Delicious! Very hipterish and funky vibes but still that old school feel too :) Parking doesn’t seem too bad but it is the holidays right now. Road side parking if available.

Very close to my house to bribe my toddler but the ice cream isn’t very good. kind of hard to had bad vanilla ice cream but it is mediorce. Some of the ice creams in Vons taste better than the ice cream they serve here. Many times we have gone here with no where to sit but our car. =(definitely need to add more seating.

Delicious! They make your Waffle cone on the spot. And you can get one scope but 2 different flavors =) I love this place ! Cute décor and friendly staff.

Fun little place! Feels very old fashioned and that’s fantastic! The employees were great and let us try a few things to narrow down our decision. Finally settled on a sundae with mint chocolate chip and vanilla ice cream. I just had a bit, it was my girlfriends sweet tooth fix! Really enjoyed the feel of this place and look forward to returning!

The Burgundy Cherry flavor is really great. Tastes like a creamier Cherry Garcia. Mixing it with the Lemon Custard flavor was interesting. Much creamier than most ice cream shops. Also prone to melting much faster too. I had it for maybe five minutes and not in the sun and yet, it nearly dripped onto my hand and phone. I have yet to try their brownie. It’s not the most ostentatious ice cream shop out there, though it could use less frills. The color pink is a little too emphasized on the walls and outside. Update: Their brownie is good, although it should be finished quicker than I did. It got harder as the days passed, even with the shrink wrap around it to keep air out. A giant brownie, though.

We’ve given this place a few tries but, likely will not be going back. Love the fact that this little place is located in my neighborhood and within walking distance from our house… Love the fact that it is a mom & pop outfit too(in general, we try to support local over commercial). However, the most impressive part about this place is the inside décor(its cute). The flavors are limited though the ice cream is pretty good(however, not noticeably better than other places). The prices are outrageous. During our last visit, I walked my daughter and my nephew over for ice cream after dinner last week(they are both 9). They both ordered the kid scoop(in a cup). The scoops were tiny. The last scoop was made by scraping the bottom of the container… not even sure it was a full scoop. Both scoops were TINY(maybe to stretch the last of it???), even for the little ones and, I’m one of those moms to regulates sugar intake — but this was supposed to be a treat. A total of $ 6 later I decided the next time we head out for ice cream after dinner, it would be worth a slightly farther walk to Mariposa. Not for us… even as quaint as it is.

I’m a big fan of Moosie’s. I love that they are within walking distance of my apartment. The ice cream is good, and my favorite part is that they have a peanut butter topping! My best experience with Moosie’s was about 6 months ago. We were walking home with our waffle cones, I licked my ice cream too hard, and it fell forward off the cone(like you see happen to little kids all the time.) I tried to catch it, but instead smacked it in the air, and it landed about 10 feet away. We walked back to Moosie’s in tears from laughing so much, explained what had happened, and ordered me another cone. I was prepared to pay but the employee felt so bad, he replaced my ice cream for free. WHAT A SWEETHEART! Happy to have Moosie’s in the community. :)

EXCELLENT staple in Kensington. Waffle cones are to die for. Ice cream, sorbet, FLOATS, sundaes… It’s perfect and old-timey and smells like sugary heaven. I can’t wait to go here all the time. Great place to bring visiting friends.

The perfect location for a ice cream shop! When my wife and I learned that they are using ice cream from Fossilman’s up in Alhambra, Los Angeles,( ) we were instantly a fan of Moosie’s. Their ice cream is creamy, layered, and generously scooped. The employees are always(been 3 times so far) friendly, courteous, and smiling. They play 1940’s music, which adds to the quaint décor with their ice cream bar stools and their pink accented wall decorations. Also, ask the employees why they chose the name Moosie’s for a cute story.

Quaint little ice cream shop. Has a old time feel to it. I’m not a old timer but that is what I would picture. They have a pretty big selection. Service is great. The lady at the front was VERY happy. I just remember thinking how happy she was to be there. Perfect customer service. Tried a couple samples and decided to get the sundae. I got dulce de leche with hot fudge. Man it was good. I would come back if I was in the area.

Wow! Great experience here. We were greeted right away with a warm smile and hello and offered samples. I got a single scoop of the cappuccino. If you like coffee ice cream get this! It was so good! The single scoop is very big so it’s definitely worth $ 3.50. We enjoyed our ice cream in the small dining area and the friendly girl that served us came over to ask how our ice cream was. Very great service! We will definitely be back!

Are you kidding me? Ice cream this good one block from the freeway? I finished a job nearby, and popped into Moosie’s expecting a local version of Baskin Robbins. Instead, I found intensely-flavored, rich and nicely blended ice cream selections. I chose three flavors: English Toffee, Cappuccino and Taro Root. The Toffee was not overly sweet, and it made a nice accompaniment to the Cappuccino, which was a strikingly deep chocolate-coffee blend that included toffee bits of its own. The Taro Root had a mild coconut taste, and was the perfect third flavor. If I had a complaint, and bear in mind I am reaching for something to gripe about so I don’t sound like a fanboy, it would be that the ice cream’s butterfat content is so high that it leaves a slight waxy feeling on the lips. Definitely a First World problem.

The service was friendly and they had some interesting ice cream flavors like lemon custard and taro root. I sampled the mocha almond fudge which was delicious but I preferred the salty caramel. The salty caramel was my favorite flavor, wasn’t too much caramel. They also have salted caramel chews for $ 1 each. The shop is cute and bright. There are a few tables to sit inside. They also have a water dispenser to wash down your ice cream.

Came to this ice cream shop on the way home. What a lovely little shop in Kensington. Great area in the neighborhood. The shop itself isn’t big there’s 3 small sitting booths inside and pretty much that’s it. They have some table and chairs outside to enjoy the sun and people watch. We preferred to take ours to go while we strolled the streets. my party of 3 ordered the taro, the cookies n cream & mocha almond fudge with the waffle cone. all 3 were delicious! Love love the flavors and especially that it wasn’t too rich customer service was exceptional– We were greeted with a smile And asked if we wanted to Sample the ice creams– Thank you Moosies for adding a delicous bonus for Our Monday family Funday

Well, they were out of waffle cones. They didn’t have hot fudge. And there was only one person working the growing line, but gosh darnit he handled it so well that I didn’t care much about the fact that I had to «settle» for strawberry in a sugar cone. Customer service makes a huge difference. The person working behind the counter was cheerful while scooping away. He didn’t look frazzled(which I would’ve been) or annoyed. And yes, the ice cream was tasty. It’s a cute little ice cream parlor on a fun block in Kensington. More scoops in store for me I’m sure.

Adorable shop and wonderful customer service. They serve rich ice cream with wonderful waffle cones. I tried the taro, lemon custard, and butter pecan flavors. Taro tasted creamy and nut-y. Butter pecan could have used more pecans but was overall wonderful. The waffle cone tasted very fresh. It’s the only time in which the waffle cone has lived up to the delicious smell. Moosie’s also sells Hanna’s monster cookies(made in Coronado by a gal who is using the proceeds to fund her college education). I’m glad Moosie’s supports local businesses! Just think, you could make your own ice cream cookie sandwich!

We were sitting at Village Vino on a Friday night when someone walked by with some Ice cream. Like the dessert finding blood hound that I am we followed their scent to Moosie’s. There were quite a few flavors to choose from and many that we hadn’t seen anywhere else(lemon custard, sweet corn, cherry vanilla, etc). It’s a bit on the pricey end for ice cream, but they make their ice cream and waffle cones in house which is super cool. There were a few seats inside and out. All in all a good experience. If I’m in the area again I’d go back.

Dark Chocolate and Salted Caramel loaded into a small cup was the name of the game on this visit. For about $ 3 and some change, I received a heaping pile of rich dark chocolate over some sweet and salty salted caramel ice cream( ). I loved both flavors very much. The salted caramel had mild caramel flavor and not to overwhelming, with a nice salty after taste. It was almost perfect as salted caramel goes( ). The dark chocolate was perfect and with a great dark chocolate flavor. It was rich and smooth, just the was the doctor ordered. They are in the process of making ice cream cakes in the near future and will be making their own waffle cones as well. They get their ice cream from Fosselman which is very good quality ice cream… Oh yes, the young lady who was running the shop was very sweet and talkative, in a good way of course. Eat ice cream here…

Cute Ice cream shop in the heart of Kensington. I like the pink décor and that they point to where the line should start. No cutting!!! It is a small shop so it could get packed in 2 seconds and then empty in another 2. They have some stools at the counter and 3 tables for indoor seating and also 2 tables outside. I sampled a few flavors before I made my choice. I liked the taro coconut flavor, the dark chocolate but the winner was chocolate covered strawberries! I asked for a waffle come which is 50 cents extra. I think it’s very cool of them to offer gluten free and vegan options. Overall I enjoyed my ice cream and the great company! I shall be returning to Moosies for more delicious ice cream.

Sweet red cherry drawing me close. My will was weak. My tongue longed to taste her sweetness. After what seemed an eternity my time came! A touch of her cream swirled on my tongue. Into my mouth. Taste so heavenly. I swallowed slowly to make the moment last. Finally the sweet red cherry was mine! The flavor mixing with her cream which had a hint of vanilla. So awesome! I’m hooked. Don’t get the vanilla cherry ice cream here. Leave it all for me! :-) I visited for the soft opening. Place doesn’t officially open till July. I’m giving this place a bonus star as there is a bathroom in the back. Very handy for those of us who can’t handle their ice cream and maybe some goes places it’s not suppose to… For the serious ice cream fans out there. Note that they get all their ice cream from Fosselman’s in Alhambra. This is some of the best ice cream on the planet. I was contemplating how I could transport some back to San Diego. But Moosie’s has saved me a long drive. :-) The nice friendly staff was very helpful letting my sample different flavors so I could best determine how to satisfy my ice cream addiction. :-)
