Awesome air field, parking lot is pretty unusable at lunch time due to the restaurant on the top floor. Other than that, this place is pretty vacant.

Never used this place for travel but a great location for throwing a New Years party with and rockstars energy! Live band, free food and drink. Like I said never flew here but would defiantly party here again! Haha

A little airport that wishes to be much larger. It appears to cater to the charter flight and private aviation market. All they need is some furniture in the departure waiting area. The people who manage the airport seem to be nice enough, and even let you drink their coffee while you wait for your plane to be prepped for flight.

Love this airport. Easy parking, the FBO is great and they do not overcharge you. You are close to San Diego and its pretty easy to navigate VFR. Highly recommend.

I like that we have a little airport like Montgomery Field. It’s quaint, a little hidden in the way that you might not kow it is there unless you have a reason to go. Growing up here, I’ve always heard of Montgomery Field, but it took well into my 30’s to actually visit. I like it and am glad it’s here. Parking is plentiful Wearing the headsets in my friends’ Cirrus, it sounds like the air traffic controller is on it and keeps the surroundinng area safe.

I wouldn’t call myself an airport expert, but I had a great experience at Montgomery Field. It is a general aviation airport meaning that all planes are allowed except for commercial airlines and military. The airport is 24 acres and is conveniently located near Downtown, La Jolla, Kearny Mesa, Mira Mesa, Del Mar, etc. My friend got his pilot’s license about 8 years ago and enjoys flying Cessna planes for fun. I had the pleasure of joining him and getting behind the controls. Gibbs Flying Service is at the front entrance of the airport and provides aviation services, including a flying club with rental planes. My friend is a member of the club and he flies rental Cessnas. The runways are clean, clearly marked, and well lit. We had no problem taking off or landing, and there is ample space for multiple airplanes to drive around at the same time.
