After going to Club Sabbat for the third time tonight I can say this place is my go to for the goth Scene! I have always had fun each time I’ve gone, depending on what bartender you get the drinks can either be too strong or too weak so that’s –1 star. Other than that I love the music they play on the non industrial side and I really appreciate the fact that they have two rooms because not everyone is into industrial. Thanks for keeping a place open that welcomes us goths that just wanna club on a Saturday night!

This place sucks! The bathrooms smell. There’s hardly any people any night, plus a cover.

We only go to Sabbat night (which is the Goth-​Electro-​Industrial-​dance club night, playing music like Nine Inch Nails, VNV Nation, KMFDM, Skinny Puppy) I’ve never been to any club or music venue that has a decent bathroom that I can remember, so people whining about dirty bathrooms, get a clue. Also they do have AC, I’ve been there like 30 times, and it’s never been hot once… but anyways. if you like goth-​electro-​dance nights, this is the place for you too! Bottom LIne is, its really the ONLY club in San Diego that we like at all. So there. Cheers to Numbers

Numbers is not the spot anymore. I am from out of town a friend recommended this place to me. Saying there would be lots of good music and dancing… I experienced neither. Definitely not what I expected. Sad this is the venue has so much potential. As you can see it has not gotten good reviews since 2008… Umm yea if you are visiting San Diego and want a good gay club scene stick with Flicks or Richs. So much fun. Sorry Numbers I was rooting for you. Maybe you can make a come back.

Numbers is NOOO exception.
When in the area and upon departing Mo’s or Cantina, I/​we tend to dawdle into this place for a late night cap off. Located on Park within the «University /​Hillcrest» precinct, this sausage fest of a sardine box serves both cock and tail in exactly that order.
Drinks are served copiously and not once have I ever had a problem obtaining a buzz thereon, I’ve yet to ever so much as make my way here and become SOOOO– inebriated that I forget how much they charge to enter! Thank God for being attractive, THIS IS NOTTT the type of place you pay to partition entry!
As indicated by a plethora of other reviewers, what totally puts this place on the map is their overwhelming amount of «themed» nights: From «Bear Nights» to «Latin Nights» and they’ve been known to go BALLS completely OUTT for Halloween yet…
I can’t state that any of this impresses me. ^ ^ ^ Perhaps its because (dare I say), the NUMBERS simply don’t ADD UP!!!
YES — the gasoline evocative libations are GUARANTEED to leave you «white girl wasted» however this has yet to deter me from their bathhouse reminiscent, outhouse comparable restrooms.
YES — you’re likely to amalgamate with a crowd of barebacking booze bottoms, salivating sadomasochist and hammered harlots however this has yet to dissuade me from their poor choice in music and the porn… YES PORN, being streamed FULL THROTTLE upon their (likely to be sticky) mounted televisions.
… and YES — it’s become all the more obvious to me just how this place has managed to secure themselves their acclaimed reputation as «WHERE TO GO… WHEN ALL ELSE FAILS» as you’re assured to encounter the likes of all sorts of musty mofo’s attempting to feel you up at direct entry just to get into this claustrophobic jook joint.
Last but certainly not least… back to the restrooms. LORD HAVE MERCY, are they abhorrent!!!

As of most places befitting this caliber, said lavatories are unisex and it’s virtually impossible to determine whose actually making the mess; the men or the women. From toilet papered — urine drenched stalls directly to the urinals void of dividers and the facility’s failure to address matters in accordance speaks absolute volumes!

Yikes… Went this Friday night and I was so confused. They decided to split the bar into two sections now, and you have to pay a cover for each section… greedy.
I opted for the latin night side since I have no interest in disgusting leather/​daddy piggy scene…
Latin night was dead. There was some ratchet trannies doing drag and then they were playing crappy music, hardly anyone was dancing and frankly there was so few people in there it was disappointing to pay a cover. I went to go peak at the other side of the bar to see what the scene was like and I was disgusted to see they were playing FULL on porn on the tvs on that side! WTF?! I am seriously no prude, but I did not think a bar was allowed to just play straight up hardcore porn on the tv. I was very ashamed of Numbers for allowing this trashy scene to occur on their premises… this is why the gay community gets slammed… for bullshit like this.
I will not be back… what a dump. They will be going out of business eventually, you watch.

I don’t live nearby but I always try to make it out to numbers for bear night once a month. I would give the place higher stars but like many of the posts here, the bathrooms are atrocious. You definitely need to have a few drinks in you before they become mildly tolerable.
That being said, bear night is one hell of a hot night, so much eye-​candy. Crowded with sweaty hot hairy men all in one place, this is definitely the place to be if that is your type of crowd. Love the older rugged crowd here, definitely more my scene then other gay bars. I tend to find I’m one of the few younger dudes here but I don’t mind and hey the bears here are hot as hell, woof! Great friendly/​sexy atmosphere with lots of groping and good old flirtation letting loose on a crowded dance floor. Wouldn’t recommend coming here if you’re not single as I guarantee you will loose track of boyfriend before you know it. Definitely in heaven here when I venture out for Bear night. If you’re a bear, otter, cub or whatever you refer to yourself as and are looking for a fun night crowded with hairy ass gay male masculine energy in your face at all times then absolutely come out for Bear night, otherwise not sure I would come here.

The place is descent, but the bartenders are corrupt and only care about making an extra dollar. So sad, I don’t think I will return due to the dishonesty of the wait staff.

I went here last week for some wet underwear contest thing. Had a blast. Forgot my debit card. Let me tell you… getting into this joint before 9pm to get my card (which evidently is my bedtime on weeknights) has proved IMPOSSIBLE. I don’t know why some websites say it opens at 2pm or Unilocal says it opens at 4pm. They don’t answer the phone either.
I think I will resort to canceling the card because I have no friggin clue when this place opens up. Apparently hours of operation don’t mean anything anymore.

I live within walking distance of a few bars/​clubs, and this is by far one of my favorites. They are quite diverse in their theme nights, Latin karaōke on Tuesdays, hip hop Tagged and Wet underwear competition on Thursdays, Uncut (Latin night with great music and hot gogos) on Fridays, Bear Night on the first Saturday of ea month (very crowded and fun) Sunday gospel show with food around brunch time –Gigi and Kiki really get you in the mood… which mood? Depends on you! :) and then there a lot of other events that are about once a month or so, Harness (leather theme with really friendly people), PokeBall (Pokemon theme /​dress up night), Divas night (amazing drag show with a theme & well put together, last one I went to was Disney theme and still smile when I think of it) and a lot of other events… they do quite a few great fundraising events here. Take a chance, have fun and see what it is all about!

Enjoyed Bear Night immensely. Place was packed, nice friendly crowd. Most guys had their shirts off on the dance floor (me, too), so a lot to look at. Go go guys were super friendly, and built like a ton of bricks.

MINUS ALL THE STARS FOR THOSE DISGUSTING RESTROOMS! GET IT TOGETHER NUMBERS– EW.
One is unisex which i had to use and walk past a bunch of wieners to get to the stall, which guys can see in through the large gapping cracks, and it had no top to the back part of the toilet. So no where to set my purse but the godawful floor, which was worse than any truck stop or public rest stop toilet I have been in. The other was flooded and we got there when they JUST opened it looked like people had been pooping and peeing in it anyway plus the handle was missing to flush it and the back lid of the toilet was missing there too.
On the other side one unisex which was a sausage fest and one acceptable toilet with a line around the block for it because it was the only toilet women would go in.
Other than that I enjoyed this place it was a Masquerade fetish party where Robin Roth DJ’d. I really enjoyed the beautiful gogo dancers! They mesmerized me along with all the people getting tied up. It was super fun and great music.
My friends had to pry me away from one of the gogo girls to get me to dance which I enjoyed doing with all the cool laser lights and steam and smoke. Everyone got pretty freaky and were dressed crazy. I highly recommend checking it out next time they do it. It’s mysterious and sexy! Drinks were $ 8 for a grape vodka and soda. A little steep but pretty strong. There is a coat check for $ 2 which is rare!

Okay so I been to a lot of clubs in hilcrest but this is by far the worst.
When I say worst I mean the bathrooms
I went there on a Tuesday. I got there as soon as they open the door. So I would think that the bathrooms would be really clean since it was on a weekday and it wasn’t even busy.
I’ll get to point the bathrooms were nasty dirty and smelly. There was water all over the floor. They didn’t have any toilet sit covers. And I couldn’t even wash my hands cause the water wasn’t running.
And this was in both bathrooms,
To tell you the truth I preferred to go out side on a bush and do my business.

Great place to go especially during Sabbat. I mostly order from the main bartender in the front, but they are all awesome. I also like going there when the next room is open. Great place to just try something you meet some new people, great drink prices and have a blast.

Went to Numbers last night. They had 2 events, latin night on the left side and house music on the right side. We wanted to go to both events. The guy taking IDs said if we wanted to go to both events, we had to pay for both. We said we wanted to and we thought we did and got a stamp on the wrist. We went in to the house music side first.
We got a drink, but there weren’t very many people. So we asked how to get to the latin side. We were pointed in the direction to what should have been the hallway to the other side of the club. Walked over but it was locked (or boarded up). We were told by the bouncer if we wanted to go to the other side, we had to go back outside and go through the front entrance. Which, of course, meant, we couldn’t take our drinks with us.
So we went back outside to go into the latin night side of the club. Only to find out that we had to pay another cover. Once we got inside we had a great time and everything was fine. Except that we had to buy more drinks.
Then when I wanted to go have a smoke, I was pointed to the door that had signs for the fire exit. I don’t know about you, but usually when I see signs all over a door that say fire exit, I imagine loud sirens going off when the door opens. So I asked the bartender if I was going to the right place.
As a web designer, I think a lot about user experience. This was clearly a poorly thought out user experience. Hell the guy taking ID didn’t even know what the words mean. Why should he.
Just give people choice. Let them go to both. Just charge more if you have to. You had at least three staff who were confused, frustrated, waisting your time and money trying to crowd control. And you had clientele who wanted both experiences and be able to take their drinks with them. Not only that but in retrospect, the whole thing seemed some what segregationist.
Would have been SO much more fun if we could have paid a higher little cover and been able to freely go back and forth between both events with our drink. And make it a little clearer where the smoking area is (maybe not out the door with the big huge «Fire Exit» signs.

Happy Hour at Numbers. Good place to go for drinks, ok prices, but…
NUMBERS AT 2PM is boring. but who wants to watch NBC7 all through out happy hour till the place closes for the day or for the younger crowd.

The place is just full of old guys and men and pretty empty when happy hour starts at 2pm. Don’t think you’ll find a sugar daddy here. theyre all on fixed income or SSI or whatever.
So come with your friends or just stay on iphone all the time while you sip your drink.

This place is a freaking oven!!! And I’m not referring to the buns everywhere type of oven (even though there’s half naked men that are really showing their buns all the time hahaa)… it’s freaking HOT! There’s no ventilation what so ever so as soon as you step in you can feel the musty and hot air. Every time I go I’m literally sweating in the first 2 minutes I’m inside.
But besides that, when they play hip hop it’s good music, they play a lot of older songs so that’s great. Drinks are regularly priced. There’s 2 rooms and an outdoor smoking area.

This place is terrible. Worst place ever. Bouncer pushed my best friend. (Bar tenders were nice) bouncers were complete jerks. Bouncers abuse their power. I will never go here again.

Amazing night.
My first weekend back in California some friends from LA drove down to party it up for the night. After going to some other clubs in Hillcrest and not really enjoying ourselves, we were directed to Numbers.
What a nice dark and sexy bar. Great space for dancing, and a beautiful, eclectic mix of people. The bartenders were nice and made strong drinks. The DJ was okay, some poorly executed transitions were an occasional bummer on the dance floor. Of course, the more intoxicated we became the less we noticed.
The highlight of the evening was an incredible fire dancer. Beautiful, fluid, flow arts perfection. I now have a new goal.
Again, the drinks were strong, after only 3 cocktails I have no recollection of my Über ride back. I’d say that’s an almost perfect night.
