Nailed it, Nick D. First experience with these guys in 2008 was solid; I’d say solid at 5 stars, and it was only because of my rep, Chris DiNofia, who has since moved onto bigger & better things. My most recent refinance with this group was going great until I was deceived by one of their new reps. He had a «misunderstanding» that resulted in me receiving an escrow refund at loan closing that was significantly less than what I was told I was receiving. Still haven’t been told where that money from my escrow account went & why it was deducted from my account without my knowledge. All I got from them was a «sorry for the inconvenience our misunderstanding caused you.» Crooked, crooked way of doing business. Recommend you go with someone else for your home finance needs.

I’d previously reviewed this place with 1 star and«there are no words» It’s taken 18 months but I’m finally calm enough to be able to review them without needing strong medication… Buying a house is a stressful time for most people. You want a team on your side that you can trust, who you know understands your stress, empathizes and works to minimize it. So not: Having someone review the loan docs one issue at a time, sending them back the moment they find an issue. If they’d collate all issues in to one list, it could be resolved in one go. By sending back after each issue, many days can be wasted. Having a computer system that shut down in Utah and they just stopped processing they day we were supposed to sign. Telling you, «Oh, we misquoted. Your three months taxes in advance need to be twelve. Please find several thousand dollars and rush it across town to the escrow people by tonight or your loan will be held up.» Outright laughing in your face when you show frustration. I was told that the above screwups were a totally normal part of their industry and to just get used to it as nothing would ever change.

TERRIBLETERRIBLETERRIBLE! I worked for this company. You can’t imagine the things that go on behind closed doors!!! All they are is money motivated. As a customer if they don’t call you back(which happened a lot) it’s because they’re scrambling to figure out how they f-up. Trust me I know. The sales managers would come into the operations staff office and there would be a war of words that you wouldn’t believe! Cursing etc. Sales staff blaming the operations staff and the operations staff blaming the sales staff. It was a huge cluster! If your loan amount was low or if they weren’t making much money off of you– You are at the end of the line. Most of their loan officers are really young and unfortunately haven’t been in the business that long thus they don’t know much about today’s mortgage market. As an employee, they had no respect for you unless you were making them money all while they paid us peanuts. When we were hired they told us we would have vacation time and sick time. Then months later they dropped a bomb on us and told us that they would not be providing us with vacation time and sick time! If you need to get their real attention– Call their corporate office Primary Residential Mortgage, located in Salt Lake City, Utah. From experience I can tell you that the corporate office is VERY by the book and they treat their employees very well. Unfortunately, they don’t get to see the day to day branch operations. Obviously, I left this terrible place. Not being able to find another company right away, I was lucky to find another Primary Residential branch located in Mira Mesa/Sorrento Valley area. What can I say?! Let me put it this way– when I gave my 2 weeks notice. My last check was short $ 1000. I had to call the corporate office Human Resources dept in UTAH because the Branch Manager at this branch would not return my phone calls or emails. The corporate office ended up cutting me a check and charged that branch. What a mess!

Nick D — you took the words right out of my mouth. This is quite possibly the *worst* experience I have ever had in dealing with a business. I don’t know where to start. Bad from beginning to end. ZERO communication, ZERO efficiency, ZEROZEROZERO. Unfortunately, Unilocal is requiring me to give them at least one star… and they don’t even deserve that. When they call to sell you a loan, DONOTTAKETHECALL!
