Mark C Evans, DDS

Came here under the highest recommendation from a coworker. They were right, my son and I have found a new Dentist. Dr. Mark is professional, explains everything thoroughly, and makes you feel comfortable and well informed on whatever dental treatment you are getting.
The front desk gal Flo is super and his assistant Mel very helpful. Love this office and staff. I would highly recommend.

I’ve been coming to this dentist office for 30 years, which until a few years ago was run by Dr Jones. I will not be coming back.
The person at the front desk was specifically rude & extremely un-​accommodating. After requesting a copy of my medical records (which I had discussed with the doctor during my cleaning), I was told that I had to make an appointment to pick them up (January 16^th at 1130 was offered — about a month from now). When I clarified to ensure that I could pick them up during business hours anytime AFTER that — I was told «No, it will have to be at 1130 on 1÷16». I asked to speak to the doctor when he had a few minutes and I was willing to wait any amount of time until he was available (he was finishing up with the patient scheduled after me).
The doctor suggested a «time-​frame» on that date, which I was agreeable to — until the receptionist loudly screamed «NO! THATS NOT HOW I RUN MY OFFICE». I asked her what would be the issue with simply keeping those records until I was in the area again anytime shortly AFTER Jan 16^th — her responses were muddled and changed several times during the conversation, including «you might get upset if you come and we are closed». I told her that I had absolutely NO issue with simply «trying the door before or after one of my runs at Balboa Park», but she simply restated her position without any further explanation. As I was asking this same question (this time directed to the doctor), she loudly screamed that she would «get someone to remove me from the office». I asked if I had been respectful and if I deserved that type of treatment — the doctor replied «yes, you have been» but the receptionist again interrupted and began shouting at me. I asked if I could be called after the copy of the records were ready to which the doctor replied «yes». I simply said «thank you» and walked out.
Bad attitude, adversarial, and absolutely no concept of «customer service».

I recommend Dr. Evans to anyone who is fearful of going to the dentist. My kids are fearful of dentists but Dr. Evans was so kind, quick and informative. He explained each step along the way to them and made them aware of why oral hygiene is important. He joked along the way with them to help them feel at ease and create a bond with them.
Also, Flo (front desk) and Ana (dental assistant) are both amazing as well. Definitely coming back as a permanent patient!

Dr. Evans is as good as it gets! He is a great Dr. and if he cares half as much about his patients as much as he cares about the productsput is their mouths; then know that you will receive the best of the best care when it comes to your Dental Health. I highly recommend calling the office and making an appointment with Flo. She is a pleasure to deal with.
