidden treasure called M Fusion Café. This is where culinary arts students practice their craft and San Diegans can reap the benefit. For $ 15(tax included), you are served a four-course meal, including coffee or iced tea. No one student receives gratuity, all tips are added to a fund to buy new equipment for the facility. Yes they are open limited hours… because the entire facility is staffed by students. And yes, their menu only changes every 4 – 5 weeks… but this gives each student the opportunity to work through prep, cooking, and service. So just to reiterate, these are students under chef supervision. Not everything will be perfect. But when I visited, some things were pretty damn perfect, including the lamb(see picture) and the Bananas Foster.
