This is pertaining to one member of the Club who needs to re-learn her manners. Went to parade of lights on Shelter Island Dec. 21, parked down below Outboard Club by boat launch. I have handicapped plates on my van, so I am allowed to park in the green 20 min. zone without time limit, by law. As the boat parade started, a woman about 40 years old came up to my passenger door, and in the xmas spirit, she(S) ELF-ishly asked my to leave, stating that she was from the boat club, I was blocking their view of the parade, and that I was parked illegally. I informed her of my right to park without time limits with handicapped plates. She barked back«SOYOURNOTLEAVING?!», and closed my car door on me, as she walked away in a huff. I looked up where they were having the party on their patio, and I would only be in their view, not blocking it, as I was 100 feet away, and parked down below them. The panoramic view of the parade stretched from downtown S.D., Coronado, and to the beach. One more car was not going to ruin their view, and I would not find more parking, as the crowd/traffic was heavy. It was difficult not to let her rudeness ruin my spirit, so I went walked the park and talked to other people, trying to erase the rude woman from my thoughts. Regardless, I hope all of you(including all members of this club, who are probably usually nice people) enjoyed the parade, and enjoy this holiday season. Happy Holidays, and have a great 2015!
