Customer service is a joke here. Had to stop in a few times because I moved closer to this location, and every time except for once (when a different guy was working) I’ve walked out thinking «what the f?». The guy, who looks to be half asian, has never smiled once, rarely says hi, and barely makes eye contact. I’m not your stereotypical white male grower, so you treat me like I’m wasting your time and shouldn’t even be there? This guy literally doesn’t say a single word unless he has to («here’s your card; sign here»). I bought soil once and he rang it up in the system without bringing the bag over, runs my card, gives it back to me, and then goes «thanks bye». I kind of just stood there confused, then I realized this guy isn’t gonna offer to help get the soil to my car at all (it’s obvious I’m not very strong).
Honestly I was excited that there was a hydro store so close to where I live, but now I will make the drive to Encinitas Hydro instead of having to risk encountering that rude and unpleasant guy again. Was just about to make a big purchase to upgrade 5 lights and I’m glad I didn’t do it here.
Who knows, maybe it’s wrong of me to expect a gardening supply store to be happy and warm and willing to share knowledge. I mean that just sounds awful doesn’t it?

I have been coming to Miramar Hydroponics since I moved to Cali in 2012. If it says anything about the service and consistency, I’m still using this place and it’s almost 2016! You can try to find better prices online for the same gear, but chances are, you probably won’t! They have incredible prices and an amazing selection of items for all of your gardening and nursery desires. What’s also nice is that the staff really knows their stuff! I’ve come into the shop with vague descriptions of what I may, or may not need, and these guys always steer me in the right direction! Give this wonderful small business your patronage, I’m sure you’ll be happy you did!

The customer service here stinks. We’ve been three times and each time these guys act like we’re putting them out. They have good products. Prices were high on the Happy Frog. But gosh darn — aren’t most gardening shops and nurseries friendly places to go and chat about what’s growing? Not this place — grouchy, grouchy grouchy.
I actually had to ask for help — I’m an «old» lady — can’t pick up a bag of dirt on my own. Gosh.

Travis knows everything there is to know about hydroponics! This shop is clean and stocked with everything you could possibly need! Friendly atmosphere and great prices! Definitely the best hydroponic shop in town!

Awesome awesome place. First time customer and picked up exactly what I needed. Excellent prices too.

I’ve been shopping here for almost two years now, These guys are by far the most knowledgeable growers in San Diego. and better yet their super friendly. I’d been to just about every other hydro store in San Diego, and was tired of condescending attitudes, and lack luster customer service. All the guys here are super friendly, and have years of growing experience to help you solve any problems you might have with your room.
The store itself is massive, and fully stocked, they have just about everything a commercial or hobbyist grower could ever need. And even if your looking for some rare product, (i.e. 12″ Big Blue ozone generator) the guys here have the industry connections to obtain it for you.
If your looking for equipment to set-​up a new room, just a bottle of nutrients, or need some tips to take your garden to the next level, check these guys out, Im sure you will leave very happy!

This place is great. They have everything I’ve needed and the expertise to solve all your problems. Their prices are a little high on some things, but they have always price matched the competition.
Great customer service — I’ve always had a good experience with the guys who work here.
Awesome selection — they have a big shop, and a lot of variety. They are missing a couple of high profile brands, but I don’t use them so I don’t care.
