Where do I begin? I have been a customer AND a student: both were disappointing and shady experiences. Sadly, this schools time has come and gone. The wellness center is just an extension of the half-a**ed, money hungry, and quite filthy standard set by the owners and staff themselves. Education; minimal, anyone can pass. Administration: a joke, they’re interest and excitement in their students lasts just long enough for you to sign the paperwork. Facility; the wellness center, where massage clinicals are done, is run down, dark, dank,(difficult to see the filth if lights are low) and looks like a cross between a 1970’s brothel and your stoner friends dorm room. But a «wellness center»? Not so much. Kind of sad since I don’t get the impression that this was the legacy the original owner had intended. If you’re interested in an education in the holistic or alternative industry– this is NOT where you will find it. Keep looking because there is a LEGIT school here in San Diego– this is NOTIT.

I love this place! The events are great. I love the book store and I really enjoy the massage therapists there. They hold very high standards in all that they do. I refer people often and will go back again and again for a variety of reasons. I highly recommend this place!

I got an excellent massage from my student therapist. I highly recommend this place. My only gripes are that the room could have been a bit warmer and the location of the massage room(directly adjacent to the street) subjected me to less than relaxing ambient noise. Overall an excellent value and experience.

The first thing that strikes me every time I go to the Wellness Center is how GREAT it smells in there! I am immediately calmed and soothed, and a sense of happiness overwhelms me. That may sound too gushy, but please just try it for yourself. Every time I go, my therapist is genuine and professional. They always ask important questions and seek to ensure that my experience is perfect. I highly recommend calling them up to schedule an appointment!

One fine San Diego Saturday morning, Nate and I wanted to get a massage. It had been a stressful week, and we wanted to relax. We had some Living Social coupons for one place, but they were booked when we called, so we took a chance and called up Mueller. They had two appointments available at the same time, so we took them. We live just down the street, so it was easy to get to. I ended up having a male masseuse, for the first time. I was a little nervous, but got over it. And I’m glad I did, because this was THEBESTMASSAGE I HAVEEVERHAD! (I wish I could remember his name, but I can’t, which is a bummer, cause I highly recommend him!) He asked me lots of questions before we got started. He seemed a little flighty at first, but when he started the massage, everything was awesome. Great pressure, good technique, plenty of communication during the whole procedure. I came out of their floating. Now, the whole set-up at Mueller is a little weird. I was in one of the first rooms, and there isn’t a ceiling, so you can hear everything going on around you, which can definitely detract from the experience. I heard the whole conversation next door, and another group in what I think was a classroom. So, ambience is lacking in some respects. But the massage was still amazing, so it was ok to me!

Additionally I have left messages for the Director of body works, and for the Dean himself to call me back or e-mail a response. It is simple, the school and those that are higher up don’t care about the students. Most of the time that the administration even bats an eye is when a student goes crazy by yelling at Instructors, refusing to leave the classroom and campus and thy have to call the Police to get things handled. This school truly is in a sad state of affairs.

I like the fun and odd assortment of things that are available here. I found a copy of The Dancing Wu Li Masters here(a book on Quantum Physics and Spirituality), and am always treated well. A great spot to drift through when you have a chance.

Two stars, because even a bad massage is still a massage… kinda like bad pizza. My masseuse wasn’t horrible, but she wasn’t great. Nothing a generous friend couldn’t give me for free. The room was c-c-c-old, and the temperature could not be adjusted. No temp control in a massage room? Also, she made me sit up to be massaged in order to «wake me up» in the end. Not too pleasant.

Besides the obvious educational factor, the reason why I recommend checking that place out is for the $ 30 massage, performed by the school students. It’s a great way to assuage problem areas without spending a fortune.
