I love this trail, but I also live close by. I don’t recommend getting in the car and driving to hike this short trail. But if you are in the area and don’t have time to do a real hike, this can help«take the edge off» of that craving for nature. One way takes about 10 minutes(on foot).

Across the street from Mission Hills Park, this Open Space is a fantastic trail for recreation. You can also access the opposite end at the 1850 block of Titus Street. I took my bike and a lunch down this ravine looking path as an alternate route to get to Old Town. Damn! it was fun! Because water runs down this hill, you can follow along side the stream on the beaten path. There are plenty of times, though, when you have to jump or balance on a few rocks. A few bends have a 3 foot drop into rock bedding, so be careful if you do take a mountain bike. I wouldn’t recommend taking your city fix-er. It’s also a great hike or jog trail. During a sunny day, it was really cool to take in all the plants and enjoy an afternoon stroll. I couldn’t find a dedicated website. But you can google map«San Diego Mission Hills Park» and then focus on the canyon.
