Quiet hiking area in a canyon. Ideal for a short hike to get some quick exercise.

Great little trail about a mile out and a mile back. It’s a little steep at first but then after you cross the first creek, it’s level the rest of the way. The city does a good job maintaining it, cutting back the brush etc. I’ve been out and often seen them working with crews and trucks. Be a bit careful with kids, as I’ve been out there alone on occasion and run into a homeless person or two. My kid’s school takes kids down there for canyon hikes but they are always accompanied by a large group of adults. The kids love crossing the creeks and finding bugs and small animals along the way. There’s a great oak tree about a quarter mile down the path that is beautiful. The kids like to find acorns under it. You can take dogs on leash and I often take mine. We get to the end and back in about 30 – 40 minutes going at a leisurely pace.
