Ava Magoo! PB&J with cheeses? Add bacon!?! It’s the most awesome sandwich at the OB Farmer’s Market, hands down. It’s tasty even when you’re clear eyed!

I’ve had the pleasure of enjoying these cheese-filled masterpieces at the OB Farmer’s Market and also at the Coronado Brewing Co(they pop up at a lot of tasting rooms, which is perfect since they rarely have food and grilled cheeses taste pretty frickin good with some ice cold beer!!) When we stopped by the market, my fiancé and I tried a Totes McGoats(goat cheese!!!) and the Lunch Lady(so cheesy, with Sloppy Joe, extra sloppy!!) Both were delicious and kept us full for the rest of the night without feeling gross or overly full. This time at the tasting room, we split a Katers Taters(all sorts of deliciousness that includes a perfectly crispy hash brown) and a Pump up the Jam(with bacon, but it can be made without if you want/need to go meatless). Once again, awesome experience, no complaints!

Holy crap. Talk about a find! The only reason the guys don’t have a full 5 stars from me is because of the relatively small menu. I’d love it if they had a few more vegetarian sandwich options. But I will say the mushroom sandwich they have is absolutely nothing short of mindbendingly awesome. Good enough for me to schedule our trips INTO san diego such that we can grab a bite of their food before the close up at the tasting room. Really Culture. They’re the reason I come to your tasting room. Sure your beer is good… but the mushroom sandwich… ZOMFG!

The OB «lifestyle» plus massive grilled cheeses. All they need to do is partner with a dispensary and they’ll be rolling in the dough. Of all the food at the farmer’s market I keep coming back to this place. As Tom Petty once said«the waiting is the hardest part». That is certainly true here. It’s cruel that they make you watch while the sandwiches slowly melt on the grill. It’s worth the wait though.

«Grilled Cheese? I can just make that at home…» No, you can’t. The bearded mastermind behind these sandwiches must receive divine intervention from a higher, culinary power… Let’s assume this being is named«Cheezus Crust». Thank you, Cheezus, for inspiring the creators of these culinary delights. If you haven’t had one of these sammiches, it’s time to take action.

Great sandwiches at a fair price. Do yourself a favor and find them at some of the farmers markets they do around town. Wednesdays in Ocean Beach are a great midweek treat. Owners are super nice and fun too!

Awesome owners who know their product and make grilled cheese an experience not to be forgotten! I love walking to the farmers market in Ocean Beach knowing this treat is waiting for me there every Wednesday. Kater’s Taters is my favorite and melts in your mouth, but what is most fun is that they are always coming up with new combos based on the current season and a catchy title for the cheezer. You can’t go wrong, check them out and re-introduce yourself to what a grilled cheese should truly be!

Down to earth business owners with excellent and creative grilled cheese sandwiches! This is not just your average grilled cheese. There are all sorts and the bread is HUGE so you are getting a full meal. I like the Katers Taters sandwich :) Gotta try Johnny Brie Good, that one looks classy.

Most amazing sandwich I’ve had! Split the Kater’s Taters and the Sleepy Pedro with a friend. Not sure which I like better, they’re both delicious. This is no ordinary grilled cheese. These are CHEEZERS!!!

Best grilled cheese! Since discovering them, we walk to the OB farmers market every wed and get one! My fav was the THC(turkey ham and cheese) but they don’t have it anymore. But the sleepy Pedro is amazing! Guac, cheese, taco chips!!! It’s a gooey goodness!

Love Mad Munch! Such creative combinations of delicious ingredients! AND the pick-on-a-stick is my favorite addition. Who doesn’t love a huge grilled cheese sandwich with a pickle?! Their Johnny Brie Good is my favorite. Two thumbs up!

The Mad Munch truck can be found at the very end of the Golden Hill Farmers Market line-up every Saturday. My boyfriend loves the Cock-a-Doodle Dude grilled cheese from Mad Munch, but I’m a lady, on a diet, so we’ve set up an arrangement where I get a green juice from the empanada folks(green juice, empanadas, makes perfect sense?) a few trucks down while he orders his sandwich. It comes with gooey American cheese oozing from between two thick slices of grilled sourdough bread, stuffed with ham, a fried egg and all the fiery Sriracha sauce your stomach can handle. Oh. Lord. You can see the problem here, right? Do you really think I drink only my liquid vegetables while he goes to town on all of that? NO, because I am weak in the face of cheese and bread. Fortunately, my boyfriend is generous and I have pretty good resolve to hit the gym regularly. On top of sinfully scrumptious food at reasonable prices, the husband and wife who run this joint on wheels are as delightful as delightful can be. Come here and check them out — no matter where you are, it’ll be worth your while.

This is the second week for this young couple at the OB Farmer’s Market. The sammie I tried tonight was off the hook! I Can’t remember the name of it, but it had hash browns, bacon(mmmm, bacon… oh, in middle of writing a review!) sour cream, chives, mexican and cheddar cheeses on grilled sourdough bread. Sorry, bit of drool running down chin here. Crunch and layered flavors, what more do ya want in life? I shared it with a friend and she also flipped over it. Big, tasty and filling… just like my men. Only $ 6! All the sandos are $ 5 – 6. For a buck or two more, you can get chips and a drink. Ok, now my favorite new food booth at the market. WELCOME!

Mad Munch serves quick and delicious grilled cheese! The sandwiches are made fresh right in front of you with any number of options including bacon, guacamole, ranch, etc. They are big and tasty enough for a meal to fill your belly! I would highly recommend visiting them at any number of local Farmer’s Markets they currently attend!
