Their cheesecake muffins are delightful and light. The cinnamon rolls are to die for! I am always greeted courteously when I walk in and I love the«mom and pop» feeling I experience at this independently owned small business. It’s this feeling I experience that makes me want to support small businesses such as this one. I recommend it for a quick and easy breakfast, like a breakfast sandwich or cup of coffee to-go. Also recommended for their tasty Danishes, muffins or pastries as well!

Got the triple berry muffin should change the name from marvelous to mediocre supper dry not a ton of flavor. I honestly think I could have done just as well getting a box of blueberry jiffy and two flats of black berries and made it at home but the staff was great

Great stop for a quick breakfast. Large selection of pastries consisting of mostly muffins but also offering bearclaws, coffee rolls, and apple fritters. They serve coffee, juice, and milk to go with it. Do yourself a favor and stop in at least once. You’ll be back.

Came here for a quick breakfast. This place was near our hotel. We rode our bikes here took like 5min. Place is small and cute. Not sure if the AC was broke that day but it was warm inside. I had the walnut Cinnamon roll. MMMM… so good! My friends had their ham and cheese croissant and bagel w/cream cheese. Simple, but delicious. It did the job for quick morning bite.

Tasty muffins! Croissants are decent. Small space and a bit pricey! Only visited once during our vacation on Shelter Island.

Excellent pastries. I ordered an egg and cheese croissant and they made one fresh. Really great small business vibes. 10 out of 10 would recommend

Marvelous muffins, amazing breakfast bagel sandwiches, delicious donuts, terrific coffee – what’s not to love about a family owned place amid a sea of big box franchises? Staff went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. Perfect stop on the way home from Shelter Island before hitting the long road to Arizona.

I got the pumpkin and blueberry and cran Orange muffins. The best was the cran Orange. The muffins were denser than expected and should have been fluffier. Maybe next time I’ll try a croissant.

Yesterday’s muffins, somebody else’s donuts, burnt egg bagel sandwich, and dirty cramped space. Make no mistake about it, this is not a four star by any stretch. I gave an extra star because they were open.

Loved the muffins! Fresh, even warm. We passed on the donuts with Froot Loops in the frosting, but they were an indication that Marvelous Muffins caters to all ages and palettes. They also have breakfast sandwiches… It seems to be family owned???, which is nice if that is the case. The shop is smaller than we expected from the exterior. It shares the building and has to have kitchen space of course, so the area devoted to customers is barely a hallway. There are some stools available if you choose to linger, but it seems best to take your muffin and run. Given the shop’s name, the muffin assortment was not all that extensive or creative, but every muffin we tried, we loved. Come to think of it, I’m fine with them focusing on the classics and baking them well. We’ll be back.

Not as great as the reviews would leave you to believe. Once is enough. Not fresh and relatively expensive.

We did take out from here in the morning and the food was good and the staff was friendly. The ham and cheese croissant was extra delicious because the ham was a very thick slice, not thin deli ham. The donuts were very fresh. Coffee was good too. You won’t be disappointed if you eat here.

Found this place on Unilocal and im glad that we did. We had some breakfast sandwiches and they were very good. You could tell it was freah and the coffee was freahly brewed. Totally worth the stop and ill be returning for breakfast anytime im in the area. Perfect stop on your way to the airport as its only about 8 mins away. I would push it to 5 stars if i couldnt see all the clutter in the back, that was a little bit of a turn off. Also it got a little warm eating inside. Some little tables outside to enjoy the nice san diego weather would really put this place over the top. The lady was very friendly also and helped explain the menu and even made some recommendations. Worth trying!!!

I love this place! Their muffins are the best I’ve had. Such great flavor combinations at standard prices. They taste homemade and are absolutely delicious!

Nothing marvellous from what I could tell. There were flies enjoying the insides of the pastry cases which were pretty crusty looking and far from enticing. I felt a bit queasy at the lack of cleanliness of this place so I left without daring to have a sample of their limited offerings.

I can’t believe it took me so long to eat here! I have been going here since last year as I work in the adjacent center. I have not had donuts but have had a bagel breakfast sandwich(which was delicious because there was lots of cheese) several kinds of muffins. I’m a creature of habit and get a ½ caff coffee and a cranberry or blueberry bran muffin. Sophie is always friendly and when she sees me walk in, she pours me a cup of coffee because I’m a regular now. I CRAVE the bran muffins which are chewy and not too sweet and have a large muffin top! I love the tartness of the cranberries or sweetness of the blueberries. I always eat the top first and save the bottom for later. Marvelous Muffins is a wonderful Pt. Loma gem!

First off the muffins were definitely not marvelous! They were almost not fully cooked. These muffins are not worth the price you pay for them! To top it off The lady at the counter was extremely rude and their customer service is out the door. This was my first and LAST experience with«Marvelous» Muffins.

Stopped in for breakfast as it was very near our hotel on our way out of town. It is a small place but it has the«mom and pop» feeling where everything is made with love. Okay, at first I wanted 1 of everything in the case but I did settle on a lemon cheesecake muffin. Wow! This muffin was so moist and the lemon wasn’t over powering nor was the cheesecake filling too much. It really was a perfect little bite of lemon cheesecake heaven. If I am ever in the area again I would definitely stop by for a quick breakfast.

August 5, 2014 Tuesday — breakfast 7AM 2 adults Atmosphere — 4 stars Food — 5 stars Service — 5 stars Background — Having breakfast before we end our vacation in San Diego. Atmosphere — Small place, simple and very plain, functional and nothing more. The display case could be set up better for viewing and accessing the register. Food Drink — I had a Mocha, solid. Main course — Had a triple berry muffin. These muffins were all about the huge tops. They were very moist. With both the points I look for in a muffin I think they nailed it. Service — Two people working the place. I think they knew everyone that came in Future — If in the area I do not see why not.
