Generally this is my favorite restaurant to go to. However, this Panda Express gives smaller portions than the others. They were very slow and all acted like they were upset about something. Afterwards, they messed everything up by having the chicken undercooked and i wanted more sauce. Also, the cashier gave me 1 fortune cookie when i asked for 4. The rice, Don’t even get me started with the rice! I got so much less rice and they didnt even have enough so i had to wait about 20 minutes to get that rice. All in all, i give it a 2. I recommend go to a different Panda Express because now you know it will be bad! Thanks for broadening your spectrum on the dark realities of this Panda Express.

The food is your typical Panda Express food, though possibly more freshly prepared than other stores; however, the staff is amazing. Most times I have been there, the staff as has been impressively fast, efficient, and friendly. Today, there was a bit of an issue as I was picking up food for myself and my sister and we only really wanted teriyaki chicken. They were out when I arrived, but some was ready just a few minutes later. The problem? A person that arrived just before me bought it all. I had to wait for them to make yet another batch. There were people waiting for them to make other dishes, and it takes awhile for the chicken to get up to the right temperature, so I waited a considerably long time for my food. It was absolutely my choice to wait and the staff could not have handled the situation better. I walked out of there feeling like they absolutely cared about their customer service and would go above and beyond to demonstrate it. Thank you.

When the Chinese food craving hits hard this place is the closest to home. Not the most authentic but I digress. I try to keep it healthier by ordering brown rice and the veggie dishes. I love the eggplant tofu but the last couple times the eggplant wasn’t cooked thoroughly so it was tough not soft and mushy how I like it. The shrimp dishes are usually pretty tasty as well. Just stay away from the orange chicken if you are dieting!

I don’t care for the location as the parking in this center is crazy! The 5 star rating isn’t for the parking! I ran out from work to grab lunch really wanting some Chinese food… but, not realizing this was even there as it’s tucked away in the corner. Both times I’ve gone there I’ve been greeted by a super nice employee. It had been a while since I’d been their the 2nd time and she recognized me. Their choices are fresh. I love that they let you taste their product before you order it. I had ordered fried rice then realized I could do half and half and get veggies then my choices of the main items. She was so nice about making sure I got what I wanted and removing half of the rice because I waited too long to ask her. I wish they delivered!

Overall a great Panda location, the guys were friendly and gave generous portions. The store was about to close and they treated us no different then if we had been walking in during lunch, so that was nice! If your in the mood for Chinese, it’s tasty, we’ll cooked and quick!

Giid food but WAY understaffed. Let few times here, long lines and the goofy servers just want to flirt w the 14 – 15 yr old girls. Ridiculous. Here now and have waited 15 minutes. At LEAST5 – 10 to go. I’d leave, if I hadn’t waited 15 already. Feels like Disneyland. Crazy. HIREMOREPEOPLE. we like your food, hate your service!!!

It was my first time at this box store style strip mall and definitely won’t be my last. There are a ton of stores and restaurants, good location and easy to find parking. I came to this Panda Express on a Friday night, about 1.5 hours before closing. There were five people in line in front of me, but the service was super fast and really nice. All the items were in stock and very fresh. This was one of the more«modernized» locations, which is nice because the glass is low enough that you can hear the staff and see the items well, plus its well labelled. The place was nice and clean. I was offered a sample and given no hassle ordering a kid’s meal, which I’ve had trouble getting in the past in some locations. At the checkout, the staff was super super nice; nicer than I’ve encountered at any fast food place in recent memory. In fact, they even came to my table a bit after and asked how everything was! The food was a bit better than standard Panda Express fare, as it served really fresh and nice and hot. The steamed vegetables were not salty for once and not so overcooked that they still had a crunch. They also had fresh ground black pepper! I ask for it at every Panda, but have never actually found a location that offers it! There is a self-serve soda and tea machine, which I’ve never seen at a Panda Express. The restaurant has a fair amount of seating(both two and 4 person tables) and a clean, well stocked restroom. Definitely the best Panda Express I’ve been to so far.

Love panda but this location is full of pure vegetables and minimal meat! I orders black pepper chicken NOT celery and onions with a splash of the few chicken pieces! Staff is friendly and always well stocked!

This place is insane it’s so busy! I understand the frustration of the other commenters. I stood in line for 25 minutes with not that many people ahead of me. Watching their line process is what takes so long. They need more than one cashier because the rest of the people aren’t doing so much. But no matter what at the end you get your Panda Express and all is well in the world! Just takes longer to get there at this location.

I think(in my head) I am master of Convoy street when it comes to picking a good authentic Chinese restaurant so I am not sure why I kinda like Panda Express. They definitely don’t have ‘authentic’ Chinese food but I grew up eating PE with friends when we just wanted something fast and Chinese. The location here is next to Rite Aid and Einstein Bagels. Parking can be a hassle and definitely try to avoid coming to this strip mall when the Torrey Pines high school kids have a half day or just got let out of school. Parking can be a mess so beware. The staff here is friendly and someone always says«welcome to Panda express!» when you walk in. They let you choose veggies(at no extra charge) instead of rice or noodles for your combo plate so that deserves an extra star right there. I think they’ve recently raised their prices. A 3 item combo is now $ 8.30. I always order whatever looks freshly woked fried and not sitting in the steel bowl for more than 10 minutes. So this visit I had kung pao chicken, mushroom chicken, and green bean chicken(just realized I was in a chicken mood). I would say most of their chicken dishes are saucey but no biggie. Don’t be bashful asking how long a certain item has been sitting out b/c they’ve offered to whip up a new batch of whatever item I’ve ever questioned so that’s super nice of them. Make sure to look at the bottom of your receipt for a FREEENTREEITEM when you complete an online survey. I just took it and it’s kinda long but it’s worth $ 1.50 so suck it up. So yeah this probably is my favorite location so far in terms of portion sizes and service.

It’s Panda Express, main chain so most people would know what to think about it. Lucky for me, the location for quick easy pick up is perfect and right in my neighborhood. I know it’s not the healthiest option, but when ordering take out, you can easily share a combo plate with someone so you avoid ingesting all those extra calories. The venue is big and clean, and the staff was helpful the time I went in. I do like the extra options they added like honey shrimp!

I’m never going back to this location or Panda Express for this matter. I visited this location on Thursday and almost an hour after eating orange chicken and noodle, I had terrible stomach pains and nausea. Later to find out I had food poisoning. I don’t know how long their food had been sitting out but it was sort of cold when I ate it. The manager seems really unconfident and i just didn’t enjoy my experience in general. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone !

It is fast food, so set up expectation accordingly. Their family feast is a good deal, like any other Panda Express. I give them 5 stars for excellent customer service when they make a mistake in the order. Manager and owner must be taking customer satisfaction very seriously. Location is great too. Keep the good work!

I’ve had mediocre experiences at most Panda Express’ but this one has always been a good experience. Food is fresh, staff is happy and friendly, and they’re not randomly out of a ton of dishes like most Panda’s are.

Every time I come here, typically around lunch hour, the customer service is always excellent and the food seems to be fresh and not sitting for long periods of time! I typically take it to go, or eat outside which is a nice option. It’s in a nice area and the parking lots is shared with many businesses like the bank, Rite Aid, Jamba Juice, Starbucks, Bath & Body works etc… so careful with pedestrians and other lunch time drivers. Not really much to say about Panda. You’ve seen one, you’ve seen them all… No MSG.

Customer service is great, they never run out of things but their lines can get ridiculously long because of how small this restaurant is. Whoever thought how the line should be form definitely did not keep in mind how many asians live around this area which creates an awkward wall of people blocking the entrance. Another great thing about this location is that it was placed in an enjoyable scenery with a small waterfall fountain and plenty of lounging to enjoy a nice lunch with friends or yourself. Just remember not to come here around noon, cause the whole line thingy I was talking about… youll be part of it if you do haha

As far as fast food chains go, this is a pretty nice place. It’s clean, the staff is friendly and there’s plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. It’s conveniently located in the corner of the Del Mar Highlands Shopping Center. Parking can be difficult though, especially just after work. As soon as I walk in the door, I’m greeted by one of the staff. They always get my order right and the food is always fresh. My favorite dishes are the Beijing Beef or Chicken Teriyaki. They also offer Izzie’s sparkling grapefruit juice, which I love. I walk my dogs here at least once a month to eat outside.

Panda Express is neither fancy nor authentic, but for a quick inexpensive meal, it is tough to beat. The Del Mar Highlands location is particularly good because as a full sized store it has all of the typical Panda offerings. Before this location opened our area was serviced by a much smaller store inside the VONS at Piazza Carmel, whose offerings were much more limited. Our family of 4(including 2 small kids) is fine with the 2 entrée plate, most often with Orange Chicken and something else. We usually pick the chow mien but sometimes, if I’m feeling really crazy, I’ll ask for half chow mien and half fried rice — I know, insane, right? For the 2nd entrée I’ll go with the Honey Walnut Shrimp, the Mixed Veggies or the Eggplant Tofu. I may sometimes bring home Cream Cheese Rangoons or Hot & Sour Soup if we’re feeling extra special. No Michelin stars for Panda, but the food is flavorful, inexpensive and quick at a convenient location in a great shopping center.

I can’t believe I’m writing a review on Panda, and giving it a four. But I gotta give credit where credit is due! My bf claimed that this location is «the best Panda in the US!» Well, I don’t think that says much… BUT, this really is the best Panda(out of probably three I’ve been to in my life). Because 1) the service was awesome– we came 20 minutes prior to closing, and the lady was so sweet and loaded up our plates. We got so much food for $ 6. Beat that, Rubio’s. And before we left, she hooked us up with some cream cheese wontons.(Not a fan of those, but a nice gesture nonetheless.) 2) And the real surprise of the night was the food was actually really good. I got all chicken(black pepper and firecracker), and it was the most tender chicken I’ve ever had at a Panda. Look, it’s not great. But for everyone that says it’s not«real» Chinese food… what’s real Chinese food? The food my parents used to cook for me at home was sometimes just simple vegetables and meat in sauce. Not too far from some of the dishes at Panda. I think the plates allow more variety than Pick Up Stix, and it’s a lot cheaper and cleaner than Chin’s.
