The newly restored Ocean Beach sign that greets visitors and residents alike as they venture into Ocean Beach along Sunset Cliffs Blvd. is in place and looks great! You will see it placed alongside Robb Field, just past the OB Skate Park. The OB Rag noted«After a long process of bringing in local artists and voting on new ideas for the sign, organizers decided to … stick with the same exact design» of the new entrance sign. County Supervisor Ron Roberts secured the funding from the county for the sign, which cost around $ 7,000, said the Rag. I drove by the new sign yesterday and snapped this picture. I like it better than the old Ocean Beach sign, which had a sea gull on it and some waves and looked cheesy. The old sign was also riddled with termite damage and rotting wood. Now, instead of wood, «it is made of aluminum and high-density foam, which will hopefully solve the termite problem that plagued the last sign,» said the OB Rag. At the grand unveiling of the new sign in June 2014, Supervisor Roberts noted«the termites were holding it together.» The new, updated sign is perfect. I love it! 5 Unilocal Stars of Entrance Sign perfection!

I heart OBMA! As an associate member, they’ve helped me grow my business, and participating on their committees has been a great entry point to get to know other merchants in the community. OB wouldn’t be the same place without OBMA putting on the amazing events we all love — Street Fair, Oktoberfest, OB Beach Ball… These guys work hard to make our little beach town great, and I can’t say enough good things about them.
