Super friendly service, and decent Italian food from a food truck. Prices are reasonable. My boyfriend had the chicken parm sandwich, which was decent. I had the lobster ravioli which was ok, but it did have a slight taste to it that made me think the lobster may have been frozen or maybe it was a little older than usual. It’s a food truck though, so… It was a minor thing to me really. I still ate it as the sauce was delish. The friendly service made it a great food truck experience.

After careful consideration, I picked Mangia Mangia Mobile among the selection of food trucks @ the Beer and Music festival because it seemed the least boring… tacos and burgers don’t always excite me because they’re always around(cmon, it’s a San Diegan thing). I made the right choice :) –Portabella Burger is A1, buy it and try it(arugula, pesto, portabella mushroom cap, truffle oil, garlic, all that good stuff) –good vegetarian option ^^ –very friendly cashier –was on a food truck show on the food network!

I recently photographed a wedding that had the Mangia Mangia food truck as their caterer and they definitely did not disappoint! The food was absolutely delicious and the staff was very friendly and professional. Even though I was also hired help, they made sure to take care of me and all the other vendors at the event. They treated us as well as the wedding party. I would highly recommend eating here or having them cater your event!

Mangia Mangia Mobile is without a doubt my favorite food truck in all of San Diego. Marko does a phenomenal job of providing high quality Italian food from anywhere. One time I asked Marko if he would prepare some trays of Penne Vodka and Italian Lollipops in order for me to cater a work lunch. He did, at a great price, and everyone was amazed at how good it was. They all thought I had some inside«Italiano» connection, but when they found out it was from the Mangia Mangia Mobile truck, they were awestruck. The truck is near my office nearly every Tuesday and I make it a priority to eat there. I can honestly say that I haven’t had a dish that wasn’t up to my standard(which is high). The chicken parm is delicious, the tortellini is awesome, and even the new pizza grilled cheese is amazing. My favorite item is the Italian Hero, it reminds me so much of an Italian sub back home in NY. And of course, lets not forget the cannoli, remember, «leave the gun, take the cannolis.» I recommend this truck to everyone and if you like Italian food and food trucks, this is the truck for you.

Marko and crew are simply amazing. His food is prepared with love. He is literally my favorite food truck owner out there. Try the Lobster Raviolis… they never disappoint!!!

My florentine steak sandwich was underwhelming! The meat was hard to chew and came out of the sandwich when I tried to pull a bite. Needed more flavor as well. The rest of the food I tried was tasty. But nothing spectacular. I would eat it again if convenient to do so. But… The owner was really great! Super funny and was serious about customer service. I would love to support this truck again because of him.

I love Italian food, so I was excited to have Italian food at lunch especially with it delivered. I’ve ate at the Operacafe truck and that was one of my favorite food trucks since getting to San Diego. I paid 13 bucks for Lobster Ravolis. I’ve had devilicious Lobster Grilled cheese, which was amazing, and from another food truck caled Not So Fast, a few other delicicies which I wasn’t expecting. So I was ready for something good and unique. Instead what I got was four(count, not types) cheese ravoli. They might have contained lobster at some point, but I couldn’t find the taste. Overall the food was very disappointing. I love eating at food trucks, but I won’t be returning to Mangia Mangia.

This place catered our work lunch. It seemed amazing by the reviews. We had a choice of 4 menu items. I couldn’t decide what I wanted, so I asked the lady taking orders what her favorite thing was. She said the Eggplant Parm sandwich. Sweet. Ordered that. Hmmm… I should have known when it came out in 3 minutes, that it was sitting under a heatlamp or heat drawer. It was soggier than a baby’s diaper, as was the bread. I would have gladly waited 10 – 20 minutes longer for a fresh sandwich. Being a former restaurant server, I can understand shortcuts. But this was bad. Some other coworkers had the Chicken Parm and said it was pretty good. But others said the ravioli was so so. All in all, I would give it another try, but don’t hire them for a group. Pre-made food destroys it. Cook to order. People will wait for tasty treats.

The food truck appeared again tonight. I tried the cheese tortellini this time and it was excellent. Seriously, you need this food truck in your life.

I just went over to the«Mangia Mangia» truck today, and I asked about the lasagna. The order taker started praising the dish in an exaggerated Italian accent, cynically playing it up for the benefit of stupid backwoods tourists. I was informed there were two types of lasagnas on the menu, one of which was a sandwich #@? and one was conventional pasta«short rib» lasagna *&^%? Rather than responding to these three indications of phoniness by immediately existing the premises of said establishment, I suffered a temporary bout of insanity and proceeded to order the so called«short rub» lasagna. What I was served were short ribs wrapped in a pastry drenched in a repulsive sugary sauce of unknown provinence. They were a type of lasagna in the exact same sense as Horse Radish is a type of horse. In summary, their food bus should be replaced the short bus

We just had used Marko at our wedding reception in Balboa Park. What a GREAT selection. We met Marko at a food tasting in La Mesa, what a find this was. We tasted a lot of food and had to minimize our menu to just a few choices from a large selection of his. We went with the sausage and mushroom lasagna, 3 different raviolis and a Cesar salad. II have not had one bad or ‘ehhh’ review from our 150 guests. Everyone was delighted to meet this fun and highly energetic owner and his crew. Each meeting with Marko was professional and quick. The food on the day was fresh, hot, flavorful and plentiful. Most of all, you didn’t get a small serving from the kitchen. The service in and out of the kitchen was also very quick, there was a very short 1 or 2 minute wait because of the line. We am very thankful for using Mangia Mangia at our reception and we will continue to find his truck. Thanks Marko!!! What a nite!

Order the meatball subs. They were quite tasty, and not overwhelmed with sauce or cheese, which can sometimes happen with the subs. Service was decent for a food truck.

Mangia Mangia is fantastic! We used them to cater our wedding and they did a fantastic job. Marko and his team were professional, fun with our guests and the food was amazing. We had the BBQ short rib lasagna, eggplant parm, gorgonzola salad along with Italian lollipops and bruschetta as appetizers. I would highly recommend not only finding his truck where ever it pops up(we’ve had it on separate occasions and its always great), but for catering, as well. Thanks a ton, Marko!

Mangia Mangia has excellent Italian fare. The Lobster Ravioli and Pesto Fries were definitely my favorite. Very good portion size. Can’t wait to try more of his menu items. We invited Marko and his crew to help us provide food options at private event at church. Marko was easy to work with and very flexible. His food got great reviews from all the people I talked to. What a blessing to have them there!

AMAZINGLYDELICIOUSAUTHENTICITALIANFOOD. I eat here weekly because of the great service, friendly employees, and and variety of yummy Italian options. I would recommend any of their pastas, fresh caprese salad, and their salads! I look forward to trying the other options soon. Definitely check out Mangia Mangia food truck if you’re looking for authentic Italian food. Make sure to say hi to Marko — he’s the nicest!

Everyone loves Mangia Mangia. It’s no mystery why: the proprietor’s ebullient personality brightens everyone’s day! I came with two colleagues who knew the man well. As a result, we were given three mini-cannoli as a going away present after our orders were complete. I had the spaghetti and meatballs, «a kiss of love from your mother» I think it’s called. It was pretty solid. There was a big volume of marinara sauce in the bottom of the cardboard tub; this ensured that the pasta was in no danger of getting dry. The pasta itself was nothing to write home about, but I did like the meatballs. A big chunk of garlic bread was included as well in case I was suffering from a carb deficit. A friend of mine had a food truck in Oakland and is about to open a brick and mortar restaurant in the same city. A news article about the imminent opening included this snippet: «…[she and her partner] were driven by the fact that not many other food trucks in the burgeoning Bay Area scene were serving ‘nutritional fast food’ — instead, it was mostly fried foods that would leave diners feeling sluggish afterward.» Down here in SoCal, it’s just as easy to find food trucks that are not exactly healthy. Mangia Mangia does a good job of serving food that’s both honest and appealing. I hope to be a repeat customer.

Wow, this place was amazeeee! The food truck is outside of our building on Wednesdays for lunch so i decided to give it a try. The guy running it is so nice and hilarious. The staff is all very friendly and the food is quick! Food: I tried the eggplant parmagiana sandwich and the roll was really good. The sauce and eggplant were good too, but i really judge a sandwich by its hoagie roll, and this one passed. My friend got the lobster ravioli which she said was awesome too. The guy gave our whole group some tiramisu to try, and i will definitely be getting more of that next time. Ridiculously yummy.

Next time you are at a food truck fest, do not pass this truck without eating here first. We found Mangia Mangia in South Park on a Tuesday night. Fresh homemade Italian food at its finest. Mario the owner and chef is a master at pasta, not to mention friendly and really fun to talk to. We tried the lobster ravioli, the short rib lasagna, and the fried risotto balls. All three were incredible. Home made pasta, fresh lobster in a pink champagne cream sauce — I mean, it doesn’t get any better than that. The short rib lasagna was so unique and delicious. So was the risotto. Make sure you save room for desert, the cannoli is the perfect finish. Definitely coming back. And if I ever have to plan a wedding, I’m calling on Marco to cater!

Love the owner. Very energetic and talented. I was not sure what to order, and he offered a sample of the Farro salad. I ordered the Farro salad and it was amazing. I mean what could possibly taste bad with extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar. I have never tried Farro before. The salad came with little mozzarella balls, basil, arugula and tomatoes. It is very healthy and very filling. As the owner put it, you feel like you will be in heaven. I had the chance to experience Mangia Mangia Milano food truck last week when they came by my work in down town San Diego. I hope I come across these guys again. Ciao

Living at Portofino apartments has its perks; one of them is the weekly food trucks! Mangia Mangia has been my favorite so far and the first truck I’m taking time to review. What we got: Hubby got the Mangia burger without the cheese(tragic I know, but he doesn’t eat cheese – which is even more tragic). He is a burger connessour(sp) and really enjoyed it. The meat was flavorful and juicy. and the pancetta and red pepper made it extra YUM. I bet it’s even better with the gorgonzola that is supposed to compliment it. I could tell the guy was avidly let down and dismayed he had to make it without it. Overall — great burger !! I had the lobster ravioli which was really good! I would love if the raviolis had a little more stuffing but they were still yummy. Sauce was perfect and not too heavy like some sauces can be. My favorite part I think was the side garlic bread… But maybe that’s because I haven’t had real gooey bread in a while. I could of had 17 of those. We also ordered the risotto balls. They were really good but I wouldn’t get them again… Wishing we ordered the fried meatballs instead!

Well first off the of guy who was taking orders at December nights is hilarious. He was so loud but was such a fun person. I got the chicken parmigiana sand which and it was pretty good. Great bread for this type of sandwich and it was perfectly toasty but the chicken breast was too thin for the big roll. It also slides off the roll very easy. Overall great sandwich and the pesto fries are on point as well.

Marko is absolutely amazing! Mangia Mangia catered our wedding last Saturday 8⁄30 in East Village at Luce Loft. The food was unbelievable and Marko and his team were just wonderful.
