I love coming here to get shrimp tacos. I like the taste, portion size, and price. Here is the catch it is a food truck and there is no seating. They can be unorganized at times or the wait can be long. It’s a hit or miss. You do need cash because they don’t take card. They do give you a small cup of free soup. There is salsa prepared and limes that are cut. They do try to sweep often. I would rate this place 3.5−4 stars. I always come back.

We ordered two tostadas de ceviche and a fish taco. There was only two people other than us and there was no napkins, lemons or salsa. The food was mediocre, we ate it anyways because we were really hungry. Half way into the tostada de ceviche, we found a long blond hair. We decided to not even bother saying anything, we threw the food away and went elsewhere. Lesson learned.

i go i buy 5 fish tacos and 7 shrimp tacos i get my order in 3 covered plates, i go back to work since i was in my lunch and was buying for people at work i opened the plates only 3 tacos per plate, 3×3=9 and i could only find 1 shrimp taco, ok so it was a mistake i understand i go back, they tell me im lying i tell them they only gave me 3 plates with 3 tacos, they say theyll give them to me but that next time i have to open the plates right there, ok so they start making them and the lady starts screaming how she did put all the tacos there in 3 plates(impossible) and how convenient it was for the shrimp tacos to be missing instead of the fish ones really? wow really really bad costumer service!

This is the best mariscos truck there is! I prefer to buy from here than from a seafood restaurant. Their ceviche, shrimp burritos, and tacos are my favorite.

Not the absolute best I’ve tried, but very convenient and probably the best mariscos I have tried coming out of a lunch truck. I love the mar y Tierra taco, one is usually enough. Also get the ceviche tostadas. The REAL reason I love to go? The clamato sencillo with a cold beer, the best. Call ahead so you won’t have to wait! The number on Unilocal is wrong but the number on their menu(look at pics) is correct, someone’s cell but it has always worked for me.

So the fish tacos are not terrible but it’s hard to screw up a taco, you have to really try. Insipid is the word. I asked for a ceviche tostada to go. I get home pop the lid on the styrofoam cup and was extremely disappointed to say the least. Peaces of raw shrimp, pico de gallo and avocado. No lime juice or salt. Just a bad experience all around. If I could give negative stars this place would get –5 from me.

$ 1.25 for a fish taco, I’ll take 100! Not really, but I will eat like five with no problem. If your down to take a trip through el barrio and into the hood, take a scenic drive down to this little gem. Don’t get distracted by Northgate Market, your destination lies a few blocks beyond. I’ve eaten at a few of the German locations and they are all great! Aside from tacos, they also have some amazing cocktails, ceviche, and caldos(soup/stew). Jump in line cause this place gets busy, I have seen people spend over $ 100 on food here. This is some of the best hangover food around!

I am eating the food I got from here as I type. So my taste bud’s memory is still fresh. First, they should have a warning sign for their complimentary veggie toppings with the onions and stuff. It burned my mouth after I had only an inch of onion! Imagine if I had more! But I did witness someone who almost cried after eating them with his taco. CRAZY right? For your info, I eat spicy Asian food almost everyday. Don’t mess with habanero or ghost chili peppers! Lol

I feel at home, just as good as in Mexico, absolutely love them, the only bad thing is that they run out of Diet Cokes very often, how can I ask for that extra taco if I drink regular coke? Now with the new«Walmart neighborHOOD» across the street, I can get all the diet cokes and tacos that my heart desires… My daughter loves the«consome» she’s 3 years old and that’s 1 of the few dishes she eats ’til she finishes all.

You have to eat here! The fish tacos are the very best in San Diego. They are the most authentic fish tacos, waaay better than Rubios. Try the governadores you will not regret it. They give you soup while you wait for your order too.

Fish tacos. yum! Who can’t resist some great fish tacos? And who can’t resist eating at a «roach coach»? Me! Me! Me! Some of the best tacos are from these so-called«roach coaches», whether they be in TJ or in San Diego. I ended up stopping at this location due to the fact it’s down the street from my wifeys work. I was a little earlier and ordered a taco. After eating that«one taco» I had to come back and get some more. The first couple of visits that I’ve been here they have had some quality tacos, ingredients, and the caldos were hot. The last visit I came here, the fish taco wasn’t the greatest and the caldo was cold and had wayyyy too much salt in it. Here’s the break down on German taco truck #2: The Bueno(good): –Great fish tacos(they are usually cooked to perfection, pretty big fish, and fresh tortillas) — The hot sauces that come with it are also pretty good(try the habenero!) –The Caldo(basically 7 seas soup) which comes complimentary with your tacos. Make sure you load up with lots of salsa! –The Ceviche: Comes on 2 taco shells, and has a enough portion for 2. It’s fresh, has great taste, and comes with avocado. The Malo(bad): –Sometimes there are long lines as the truck has some good tasting tacos –Quality if food isn’t always the same. Some days I have went the food was fresh and hot — Other days it tasted as if they were rushing to get their food out even when it wasn’t busy. –No Sodas? Common people, get your crap together. They only sell mexican sodas. You all need to get some Coka Cola! –No salsa on certain days or lemons…, again get it together Maria! I still think that Fish Mart down in San Ysidro has better service, and usually serves a better fresher taco. Plus the fact that you get to sit down is always a plus. I like German tacos, due to the location is only 10 minutes from my house. You all better step up your game!

Been wanting to try one of their food trucks since I saw an Yahoo article about Mariscos. We stopped by and was worried their menu would only be in Spanish but luckily for us, it was in English. We wanted to try their ceviche but didn’t see it on the menu so we ordered what we though would be it, Aquachile Tostada(Shrimp with tomatoes, red onions and avocados) and a Fish taco. You also get free shrimp soup while you wait! It was pretty chilly outside that I was shivering but the soup warmed us up so much we didn’t even notice it was cold anymore. It was really flavorful and delicious! The Fish taco was also really good, one of the best that I’ve had in awhile. It was nicely seasoned and the fish was crunchy. The Aquachile wasn’t exactly what we were hoping for. The shrimp was whole and the lime juice didn’t fully cook it yet so we went home and heated it on in the microwave for a bit. After it was fully cooked we had some on the tostada and it was sooooo good! Lots of flavor and just the right combinations of ingredients. Would definitely come back again!

Ok. So I have came here a few times. I work right down the street from it. I usually get my tacos to go because of the lunch rush the tend to get. My tacos when I get them to go were okay. Well one day I was able to eat there and MAN what a HUGE difference. The fish tacos are super good. And the Shrimp Ceviche is bomb. It It is a definite must try without a doubt!

The third and final stop to our fish taco crawl! I’m so glad we ended here. partially because the button on my jeans were going to burst(jeans? on a food eating spree? rookie mistake.) and because ending with a Mariscos Fish Taco was a perfectly delicious way to drift into a food coma. The fish tacos here were definitely memorable. Silky piece of battered fish on a corn tortilla with all the appropriate toppings. A pretty big taco and so fulfilling. it still didn’t compare to TJ Oyster Bar but, could definitely hold it’s own in the fish taco world! We also ordered the Shrimp Tostada which, we both really enjoyed. They gave us a huge portion of freshly diced shrimp, tossed with tomatoes, red onions and topped with thick slices of avocado. most of the shrimp was raw and cooked from the acidity of the lime juice and tasted so fresh and light. We were sent home from this place with happy little pot bellies ready for a nap.

MARLINTACO = AMAZING! Dont be surprised if it looks like pork or beef when you first open it, its marlin. Huge chunks of marlin with melted cheese, grilled onions and bellpepper, wrapped in a corn tortilla. Costs$ 3.75 but its a lot more filling than the other tacos. Octopus(pulpo) taco and Fish taco were also good. They also give a free cup of soup. Very filling with shrimp and veggies, but too salty for me. I would decline the soup next time around. CONS: No tables, cash only.

Having Unilocaler friends from other cities can have many advantages. Case in point — I wouldn’t have known about this place nor ventured anywhere near here being a tourist. This is where a local guide comes in handy to show you around the not-so-beaten-paths. Thanks to Marisol C., she gave us a glimpse of what San Diego and the surrounding areas have to offer; and this is just the tip of the iceberg. In this case, it was in National City. I love Taco Trucks, and this particular one specializes in seafood. In fact, we were so impressed that we had to make a return visit before leaving this lovely town. It’s always a good sign to see when all the locals are lining up around the block to get some grub. The locals even suggested what to order once they found out we weren’t from around there. I have to tell you that you can’t go wrong with whatever you order, but you have to get the ceviche. This is bar none the best ceviche I’ve ever had anywhere in the Bay or California. It had the right balance of acidity so it wasn’t too tangy, and the juice doubled up as a cocktail. I was sippin on it like it was gin and juice. Plus the shrimp was plentiful… more like bountiful. I’ve never had more pleasure than eating from a big plastic cup. I gotta add that the Swordfish Taco fooled us. It looked liked beef, tasted like beef, smelled like beef but it was fish. All I gotta say to that was, WOW! I would definitely come back here again no matter the circumstance.
