Great quality food for very reasonable prices. Met my friends in downtown San Diego for some sushi and we picked this place. Best decision! Great environment and not too loud. You can actually have a conversation with your friends here. We got the spider roll and it was delicious! I will definitely be back here

Came in on a Saturday afternoon. This place is pretty small. there was only two tables in & out when we were dining in. Only 1 chef &1 waitress when we were here. We were starving & couldn’t wait to eat! but looking at the menu, the speciality rolls were pretty pricey, around 17 $. rolls were ok-good, but not GREAT, especially for that price. had better for cheaper forsure. and they charge extra for sauces??? that’s so stingy! $ 1 and they only give you a little bit. food came out pretty slow & one at a time. when there was only one other table there. FOOD — yellowtail jalapeño = decently good. not much flavor from the yellowtail itself, more from the ponzu — hamachi Kama = it was good, a little too cooked — philly = it was ok — japaxican = it was good — nippon fried chicken = wasn’t what I expected. wasn’t much fried there, and it was too much soy sauce marinade, tasted very high in sodium HAPPYHOURMENU(pretty good price) — calamari legs = good! but needs dipping sauce :( — gyoza = decent — fried shrimp roll = basic, good for what it is — garlic edamame = good(I forgot to check in for free edamame!) — takoyaki = cheese balls? it was ok — flavored sake deal = 3 different flavors for $ 6(1shot each) lychee was my favorite — hot sake $ 3. can fill up to 2 or 3 full shots

Worst dining experience I’ve ever had. For a time frame, we were sat and ordered before the Cowboys and Packers game started today. My SALAD came after halftime was over. We waited almost 90 minutes for subpar sushi, in the smallest roll Ive ever witnessed. Tempura was not completely cooked and my niece, on her birthday, had to eat raw batter on vegetables. I highly recommend any place else for sushi. That includes 7 – 11.

My boyfriend and I live downtown and decided to try this place even though its usually pretty empty. We were pleasantly surprised. The sushi is really basic but very good. I think the only reason its not busier is because their menu isn’t loaded with a bunch of «specialty» rolls. This will definitely be my go to sushi place from now on. If You like real sushi you should check this place out for sure!

Steamy n hot with the ambience of an oversized bathroom. This place prob fits 30 – 40 people max, assuming everyone is squished in. Weird crowd. I don’t get it. We were looking for a quickie fish fix while we were wandering around the gaslamp but it just isn’t ideal to be in this place on a hot summer evening and somewhat concerning that raw fish is being served up at those temps too — eeek!

EXCELLENT sashimi — DEFINITELY the measure of a GREAT sushi place. I tried the fresh salmon and yellowtail. The shaved daikon, shiso leaves and wasabi were JUSTRIGHT too, and that’s saying a lot from me :)

Great casual atmosphere and you can easily walk in and get a table. There was brief power outage, but that just makes for a good first date story. :)

We had some pretty basic stuff here that was done pretty well, but the best pros I can mention have to do with the service and establishment itself. Our server was very attentive and we even ordered things that were not on the menu. The sushi chef was happy to oblige and our food came out quickly and as we ordered it. The food we special ordered was priced very well, too. The flavored sake was a little sweet for us, but we thought it was cool that they had a «tasting» option for them: 3 types for $ 6. We had the Lychee and Peach. Both were a bit sweet but not bad. The gyoza was a little too crunchy for me, but the flavor was good. I am used to one somewhat crisp side and the rest being soft like a dumpling, but I know it depends on where you go and where you’re from. The restaurant itself has a very intimate and modern feel. Huge windows by our table made it nice for people-watching, and also to see when our friends arrived ;) We would return in the future.

I love this place so much. I come here at least once per week. I get the shaolin dragon cocktail drink and nippon sushi roll. It’s very delicious! A must in Nippon. The Place is very cute and classy. The owner kareem is very polite and every time I come in he says hi to me.

Comic Con 2013 The others in my group who went to Comic Con with me were all doing their thing — so I went to do mine. Eat! And though it was my first time at Comic Con, I knew better to arrive early before the crowds formed lines at restaurants resulting in long waits. I was the second person in line waiting patiently for the doors to open and be let in. Offered and accepted a seat at the Sushi bar and settled in for some Sushi and Sashimi. And some beer too. The first was nice and pretty fresh and I enjoyed every bite. The portion sizes were generous for teh Sashimi, but not so much so for the Sushi. I would’ve expected that to be the other way around. See pics and you’ll see what I mean. The rice was just right for the rolls(cut and hand) and the seaweed salad(one of my favs) came with lots of greens. The service was great but I was there before the masses arrived. My server, and the chefs were attentive, friendly and professional. It’s also not a large restaurant, or what I like to refer to as somewhat cozy so their staff can pretty much see everyone and everything. As for parking — during Comic Con — good luck. I’m not sure how it would be if there wasn’t a convention or other event but the restaurant is in the Gas Lamp so I’d guess that it could be somewhat challenging. Prices weren’t bad considering the location but when you’re already blowing through cash like it’s growing on trees, may as well enjoy yourself. I did. I enjoyed my Sushi meal quite a bit.
